I always enjoy listening to Gerard Labuschagne. He invariably brings very interesting and compelling perspectives on the aspects that matter for purposes of judgement and sentencing.
Thank you for remembering Anisha. I met her when she worked at Holsteins and she was always a happy, lovely young lady. I was shocked when this happened.
Hello all I binge true crime, specifically British crime because more often than not the stories are told really well with detailed investigative information. Came across the channel and am very impressed and glad that you have put the time and effort in to tell the stories and share the case info as well as you do. Thank you for giving a voice to the lost and perhaps also forgotten. I've immediately subscribed....one show in😊
please start with some background of the victim and a short history of the events leading up to the crime Many listening have not heard of these cases before
Thank heavens there are a handful of police that are competent. By far the majority of SAPS members, from the generals down to the constables are miserable, ineffective and dishonest, and the stats prove it. BEE has destroyed everything. I salute the tiny percentage who are committed to their work.
Yea i didnt make it past 07:05 when i decided to watch something else because of this...came here to watch the story, not the history of the investigators.
Hi Gents. While we are truly grateful for what your team did in this dark and traumatic time in my wife and her family’s lives (especially Jan and Morné), I do feel giving the family, especially Anisha’s mother, a heads up. Her seeing this talk being promoted on her Facebook feed on Christmas Eve was a little insensitive.
Hi Eben, Thank you for sharing your thoughts. We deeply appreciate your feedback and understand how difficult this time of year must be for Anisha’s family. Our intention was to honor her memory and bring attention to the injustice she faced, but we take your point about the timing and will be more mindful moving forward. Please know that our thoughts are with her loved ones during this season. Sincerely, The Profiler Africa Team
Enjoyed the content. The host could consider asking simple questions....instead of convoluted statement questions each containing 3-4 questions each. But you seem like a kind empathetic individual. - so please see it as a constructive comment.
My dogters is omtrent jou dogter se ouderdom. Veral hierdie tyd van die jaar is mens ekstra hartseer oor familie wat nie meer saam met ons is nie. Sterkte vir jou en jou gesin. ❤
you should allow the guys to speak in the language they are fluent in - was that bakkie properly checked for her blood? i cannot see how there was none unless the bakkie was never checked
Question Regarding the Confession discussion at 51:06: Why can't the police just make use of audio or video recording in the interrogation room, so whenever a suspect does confess, they have it as evidence that can be used in court? So, the whole interrogation can be viewed from start to finish by a judge or do we not do that in South Africa?
Another case where the South African justice system failed innocent people. Just looking at his criminal record. Wow, the second sexual case against him should have put him in jail for life.🤬🤬🤬🤬
I concur with you. His english is good but is not his first language & obviously he would be able to express himself much better in his first language. Instead now its very stilted & I found myself sympathizing with him which was distracting to listening.
Sadly in SA they don't watch the criminals as much as they should... From what I have read and heard the criminals get hold of items to make a "rope" and most times they hang themselves with a self made noose... They use strips of blankets or clothes and so on, especially in the basic holding cells.. I have also heard sometimes they have visitors which give them things & in some cases the guards watching them "help" them for a fee...
This is so sad, Worst part is I grew up in and around these areas and I never heard about this case 😞 I find it very disturbing that this man with 16 Cases against him (crimes that we know of or he was caught for) 15 of the 16 crimes were violent crimes not only against adults but children 2 of which he admitted guilt or was found guilty and paid a measly R900 to get off yet he was free to roam around as if nothing happened, If the law did what it was supposed to in the beginning we wouldn't be in this situation... People like this have a problem & need to either be in jail, in a facility where they aren't a danger to others or at minimum on a list of offenders that they have to disclose to people around them especially places of employment... It doesn't say he spent any time behind bars ever and I get that people don't want to go through lengthy court cases but seriously the police need to do more to protect the innocent people... A once off crime is very different to a repeat offender and you find a lot of the serious offenders are repeat offenders that always get let go... This disgusting man took the cowards way out and got off scott free in my opinion, thankfully he isn't around to hurt anyone else but he deserved to spend the rest of his life in prison for what he has done... I appreciate the work of some of the police force in South Africa as some of them are truly are amazing but the fact that confessions have to be done the way they are because of potential fraud is also scary, this is how serious criminals get away by exploiting loop holes due to corruption... Well done to the team that caught him.. Huge condolences to the friends and family for their loss...
We were kids in Eshowe high-school, well the boarding school when "hammer man" was on the loose close to our school in KwaZulu-Natal. We had to walk miles to town through dodgy bush it was terrible.
At last, someone we can listen to in SA. Thank you. Liked and subscribed 🎉
Only came upon your channel just now. Just had to subscribe. Tx for this. Dankie
Ditto.

💯😢
This is a great podcast!
Lived in Melkbosstrand Capetown from 1980 until 2005. I left due to the horrific murder of a friend. I will never return 😢😢
Its taking along time to get to the story
Yes very long and became boring
Yea i didnt make it past 07:05 when i decided to watch something else because of this...came here to watch the story, not the history of the investigators.
A lot of waffling
Countdown at the start???? Please get rid of it
Why?.
@MM-uv6kb I see many TH-camrs/channels do that but I just FF 👍

@ thanks for the reply. No hard feelings! I know your intentions are good. Regards to Jan!
Horrible, insensitive, selfish, thoughtless
You clearly did not think this through.... horrible to do this at this time....

So hartseer. ❤
Baie baie jammer aan julle gesin. Dit is vreeslik.
Watching from Mokopane/Potgietersus
Absolutely adore a South African accent. ❤❤❤
I strongly suggest that the sentence be included in the "more" info.
you should allow the guys to speak in the language they are fluent in - was that bakkie properly checked for her blood? i cannot see how there was none unless the bakkie was never checked
Hey Paul. How are you doing my brother? Long time no see...
Hi Francois!!! Hope you are well!!!
There are no co-incidences.
How were so many cases withdrawn and where he was found guilty the penalty were tiny fines?

What an eye opener! A serial sex offender yet never put in jail, his confession in front of 1 police officer is inadmissible.
It was not to one officer.....Jan had others officers take statements and pointing out...listen to him properly
So hartseer
Fist time visitor
Yes

Be awake and observe the smallest things. Vigilant.
Eish, this Oupa is struggling with the interview.😅.. But still gonna keep watching.. interesting stuff..
How did he manage to get the means to kills himself in the cells?

Still don't know who did exactly what ????
It is abundantly clear from the interview who did what and who was guilty.....so who do you want to know who did what?
He probably married the wife to get to her daughter.
Too much chit chat, just get on with the story please 🙏

It would have been much nicer if the investigating officer would be allowed to speak Afrikaans with English subtitles. I am sorry.
Yes, we're proud of our Afrikaans language. English subtitles would work very well.
WHERE IS HER BIO DAD?
