This song really suits Leilia, from a free girl to a "Princess in law", being abandoned by the prince, all alone and her only hope, her daughter. At the end, she decided that she wants to be free from her past wounds and be brave once more and be her past self
SPOILER How can one not understand krim? In my opinion he is the character who lost the most. With everything that has happened to him, the fact that he eventually became apathetic, obsessed only with getting her leilia back, is entirely understandable. In my opinion. In fact, I would have liked to see him more in the film. Just think about it, your people are dead, the person you care about most is being used, to have children, and you can't do anything. A mental condition like that for years, drives you mad by force. Krim did everything to recover leilia, but in the end she only had eyes for her daughter, not that it's a fault mind you, she too had a bad time, but at that point krim what was he supposed to do? For leilia by now he was almost a stranger, it is normal that after this he wants to end it. The others went more or less forward, but he stayed behind. And the only question one asks while he is dying is indeed: why

His way of thinking was wrong and he let himself down this hole. While Leilia and Maquia (who btw also thought she lost everything) were experiencing the suffering and withering of the human world first person he never did, he never understood why you would actually wanna stay there or endulge. Maquia suffered noticing how time flies by, and learned to adapt to that; even appreciate it. To be happy with Ariel. She becomes aware of her surroundings, matures and takes responsibilty- she becomes "human". With all her flaws and optimism and edges. She learned so many emotions first hand that she was missing out on before in her prestige clan life. Leilia, even though her story is imo ofc more depressing, also said herself that she could never forget this world and how beautiful it can be. They moved on, expanding their world views. And Krim simply did not. He never walked that part, he always stood behind, wondering how these thoughts even got into their heads. He just had this black and white thinking that in suffering, there's not even a tiny bit of happiness, or that pain eventually could pay off. He just forced Maquia and Leilia back into their cages that he felt so comfortable in, not even realising that you can become a whole new person and just let go of the past. Yeah, he lost a whole bunch, but that didn't give him the right to force anyone around him into the place he's comfortable in. He never considered the possibility of allowing any sort of new happiness; just thought that going back and going to zero, ignoring what happened was the right option. Only his way was in his mind the right one, and that's not how the world works

He was so pure he got tainted easily. I think he went a bit cuckoo because of this. Leilia and Maquia were able to have happiness from something, but he didn't have anything(besides memories), as a result he couldn't move on(quoting his last words, "Why is it? I pity him but his death gave him mercy. He turned corrupt and even if he lived, he’d have to bear that burden of his actions forever. I think this ending gave him peace. I hope he lives a happier story in his next life

The reason she wasn't so affected by his death was because she had already seen him die.

TBH this movie is already sad, but leilia's story just made it so much sadder, we didn't get a conclusion on what happened to her daughter too but i just hope it did go well. she didnt deserve to suffer that much.
Guys i just watched this film again yesterday and it got my heart hurt again 😢 whenever i think about the details that the director hides in each character, i feel broken inside. Each character has a chance to move on but they did not choose it except Maquia Leilia chose to stay to give birth to her child but ended up isolated from Medmel. In the end when she met her daughter she didn't feel anything for that child. As she jump from the castle, she really wanted to leave all the days living like a tool behind. She got hurt not because she loved her daughter but because she had hoped a lot to meet her child but when that day came she just realized that there were no bonds between them, and she couldn't forget what humans did to her. Krim was just obsessed with the past and couldn't get out of his thoughts. He ended up wanting to kill himself and the one he loved Maquia accepts everything that came to her life. She learned the love of a mother through raising Ariel. In the end, when she saw Krim dead, she didn't cry because she didn't want to break the promise with Ariel Argggg so many things that jump around my head right now 😢 it's so hurtful But there's one thing that makes me confused is that why Leilia didn't feel anything when she met Krim? I still don't know why. She was supposed to be happy for seeing her first love. And when Krim was shooted she didn't feel any pain at all. Was it okay to see the one you loved in that situation?
Leila's story was different from Macquia. The movie mirrors the two girls carefully. [SPOILERS] Macquia was an orphan, but she found the love in raising a child which is not of her own. Leila was brought up with a loving family, and conceived a child (by force). Leila couldn't see the child; never knowing the warmth and love of raising one. Although, Leila's lines were very relevant in the story. She mentioned her desire of seeing her child even if the child doesn't have Iorph blood because it is her "own blood". When she finally meets her child, she realizes that her true happiness was "to be free". You can also feel the guilt of Leila when she finally sees her child and the child says "Who are you?". Leila knowing that she didn't raise her one and only child starts jumping off the castle knowing that it would free her of duty being a prisoner and a mother. You can also see the pain in Leila's face when she saw that her child did not inherit her Iorph genes. The saddest part is that Leila never got to bond with her child or talk with her a little bit maybe it is because of the child might not live long like her. The child only mentioned how beautiful her mother is when they parted.
I think the daughter wanted to get to know her, only for her mother to say she's just a bad memory and she'll forget all of them. I feel so sorry for the girl
The leillia is a like a bird in a cage and finally free up in the cage and leaving its young, in contrast to the maquia like a flower which withers but finally blooms
But can you explain the red haired woman in the ending,she stands out the most unlike the other iorphians because of her hair.there is a theory that it's medmel and it could be she's a half-Iorph like barlowe.
Leila's life is probably the most emotional saddest story. It was wrong from making Leila do that in her age, and my question is why didn't they free her when they let her gave birth to Medmel. Is it because of what? To torture her life and wasting it for nothing? And now she sees her daughter, Finally at the end. Then, figures out her daughter is now older and Leila has nothing else to do now, since she didn't see her daughter for probably years. Her own daughter doesn't even know she exist in this world. But, I'm happy that Medmel has the good personality that Leila gave her than her lame father.
The worst part is that Krim never knew about this and he just wants the old life back. Back home with Marquia and Leila, because Krim thought humans were terrible to their kind, because they were monsters and that's why they live far away from humanity.
just got back from finishing the film and i am debating whether i tie it with a silent voice or put it at 2nd place 😣 but leilia was truly my favorite character- i haden't cried so much until the "Fly Leilia!" scene towards the end of the movie omg
I’ve never watched the movie, but saw a recap of it. While I understand Leila’s decision to abandon everything that happened to her, I feel like leaving Medmel was a bit unfair. If this story continued, I wonder if Medmel would try and search for Leila. They never got to see each other, and since she’s half Lorph she might be accepted by the rest. Just because she resembles that monster of a prince more doesn’t mean she’ll die at normal human rate. Medmel and Leila could still bond as mother and daughter, with Maqia’s help of course. Just because they didn’t meet at birth, doesn’t mean they can’t bond now.
In final screen we can see a lot of blondes pples and maybe Medmel also between them bc I also see a girl who have similar hair color. So maybe one day Medmel really find her mother and start to live with her
leilia had it worst tbh. idk why ppl hated how she left medmel, she's traumatized and had no real emotional connection to the child. her escape was bittersweet.
I like to think Isol cared deeply for Leillia, he at least had empathy towards her situation but he couldn’t do anything about it, so maybe even in this horrible situation, she had someone looking out for her even if it was his job to

@@Aorbi My favourite character was definitely Maquia!! She was consistently selfless and I really appreciated that about her. When she chose to be selfish, she did it for herself and I’m glad she did. She was such a wonderful, well-written character! My favourite ship was Maquia and Lang. He was such a good guy, and didn’t treat her any differently when she rejected him. I wasn’t really into the movie for romance though, so I didn’t pay too much attention. I honestly liked everyone as they were all full well rounded characters. It was great!! How about you?

TBH this movie is already sad, but leilia's story just made it so much sadder, we didn't get a conclusion on what happened to her daughter too but i just hope it did go well. she didnt deserve to suffer that much.
Guys i just watched this film again yesterday and it got my heart hurt again 😢 whenever i think about the details that the director hides in each character, i feel broken inside.
Each character has a chance to move on but they did not choose it except Maquia
Leilia chose to stay to give birth to her child but ended up isolated from Medmel. In the end when she met her daughter she didn't feel anything for that child. As she jump from the castle, she really wanted to leave all the days living like a tool behind. She got hurt not because she loved her daughter but because she had hoped a lot to meet her child but when that day came she just realized that there were no bonds between them, and she couldn't forget what humans did to her.
Krim was just obsessed with the past and couldn't get out of his thoughts. He ended up wanting to kill himself and the one he loved
Maquia accepts everything that came to her life. She learned the love of a mother through raising Ariel. In the end, when she saw Krim dead, she didn't cry because she didn't want to break the promise with Ariel
Argggg so many things that jump around my head right now 😢 it's so hurtful
But there's one thing that makes me confused is that why Leilia didn't feel anything when she met Krim? I still don't know why. She was supposed to be happy for seeing her first love. And when Krim was shooted she didn't feel any pain at all. Was it okay to see the one you loved in that situation?
This is a perfect example of choosing yourself over anyone, which is not entirely bad

Leila's story was different from Macquia. The movie mirrors the two girls carefully.

Macquia was an orphan, but she found the love in raising a child which is not of her own. Leila was brought up with a loving family, and conceived a child (by force). Leila couldn't see the child; never knowing the warmth and love of raising one. Although, Leila's lines were very relevant in the story. She mentioned her desire of seeing her child even if the child doesn't have Iorph blood because it is her "own blood". When she finally meets her child, she realizes that her true happiness was "to be free". You can also feel the guilt of Leila when she finally sees her child and the child says "Who are you?". Leila knowing that she didn't raise her one and only child starts jumping off the castle knowing that it would free her of duty being a prisoner and a mother. You can also see the pain in Leila's face when she saw that her child did not inherit her Iorph genes. The saddest part is that Leila never got to bond with her child or talk with her a little bit maybe it is because of the child might not live long like her. The child only mentioned how beautiful her mother is when they parted.

I think the daughter wanted to get to know her, only for her mother to say she's just a bad memory and she'll forget all of them. I feel so sorry for the girl
The leillia is a like a bird in a cage and finally free up in the cage and leaving its young, in contrast to the maquia like a flower which withers but finally blooms

But can you explain the red haired woman in the ending,she stands out the most unlike the other iorphians because of her hair.there is a theory that it's medmel and it could be she's a half-Iorph like barlowe.
Leila's life is probably the most emotional saddest story. It was wrong from making Leila do that in her age, and my question is why didn't they free her when they let her gave birth to Medmel. Is it because of what? To torture her life and wasting it for nothing? And now she sees her daughter, Finally at the end. Then, figures out her daughter is now older and Leila has nothing else to do now, since she didn't see her daughter for probably years. Her own daughter doesn't even know she exist in this world. But, I'm happy that Medmel has the good personality that Leila gave her than her lame father.
The worst part is that Krim never knew about this and he just wants the old life back. Back home with Marquia and Leila, because Krim thought humans were terrible to their kind, because they were monsters and that's why they live far away from humanity.
This movie is criminally underrated..

just got back from finishing the film and i am debating whether i tie it with a silent voice or put it at 2nd place 😣 but leilia was truly my favorite character- i haden't cried so much until the "Fly Leilia!" scene towards the end of the movie omg
Difficult question. I think silent voice was something different and maquia was more a tragedy (at least because of the story of Leilia)

I’ve never watched the movie, but saw a recap of it. While I understand Leila’s decision to abandon everything that happened to her, I feel like leaving Medmel was a bit unfair. If this story continued, I wonder if Medmel would try and search for Leila. They never got to see each other, and since she’s half Lorph she might be accepted by the rest. Just because she resembles that monster of a prince more doesn’t mean she’ll die at normal human rate. Medmel and Leila could still bond as mother and daughter, with Maqia’s help of course. Just because they didn’t meet at birth, doesn’t mean they can’t bond now.
In final screen we can see a lot of blondes pples and maybe Medmel also between them bc I also see a girl who have similar hair color. So maybe one day Medmel really find her mother and start to live with her

leilia had it worst tbh. idk why ppl hated how she left medmel, she's traumatized and had no real emotional connection to the child. her escape was bittersweet.

@@Aorbi My favourite character was definitely Maquia!! She was consistently selfless and I really appreciated that about her. When she chose to be selfish, she did it for herself and I’m glad she did. She was such a wonderful, well-written character! My favourite ship was Maquia and Lang. He was such a good guy, and didn’t treat her any differently when she rejected him. I wasn’t really into the movie for romance though, so I didn’t pay too much attention. I honestly liked everyone as they were all full well rounded characters. It was great!! How about you?
