I’m going to make this one tomorrow, but for the elastics will buy hair elastic bands from the dollar store. They are silky slippery and half the width of this type elastic in this video. I think they would be much more comfy to wear for hours.

By far the best and most comfortable mask I have tested in months and I have made quite a few. I have just amended it a bit so that you can slip a filter in: instead of sewing together the bottom of the mask ( the "chin" part ) I hem them separately.

This is the best video I have seen to date on mask making. It's foolproof and the folds are so clean and crisp. I have asthma and feel like I'm suffocating in a mask. I'm making these because they give you room and don't smash up against your face. Great video!

The perfect addition to this mask would be a adjustable nose bit, I use paper clips for the masks I make and they work beautifully. I suggest bending the tips so you don't poke the fabric. It is easier to do with pliers but not impossible to do with fingers. I'm definitely gonna try this pattern out

And I agree with another person who mentioned room around the mouth for air flow. I’ve also added a nose bridge and I sew large hair ties into the side for the elastic. It’s a year on, we’re still in and out of lockdown here in Australia, very likely will still be wearing masks by Christmas so I’m making a mask with some Christmas fabric and guess which pattern I’m using? Yep, this one! Stay safe and God bless you.

I went ahead and just made one and it turned out GREAT. I’ve made over 15 different patterns and this one truly fits MY face the best. I’m able to open my mouth wide without pulling it off my nose so it’s good for someone who needs to talk a lot while wearing a mask. However, I have a smaller face. I would recommend going up to her larger size if this one is too small for you. Thank you so much!

@@anuchawla7183 In that order I sew together the two pieces of fabric at the top of the mask and hem *separately* the two pieces of fabric at the bottom so that if needed I can slip a filer inside ( plus it makes it easier to iron the mask after washing ). Then I fold together the two pieces of fabric at the two ends ( right and left) and sew to them a triangle of the same fabric, approximately 9.5 cm X 12.5 X 12.5 before hemming, sew the base ( the shorter side ) to both ends, fold in and sew the top of the triangle inside the mask then slip elastics to be worn round each ear. I hope the above explanations will be of use to you. I have before and since tried making other masks and always come back to this because it's the only one I can wear without breathing through my mouth like a fish out of water but normally through my nose and the more comfortable a mask is the less you are tempted to constantly fiddle with it. Honestly I can't understand the 2.6 K "thumb down"... if they know a better, easier to make mask they should show us in a video!
