Ever since i bought my pixel 8 pro it became very difficult for me to go back to my S23 Ultra. Like you said one of the best cameras and more comfortable to hold in the hand.
I switched over to the P8P after using iphones since the 2g. I upgraded to the 15 pro this year and was just bored with the iphone. (ive upgraded every year since the xr) i love my P8P pixel watch2 and pixel buds. I havent gone back to my iPhone at all
Samsung are wildly out of touch. When you see Samsung images vs iPhone images the difference is stark (especially when it comes to human pictures and selfies). This has been the case for 10+ years and they haven't improved at all
Crazy to me how much better the pixel is WITH A WEAKER PROCESSOR!! Google continues to impress in computational photography and has even surpassed in the video department. The dynamic range and colors are better on the pixel as well.
Because software beats hardware. And that's what makes it better. Most Samsung phones with Snapdragon become laggy after a year or two. Doesn't happen on Pixel and iPhones.
I'm getting ready to upgrade my s21 ultra, before that I had a pixel. Ever since I got this phone I missed the pixel call blocking. I'm thinking the 8pro just for that feature
I waited until the last day of the s24 ultra sale to pull the trigger on the 8 pro . My reason for grabbing it was exactly the chip . I felt like if long firmware updates into the future is going to be a thing I felt like the everything and the kitchen sink approach will eventually make updates more difficult for heavily skinned devices ,and more meaningful for stock android devices like the OnePlus and pixel devices where software is becoming the focus moving forward .
I like Pixel phones more than all other companies But I recently moved from the Pixel 8 to the S24 The reason is that Samsung this year gave me a better user experience The artificial intelligence in the keyboard is excellent The battery has become much better The quality of the speakers is better than previous generations More possibilities than a pixel
The Google Tensor G4 will not be a significant upgrade in terms of Raw performance. Rumours are that the Tensor G5 would be the biggest upgrade. I hope its true. The G5 will be using TSMC manufacturing compared to Samsung manufacturing. Which should make it more efficient and reduce heat. Apple and Qualcomm Snapdragon use TSMC manufacturing.
It's comical to me that people buy phones to game on in an era when we have the ps5 less than half the price of these phones. The camera, haptics, and software are far better on the pixel than any other phone. Also saying it's underpowered and then saying it has buttery smooth animations and it's snappy contradicts the precious statement. Also, the tensor aids in computational photography and many AI features that no other phones do. The tensor is an amazing chip. STOP PLAYING GAMES AND EDITING VIDEOS ON A CELL PHONE 😅
I just bought the P8P (256gb) two days ago, and the software is top notch, but coming from an iPhone15 pro, i am having second thoughts because of the better build and display quality on the S24 ultra.
I'm not a camera guy, so those specs don't matter to me as they both are really good! With that being said, I will stick it out with my S23 Ultra and Pixel 7 Pro, I like the curved screens and the performance on both are still top notch for now. No need to upgrade every year, they do what I need them to do. Nice video !
I sooooo wanted to get a Pixel this time - the reason(s) I didn't..... 1. Captured video is so much slower to edit on the P8 (due to to the lower-powered chipset|) 2. The Samsung Galaxy S Series will always and forever be my favorite smartphones, especially the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, and Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. I will most likely never switch to any other device or company as long as Samsung remains in business. They just make the best phones in my opinion and offer a nearly perfect experience. However I do really respect the Google Pixel and if for any reason Samsung stop making smartphones, I would without a doubt switch to Google. The Google Pixel 8 Pro is amazing and one of the best Android phones ever made. I would much rather go with a Google Pixel 8 Pro than an iPhone 15 Pro Max.
hope the tensor 4 to be more snappier with a better graphics support.....i do hope like your opinion i like the same visor camera strip no upgrade as we see in the upcoming roomers. and leaks this is my opinion.....
Tensor 4 is only going to be a slight improvement over the 3. Now the pixel 10. Wow the competition better watch out. They're going to be using a chip similar to what Samsung does constructed by tsmc or snapdragon
@@Ray-oq8uo this year even MediaTek is a great option it matches the snapdragon 8 gen 3 and next iteration will get even better if Samsung can use snapdragon in their flagship models and still give AI tech what makes google from not using that chip for the price you are paying for a google pixel beats me.....
@@rajlovinglife well I think it's because when they first started the new pixel lines from the 6. They made a contract with Samsungs. They were still in the contract and also it was a way to keep the price down a little bit. So they can at least get their foot In the door with their first custom built chip in a flagship phone. Tensor 4 Is the last year of the contract so that's why they'll be leaving Samsung after the pixel 9
@@Ray-oq8uo yes makes perfect sense what you said hope google own chip the pixel 10 on a TSMC manufacturing process which will be in the making deliver stellar performance... I feel google pixel should regularly update their camera hardware each year also they have amazing software but still after seeing vivo. I had the Pixel 7. Loved most things about it but for me, i needed more battery life and a better fingerprint scanner. I almost went to the P8P, but again, read a lot about the battery and FP scanner still having issues. If it had the 8 Gen 3 and a better fp scanner, no brainer. Ended up with the ultra.
I agree with you. The processor is the biggest drawback for me on this phone compared to the 15 Pro Max and the Ultra 24. I like so many things about it though, but that processor sneaks in lowers my experience. Love the stock OS and the camera. The processor is why they can sell it cheaper IMO. I alternate the SIM each day with the U24 as my solution. 😄
Great choice... my only gripe is that a few games aren't optimized for it. COD Mobile runs at 60fps at max settings so clearly developers can push it further than they often do. Love my P8P
I paid $750 gor my Pixel 8 Pro. And yes is a good phone. But i would rather pay $200 more for a better phone. My 8 Pro has been freezing when ever I'm on TH-cam, ig or gmail. Cant even play a heavy game because it lags when there is too much going on. Also the fingerprint is a lot more reliable on a Samsung phone. I hope Google fix all that next year. I went back to my iPhone 14 Pro for now and i might trade the Pixel for the S24 Plus or Ultra. But this is my personal experience.
Hi friend, is it possible that Google will add in the next future update the Phone Call Translate technology, i.e. the translation of calls in real time, it's like the Samsung S24 Ultra.
Everybody knows it's underpowered. That's not what Google is known for. Google is known for having the best software and the best cameras among android phones. It's NOT a performance type of phone. They're not gonna go with Snapdragon because they want to go the Apple way. Sometime in the future, Tensor will be more powerful than Snapdragon or at least on par. But right now, Google's main selling points are the software and cameras.
So you go on and on about being underpowered, then you say day to day it feels buttery smooth. Uploading raw files or video editing is such a niche area for 99% of all phone users. That should never be the reason why people choose a phone, unless they know it's something they need.
In this social media age where everyone is uploading content/editing its not niche. There are tiktok and youtube accounts thats making 100-200k simply using an iPhone to shoot edit and upload a video in the highest quality on a smartphone.
@@TheTechPlayoffs i already did factory reset and it's still the same. Actually most of the apps are pretty smooth except the two that i mentioned 😭 and i saw so many complains about this issue too i wish it'll be fixed by software update in very soon.
I have experienced that occasionally. I would say that it's mostly due to some app processing something in the background. I would say that you can try hard reboot into recovery mode and clear cache if it gets too much. Pixel phones are very smooth.
I am driving myself nuts trying to decide S24 ultra or pixel pro. That tensor chip is a old Samsung chip I don't get why they using it. The question is why buy the 8 pro when you can buy the one plus 12 which has the sanp gen3.

Definitely no where near being the best in video. Still bad compared to s23u s24u and iPhone 15. Still doesn't compete with even the iPhone 13 or 14 base and Pros. Heck even the 12. Too much noise. Good HDR when it kicks in. Bad stabilization and alot of shadow noise in places it shouldn't be. Too bad I love my 8 Pro but damn Google cmon
What a mistake you made! LMAO. The Pixel phones are so bad, they feel like a $200 phone. I got one and sent it back. The software was laggy as hell, especially in the Play Store.
