Love this figure. Hopefully they create some more contemporary figures for us guys not so into SciFi. Not into the bulky space marine, or bulky guns from wasteland characters. I hope they update crossfire one day. Updated swat or policeman lol. Thanks bro for your amazing content. Positive vibes in these troubling times. Thanks brother.
Thank you for the support mate! I think the suited assassin figure is a genius idea from Joytoy. A normal suited character with the optional sci fi helmet. They should try and come up with more ideas like that to appeal to a varied audience. The next Lifearter figures may have some civilians incoming. Watch this space! An excellent video and review. I really like the Boyang Feng figure. I swapped out the head for a Gregson head and the vest I swapped out the vest for the leather jacket from Masan. I now have a figure that fits in with my narrative.
Boyang Feng is a great base buck!
I just got into these. I ordered the assassin. Red warrior and Blade Sickle. I'm already liking the figures. I use these to help me draw my manga
Nice! Welcome to the 1/18 joytoy addiction. I didn't pick up the Red Blade and Black Sickle figures, but they're based off the Steel figure packs which are probably the best armoured sets. Good review. I just got the Suited Assassin this week. This buck feels a little fragile compared to some earlier JT bucks. He's okay, though. I bought a 2022 Batmobile for him to drive.
Cheers Steven! Yeah, he definitely feels more fragile, but it's actually OK with rigorous posing. The toes are the main drawback, they're so loose! I may try and thicken the joints. Ah man, I really want that new batmobile but can't find it in the UK right now

I know, old video again. But the only value I see in Boyang Feng? That's a dope sword. Reminds me of one of the unlocks from 'Ghostrunner' for PC.
And don't get me wrong, suited assassin's suit looks *good*, but I can't justify a 'nice slick suit' figure at a Joytoy price.
Also Joytoy should just sell boxes of armor and such they've already made, just in different colors. That way I can kitbash forever.
Yeah, unless you're into Boyang's look there's not many accessories. The sword is good but was released elsewhere. Suited Assassin is just a solid suited figure. That's it! lol selling armour options would be so good! That is part of the fun with Joytoy
Hoi hoi! Another great video. I ordered the assassin, I like that one. I never ordered the other one, but after your review, I will do now. I have ordered a few of the Mercenary K figures, they’ve came with stiff joints, but they’ve loosened up fine once I put them in hot water. I’m going to use them as umbrella. I think Skelly needs to wear a dapper suit like that more often 💀
Hey lockdown! Yeah, I really like all the new Dark Source figures. I've managed to loosen up mercenary K as well, after my initial disappointment. I'll be doing a vid with him and Gregson. Yes, I remember seeing the prototypes for the Suited figure and thinking of lil Skelly! I do miss his old suit and turtle neck, I may have to bring that out again 💀
In my opinion, Boyang Feng is the best Joytoy figure that I have in hand (that includes Rego, all the Grim Reapers, Steiner and the Suited Assassin). Still could use a few improvements though. The pants could be a little darker, I don't like that canister on his vest and the gunslinger belt/holster had to go. But that's me and if others like him out of the box, that is fine too. I won't be using the helmets for Feng or the Suited Assassin.
Yes, I was pleasantly surprised by Boyang. I see him as a major player in my universe now. He feels like a main protagonist. Do you have any idea what that cannister on the back is supposed to be?

I just find a suitable place to put the magnet and glue it on. I use N52 2mm dia x 1mm neodymium disc magnets

Joytoy should add white sleeve for suited assassin, so ist not meaningless to take off the jacket.

people say the joints are not as loose on the Assassin figure in comparison to Boyang Feng or Steiner, thoughts?
Weirdly enough, the only looseness I've had on both Steiner and Boyang Feng is their left leg. Steiner's is very loose for me, but besides that everything else is normal

Oooohh for me, it's out of Steiner and Boyang Feng. I think Steiner just edges it with his accessories! Boyang Feng is definitely better than I thought he'd be though.
So friend with the Joy Toy line do all the figures follow a story line? Or rather just random figures with a wide range of designs
It's really just random figures, but there are comic books. I think three issues are out, but it only shows a small number of the characters

So many different things you could do with the suited body. It's a shame you can't remove the neck though. I look forward to seeing some of those ideas! The Appleseed Briareos had looks pretty cool on it. Getting a bit more sleep, but not enough...
Skelly, do you have any recomendations for 1/18 figures with great articulation that DONT have removeable limbs?
All articulated figures have removable limbs mate. These two have great articulation. Acid rain is also very good. What sort of designs do you lean towards?
@@SkellywagsTV Removable limbs as in joytoy, I find them too loose :( I honestly lean towards realistic designs, ideally soldiers
Joytoy are really the best for that. Otherwise worth checking out marauders, which are not as realistic or planet green valley

can you interchange Boyang Feng's head with Steiner's?
Yes, most Joytoy is interchangeable, but is especially the case between the three latest Dark Source figures. The head swaps work well

Haha It's a Boss Fight Studio Knight of Asperity skull head. A version of our was included with the recently released female version as well

what kinda magnets are those? I'd love to use em for some customization projects
They're N52 2mm dia x 1mm strong neodymium disk magnets. I use them quite a bit for weapons storage. I get mine from ebay. I've got a few vids called 'crappy customs' showing how I use the magnets. Thanks for checking out the vid fella! 💀
