It would be great for Collin to also have a chance to raise his dream dog. I will caution that BMDs have a pretty short life expectancy (6 to 8 yrs) compared to Goldens, so just be aware of that ahead of time.
We have two labs. My first time with two dogs full time - more than twice the work because you’re managing both dogs plus managing their relationship - but so many sweet moments!!

In all fairness when you guys got Murphy . I think that was all Bianca and then it became an agreement to both . If the Bernie Mountain dogs is like a golden but different. I believe it would be fair to let Colin get this dog , so Murphy is for Bianca and the Bernie is for Collin. Best of both worlds 😍💕😊
My brother and sister in law have a golden and Burmese Mountain dog and they are amazing together. Honesty your right same dog different coat! Their Burmese is sooo gentle even though he is huge!

I would agree with Colin in getting something different rather than a second golden! I did have a golden growing up and he was an amazing family dog but I wouldnt have had two at the same time:) Bernese Mountain dogs also don't live as long though so I could never fathom that breed for myself! We have a border collie/husky rescue and I'd 100% get herding dogs again!

Bernese Mountain dogs are great as long as you don’t mind a grizzly bear sized animal leaving mountains of long dark fur all over your light furniture 😂
I may be biased because I have one but you must get another golden! I want 2 SO bad but my hubby is just like Collin in he doesn’t want another dog. ☹️. Well didn’t. Anyway, my vote is for another Golden Retriever. 😍
Berners match perfectly to a golden. Berners are great family dogs. But climate makes a big deal for those babes. I will say though you need to make SURE that Murph will be okay with another dog. It’s not always the case. My dachshund hates my golden that I got when he was 4. So we live a life of doggy gates and shuffles. I don’t trust even training together just because of the size difference. Rehoming my golden wouldn’t be a question for me either because I chose this.
Always a silent watcher, but felt like I had to weigh in on this one!! We gave a Berner and she is a black, brown, and white version of Murphy. I would have 50 of them if I could. I might be biased but 100000% a Bernese next🥰

We have two & they are the BEST!!!! IF I ever had to get a different breed it would be a Great Dane. We have red and gold golden retriever- It’s the best ever.
They love having another friend to play with & truly I couldn’t recommend it enough

OMG I’m with Colin lol it’s funny because I have the same dream but the opposite. My husband wants a golden but I want a Bernese! I do have to say, Bernese are SO cute and just as amazing as Goldens. We almost got one of those before they wanted $3000 for just one LOL we were like nope. Let’s get another golden for half that price 😂
I think it depends on what kind of dog person you are. I’m an overall big dog nerd. I have interest in all sorts of kinds of big dogs. I want to learn and raise different breeds to get to know what makes them special in their own ways. Not everyone is like that. Some people are pug nerds. Others are lab nerds. Maybe y’all are just GR nerds.

I will say I support Bianca's dream in having two golden's, but I personally would rather have variety so I would go with Collin's option. You two are going to have a long, long life together, and there will be plenty of opportunity to get more golden's in the future, so maybe throw Collin a bone on this one and let him be happy lol
