They're not so much "pulling out of it", depending on what price point one considers affordable. Epi is still making all the normal Standards and Customs in the $500-$700 range they had been, and also still have the cheaper $200 bolt-ons. And they're all still very nice. They've just been marketing the hell out of the $1400+ IBGC models the last 9 months or so. Because they're selling like mad.
What you talking about? This is simply false! Epiphone aren't pulling "out of the affordable market"...they still offer their "affordable" range (whatever that means). A suggestion for anyone looking for a new standard or custom core H-150 by Heritage, go to a Heritage dealer and ask what the best price they can give you. I was able to get several hundred off the online dealer price. And after reading online some other people’s experiences, it is common to get a significant amount off. (Not sure about the UK. I’m in the states.)

@@HALWASRIGHT I don’t and wouldn’t buy the current Epiphones at their inflated price point. But this about what I’d buy, I’m a seasoned guitarist that gigs for a living. My grandkids however, they could easily save up to buy one of these. It’s a great way of getting new youngsters buying guitars at an access point that they can afford and a great way for Heritage to get them switched on to their brand....Gibson Corp and it’s subsidiaries have truly lost their way. Even as a gigging guitarist there’s no way it fork out the prices Gibson want for the quality they’re turning out.
Epiphone is out of control. I bought 2 Prophecy Exturas and had to send them both back because they were broken. And I mean actually broken, like one had cracks in the neck (5 or 6, can't remember), and the other one looked like it was put together by blind, mentally challenged monkeys with no thumbs. I mean, the bridge was crooked AND misaligned so the top string would not stay on the neck and the tuning keys were falling off and/or apart. Insane. $1200+ for that? You make me sad, Epiphone. Ended up giving a Schecter SLS E-1 a shot since I was already in that price range and that thing is like playing a finely tuned Lamborghini. Even if those Exturas had been in 100% tip-top shape, the E-1 smokes them on all conceivable fronts. Either the Schecter should be 3x more expensive or the Epiphones should be 1/3 the price they're going for based on build quality alone. Crazy they're in the same price range, doesn't even make sense.
First impressions are good. I hope they have success with them. More because I hope they start putting additional ranges between these and the core models. A £600 Epiphone slayer would be a good idea to start with.
You’ve got a good reputation and trust that providing you don’t water down your opinions you should take the sponsorship. Heck you could even tell people to head over to the TV channel for even more opinions etc. highlight of my week watching your videos. I’d be gutted if they stopped.
Hi Colin, I think its a good idea at this time,Heritage have been needing a cheaper alternative for a long time. I hope they do a set neck 150 at a higher price point in future as getting into heritage is not cheap. Its been holding sales up plus an Epi alternative would be good right now, hope they do well Cheers Steve.
I have tried for years now to not bring things into my home that come from certain places. In that light I won’t be buying one of these, or another brands outsourcing to that country. Just my beliefs, that said, I get it and sure see allot of products that are alluring I just do without. As always, love the video.
CYA Colin. Don't feel like these are an obligation. We're all adults and you need not get in a bind because of YT , or us. BTW, YT can suck a hot one! Between Larry Carlton, and now Heritage, it appears they can cover that space Epiphone decided to abandon with quality and reasonable pricing. Thanks Colin, you're greatly appreciated. GAS is a real thing!!! 😳🤔
I'm guessing you've given it alot of thought but is 12:00 the best time? It's 07:00 in alot of the States and I'm in the UK and watch after work in the evening, so are you not missing out on the quick clicks?
@@georgeoh-well8116 i thought this as well. I didn't know the 1st 30 mins were so crucial. The timing of the release doesn't seem to be the best to maximize those first 30 mins. I mean it's 0400 on the west coast. 12 hours later would get a LOT more US eyes on it in the 1st 30 mins. This is of course making the assumption that his audience is mainly in the US.
Great work! Love your channel! :-) Little suggestion (although its not your type of guitar, I think): I bought an Epiphone es-355 shinichi ubukata (from a UK store) that is OMG amazing. OK... perhaps better suggestion: how about those Epiphone inspired by Gibson? The ES 355 ones are relevant, I think, since the Gibson equivalents are £6k+? So it's sort of the only "mid price" one? (They have Gibson custom shop custombuckers)
This might be for me. Bolt on necks are much easier to do fretwork on when the time comes. I also don't like gloss necks, so removing it to do the Scotch-Brite treatment is another plus for me. I prefer dot markers as well. If the electronics suck, there are hundreds of options for upgrades.

The first one looks like my first electric guitar -- LP copy from Kent ($137 in 1983 - used). Same color scheme and knobs, etc. I am thinking about buying it for nostalgia reasons.
I'd like to see a more mid-range Heritage line that would compete more closely with Epiphone. Set neck, better pickups, etc. I'm a Michigan native, and I love the Heritage story. The 150 Standards are some of the very best LP style guitars I've ever had in my hands.

I have an H-555 30th Anniversary... #15 of 30. The 4 long time Gibson employees names that stayed on and bought the factory and machinery from Gibson, are engraved in the inlays along with Kalamazoo and the years of operation. Jim Deurloo, Marvin Lamb, J.P Moats and Bill Paige. They signed the label on the inside of the body. It's a gorgeous guitar. I have another H-555, along with an H-157CM and H-147 double cut. All of these guitars are of superb quality. I have Gibsons as well and really Heritage is more Gibson than Gibson is at this point.

I voted, Colin but, really, what I'd like to see is s side by side comparison review of the Heritage & Heritage Lite. Double the work for you :-)
i still cant get over how gorgeous that finish is on the Standard heritage, holy wow its probably one of the nicest finishes i have seen of that specific Finish. ill be putting my vote towards the Standard. i want to see that beauty indepth
Yeah it's a beauty... proper curly maple 🔥
top stuff as always mate, cheers Wes
I really like your American made Heritage H150. I own a heritage Golden Eagle jazz guitar and I love it. I think Heritage is definitely, without a doubt, one of the best guitar companies out there
P.S. My #1 is a Heritage 535 and it’s a lifetime keeper. Wonderful instruments.
Looking forward to both reviews, Colin!
I like what you do, I trie to watch the other stuff on guitar, but you are the best.
Thanks that’s appreciated 😁👍
Did a search on Google, couldn't find the affordable rage of Heritage guitars here in the States across the pond.
Hi Col, I m poorly and fed up, but your videos cheer me up , thanks mate❤👍😊
Cheers man hope you feeling better soon!
I’m in the states.)
it's the ungodly hour of 7:00 am...EST. in the USA. We're already playing with guitars!
Look forward to it every Friday!
4 in the morn on the west coast be we are here for it
Half-past 7 AM in Mexico City and ready for you Col… Cheers!
Another great video Colin the £250 heritage gets my vote, looking forward to the next one ☝️
Beautiful guitars, thanks for the unboxing.
I will be subscribing to your tv channel soon.
Love the end!
Very nice brand for the price. Very cool guitars indeed. Cant wait to hear them.
I love the end of this video😌
I'm interested in hearing the P90 version!
Colin your the best! It’s like you’re a kid on Christmas Day! And gets me all excited as well waiting on the unboxing! I’ve been anxiously awaiting a chance to check out these Heritage guitars! I’ve heard from many that say they are as good or better than the Gibson equivalent! Well I’ll wait until Colin checks in with his take on them!👍🎸🫶🙏✌️👋
Great video as always Collin.
Thanks for keeping it one hundred Colin.
Tested them in store, kinda like em. Will purchase a few for open string tuning stuff.
Heritage is an awesome company. Buy with confidence. Thanks for the peek.
🤣
What a great move by Heritage at a time when Epiphone prices are going through the roof 👍
How many Epiphones do you buy a year? You make it sound like it's a monthly heating bill.😂
@@HALWASRIGHT for me it’s 0 because I don’t think epiphones are worth the price.
The heritage I would buy without a thought
@@syntheticsleep where did you order them from?
First impressions are good. I hope they have success with them. More because I hope they start putting additional ranges between these and the core models. A £600 Epiphone slayer would be a good idea to start with.
I love your films and share your love of 6 string axes
Hey Colin, love your videos. Look forward to them forst thing froday morning here in the east coast od thr USA
Stellar burn at the end Col😂
I would like you to check out the Ascent. More in my price range.
Naughty! I was dying for you to open that box!
😆👍
You’ve got a good reputation and trust that providing you don’t water down your opinions you should take the sponsorship. Heck you could even tell people to head over to the TV channel for even more opinions etc.
highlight of my week watching your videos. I’d be gutted if they stopped.
Sorry late start today busy at work ... 4 am or lunch time, still best part of my Friday.... cheers
Hilarious! Never have I been so glad to be already subscribed to the TV channel! The best bit is over there! 😂
Keep going Colin!
Colin... What a 'wicked' sense of humor you have ! (end of the 'vid')... and then... Here is some 'Blah' for you... I eagerly look forward to your weekly 'TH-cam' presentations... and find them interesting and entertaining (ALWAYS)... and... ESPECIALLY you have my attention for these three Heritage Guitars (Les Paul knock-offs... whatever ???)... Am expecting (?) not to be disappointed... You excited ? Yes... myself and lots of others too, am sure... Anyway (Blah)... I am a 76 year pensioner, six adult children, 10 Grandchildren and my youngest lad has just turned 9 years age... It took 8 years for his mother to agree to marry me and the wedding will 'possibly' be in another 8 years time ! and then (?)... Just gave him my Squier BulletStrat and VOX Amp... and he has 3 guitars now... and pay for his education etc... I also donate to Mercy Ships, (African Mercy and Global Mercy) - (perhaps I pay for the annual bill for dish washing up liquid... maybe?)... and... would dearly like to support your projects... Colin... NZ$12-00 per year I could afford... You have over 60,000 subscribers... Lower the price for TV subscription and make yourself a fortune ! ... At one time I was a Milkman and made 5 cents profit per litre of milk... after costs, taxes etc but I had 16,000 customers, including some wholesale outlets... Yes... I would also purchase your guitar skills too but again... at about NZ$12-00 TOTAL... Ok... Call me a skinflint or other appropriate words ???? Luv your 'Vids'... Cheers* Chris 🤠...
Cheers Chris 😎👍
Mahavishnu Orchestra for breakfast, followed by Colin going on about his new discovery. It is a great time to be alive, God Bless Y`all.
I would happily pay 2X for a set neck on the Heritage Ascent. There's something about an LP shaped object with a set neck, that rubs me the wrong way.
Same here.
Agile 3100 from Rondo music with set neck (3200 offers neck through) and mahogany+ maple cap for under $600.
Cole the pitch man….cheers, mate 🎸❤️
If you’re considering subscribing to the TV channel…do it! It is a great community and will help keep the Guitaristas content rolling!!
What a fantastic video have a wonderful day also a fantastic weekend Colin also don't worry about the no intro also I am not a fan of the les Paul to be honest ❤😊
lol you tease! I'm waiting to find out now what was in the second box???
The first one looks like my first electric guitar -- LP copy from Kent ($137 in 1983 - used). Same color scheme and knobs, etc. I am thinking about buying it for nostalgia reasons.
I'd like to see a more mid-range Heritage line that would compete more closely with Epiphone. Set neck, better pickups, etc. I'm a Michigan native, and I love the Heritage story. The 150 Standards are some of the very best LP style guitars I've ever had in my hands.
I truly appreciate your time and efforts into making a great gem for guitar geeks but i think you should take the pretty green where ever you can and off whoever because you deserve it..all best mate have a great weekend 👍
Cheers mate and you! 🍺

Cheers man that’s appreciated! 😁🙏
Wow … I’m hoping the QC is good on these, because I’m really tempted to buy one & save myself $2,000 on a double humbucker.
Yeah man that’s a very cool guitar
I noticed at least one name that i know of in your list. Thank you to your supporters! ❤
And thank you for watching and commenting it all helps! 😁🙏
As soon as I see a guitar with a Les Paul shaped body my mind demands an LP shaped headstock. Nothing more, nothing less.
Thanks Col, I’ll come and join you.
Thanks Colin 👏👏💯💯💜🤍💙❤
I have an H-555 30th Anniversary... #15 of 30. The 4 long time Gibson employees names that stayed on and bought the factory and machinery from Gibson, are engraved in the inlays along with Kalamazoo and the years of operation. Jim Deurloo, Marvin Lamb, J.P Moats and Bill Paige. They signed the label on the inside of the body. It's a gorgeous guitar. I have another H-555, along with an
H-157CM and H-147 double cut. All of these guitars are of superb quality. I have Gibsons as well and really Heritage is more Gibson than Gibson is at this point.
I’m so confused, trying to follow the content that is all over the place. Cut the dribble and give us content! Just fuc_ing with you Col, great as usual and keep the stories and waffle-ing coming! Cheers mate!
😆👍
My number 1 guitar is a Heritage 535. Best guitar I've ever played.
@@sillysausage4549 maybe yours was a Friday guitar or bad year. I’ve owned a lot of high end guitars and my 535 is outstanding. Built in 2010, Seth in the neck and SD 59 in the bridge. Lefty as well so was custom built.
@@sillysausage4549 A lot of the older Heritage fans don’t like to hear this, but from my experience, their quality control has gotten waaaaay better since the newer ownership. I love my pre and post Bandlab Heritages though
That’s a sad outlook. Handmade will always be superior to machine made. Soulless machines making souless instruments will always result in soulless, sterile music.
I am honored to be included in the roll of honour Colin! happy to be funding an addiction many of us have, and funding the best guitar review channel on the ‘tube🫡 - Steve
Cheers mate!
Colin, if you want a change in video format, would you consider performing some music with musical friends or local musicians or i don't know, just jams or whatever. I always enjoy your noodling.
Man, I really want to hear your thoughts on the H150, but these damn new budget Ascent models are so new that there just aren't any reviews out yet. I had to vote for the new budget model. I'm gassing for an H150 badly, though. Will the budget model satisfy that itch?
@@Artymofo13 I did the same. For the same reason.
