If City are boring there’s no one to blame but their opponents. The best teams in history would struggle to break down this low block every week. See FC Barcelona vs Chelsea UCL semifinal in 2012. Frank has lost his mind with this one.
I used to think like that but I think that's not true. If you watch City as soon as the game starts getting interesting for both they kill the game by passing the ball 1000 times without threatening.

@@nyasha234 You people confuse the game being in jeopardy of either team being able to win with playing style. When teams attack City, the game is exciting and high scoring. When teams sit back and play for counters, City are forced to pass side to side to break them down. Rivals and neutrals think it’s “boring” because City win 9/10 games. It’s quite telling how little football intelligence TH-cam commenters have when you say such blatantly incorrect things. City have been the highest scoring side in the league almost every season for a decade.

Attacking players cannot be offside directly from a corner kick. Although Silva and Sa initially had the slightest of comings together when the kick was initially taken, Silva was not in an offsides position directly from the corner kick. By the time Stones headed the ball, and the offsides line was actually set, Silva was behind the second to last defender but clearly out of Sa’s path and Sa had an unobstructed view of Stone’s header with no interference from Silva. That was 100% the correct call. Anyone complaining about the call needs to touch up on the basic laws of the game. It was the correct decision.

The truth is the best versions of City for Halaand was the earliest 100 points and 98 points teams. Those teams with Sane, Sterling, Silva and KDB were electric. So many cutbacks passes and those Teams scored the most goals per season.

When its a close game and City win with a last minute goal they say its boring. Why don't they just admit what they mean is they hate thier team cant win the league because City are better.

Pep’s system still works very well. But teams have figured out that City’s wide players offer zero width. The likes of Grealish, Silva, and Savinho always cut inside, recycle possession and never provide first time service to Haaland. Without De Bruyne making underlapping runs and putting in crosses, City have next to no width and Haaland is taken out of the match because City’s wide players refuse to put in first time service when opposing defenders are most vulnerable. The end result is highly disciplined teams sit in deep, allow no space in behind for Haaland to run into, congest the middle of the pitch, and very rarely have to defend running back toward their own goal. Instead, everything is in front of them and Haaland is constantly isolated in a defensive box by himself between six opponents. Although Doku is quick, Pep needs to start recruiting fast and direct wingers to make his system more unpredictable and draw teams out of their shells.

Every time a team decides to attack City it's a good game. So it's really up to the opponent. Reminds me of how everyone was scared of tiki taka until Bayern completely destroyed them with phyisical football. Problem is City is very physical as well. lol

Don't blame Pep or city, blame the opposition. If 90% of the opposition sit deep and defend for 90mins and try to counter, then it can get boring watching City just keep the ball and casually build up to a goal. Compare that to when they play teams that go toe to toe Like against Liverpool and Real Madrid. They play the exact same way but it doesn't seem boring does it?? So to me it's less about city being boring as a rule and more about opposing teams offering very little in the game that makes the overall game seem boring. Plus they keep winning so I think that adds to the idea of "boredom"
