late but that's sonix syndrome- people always calling out sonix for being campy yet he's the most aggressive sonic player over the likes of wrath and ken- and ken for some reason gets so much more respect which is completely wrong on so many levels. Here's the thing though, at least going by the gameplay here, apollokage mixes cqc a lot more into his gameplay and tbh- it's what pelca is missing here. It feels that pelca relies on his defensive gameplay too much so that his ability to mix close up pressure is lacking.

It's the matchup. DK has better advantage state and one of the best grabs in the game, but he's gotta get in to do that stuff. Pelca is playing the matchup correctly by zoning with grenades and fishing for advantage off the blasts, because he would lose if he just tried to fight DK head on.
When Pelca doesn't know how to play he just spams like an idiot. You should watch his match with Ally. He burned through the B button pretty quickly. Idk how he's considered a pro.
I wont say the snake player is bad, in fact they’re very intentional with their projectile spam. That said, it’s still projectile spam and is less fun to watch.

Except snake is heavy for no reason and it doesn’t cost him as much to spam. DK imo is too light and should be heavier. That on top of the grenade explosions having a smaller hitbox for him specifically makes him hard to play around unless you don’t engage… but that’s all of ultimate so
