      The glass jug and silicone molds probably would be fine after very thorough washing because neither of these materials are porous, but it's good to be cautious.

    I'm pretty much 100% certain that the "Microwave reheatable" text is purely intended for the plastic container the wax came in, not the wax itself, but great vid nonetheless!
    Edit:
    Most generic plastic tubs are sold specifying that they are microwave safe. Just because the manufacturer of the product used these plastic tubs, doesn't mean it's necessary to microwave the product it is used for itself. Just like glue is labeled Non-toxic, just because it's labeled that way doesn't mean you *have* to eat it :)

      04:36 The reversed imaging is written on the bottom of the plastic container, but the other “microwave reheatable” text looks like it is printed on the gel wax directly

    • @jochippy
      @jochippy 2 ปีที่แล้ว +30

      @@Boredchinchilla No, pretty sure it was imprinted onto the wax from the plastic cover. At 3:56 you can see the cover is lifted and it says the text, and since it's embossed, it also impressed on the wax pressed onto the cover :)

      Thank you! Yes, I really try to cover all the bases because the biggest risk are people doing things unsafely rather than the materials themselves. Microwaves in particularly are often not treated with the same caution as an oven or stove.

    For painting your squishies, have you ever tried using fabric paint instead of acrylic? It might be a bit stretchier and may not crack as much as the acrylic :)

    • @Boredchinchilla
      @Boredchinchilla 2 ปีที่แล้ว +20

      If you add fabric softener to regular acrylic paint it will make it flexible and soft feeling. You can also buy an additive in the craft store that will do the same thing by turning acrylic paint into fabric paint.

I already have the type of measurement cup mentioned along with a surplus of mochis for Chrismas. I just need to grab my gas mask, safety goggles, and my old microwave and then melt them slowly but surely. If there are any flaws, Maqaroon, please help, but if not, wish me luck!

    One more thing about PYREX. You must make sure you have the right PYREX. There are two PYREX brands, one in capital letters and one in lower case. The lower case one cannot be used in the microwave or the oven. They are not made out of the same glass, and are cheaper. This is why people have had pyrex shatter or explode on them. PYREX is the special glass that can be safe at 300 degrees C, and although they are usually more expensive, they’re extremely versatile and hard to break. My PYREX measuring cup is one of the best things in my kitchen…Cus I can put hot or cold things in it, can put it in the microwave, and they’re pretty accurate. Also the lettering doesn’t rub off easily at all.
    If you’re not sure what your Pyrex is, check the label on it. Lower case means not safe at high temperatures, capital means you’re good.

    To everybody in the comments I definitely suggest that you listen about the safety precautions that she put in this video !!!! my clumsy self was making mac & cheese and I thought it would be a good idea to put boiling water in a glass measuring cup like the one that she has except a regular one… My mom got mad at me for being in the kitchen making mac & cheese but I told her “ well stop complaining because I did a really good job with this mac & cheese see“…. In that moment the glass that the boiling water was in exploded and got EVERYWHERE . I got hit by glass and the boiling water was everywhere nobody got hurt but it was definitely a surprise and let’s just say that was the last time I was allowed to do anything in the kitchen alone……
    With that being said …. Some kids may mistake the glass she used as the regular kind u can find in ur cabinets and try to microwave it. That’s not a good idea ! If u see this comment stay safe ! God loves you and I hope u have a really great day 💗🙌!!!!!

    A painting method: have you thought about painting details like expressions and such into the molds itself using some of the squishy gel? Like you mix up the colors you want in small amounts so you don't waste too much of the rubber compound, paint it into the molds, wait like... 12 hours or something, then pour in the second color. Afterwards if you are careful not to bump the designs you'd painted on off the walls of the mold, yet the material is sticky enough to not blend/merge with the other squishy rubber, since I think that happens with some of this resin material if you were to pour two colors, amd I right? making them turn cloudy or something?
