    Lots of people didnt like this fight cause not alot of action, me personaly i think it was one of PAC's best fights reason why is from the start of round 1 PAC mentally was already in Shanes head. We never saw Shanes right hand bombs and if he did throw the right it was always with caution especially after the knock down. Perfect example of a mental break down and what it does to a fighter. Shane was always in a feel out mode never really knowing how to attack. PAC needs to use hard feints more

    particular time. Thats what Manny is now, he give excellent performances as you seen with his previous fights. Everybody in the sport will one day lose plain and simple and you can either rise above it or fall with it. Cotto, Margarito, Mosley, Hatton, De La Hoya had all lost before when they fought Manny, that doesnt take away what he physically did to margarito and cotto. How he knocked down hatton in 2 rounds, and how he retired de la hoya in the corner? like i said ..PERFORMANCE!

    ...I also think it's funny how Pac/Roach decided to finally fight Mosley after he had 2 bad performances, but didn't want to fight Mosley when he was 1st callin' him out, had more fight in him, and offered to move down to 140 & even take a small pay.

  • @Valyn66
    @Valyn66 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    No. Not a survey of fans. A survey of boxing articles and analysts.
    The knockdowns did count against JMM in points, but you don't lose a fight just because you get knocked down. He edged Pacquiao out in virtually every round they fought.

    Yea we can agree there. Floyd has become more defensive over the years. But you have to think about it we cant complain he is still undefeated and he has beaten everyone in the sport. Actually Floyd wanted to fight Alvarez but De La HOya Canelo Alvarez's promoter said no.. Alvarez wasnt ready. So Floyd does beat the best he just does it in a very technical nature.

  • @zzap999
    @zzap999 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    I've seen Floyd's combine highlights from all his fights and it gives the impression that he's always active. But when I watch any of his fights as a whole, he's barely active. He's really obsessed with hiding behind that shoulder roll and throwing pot shots and having the judges rule in his favor.

  • @Swervedaplumber
    @Swervedaplumber 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    yea that is true. But Cotto was really damaged good from Margarito it was ugly. The same is happening to Berto he took his first loss to Ortiz and has fallen apart now is accused of using performance enhancing drugs. But when you consider the damage the rocks in Margarito gloves may have done..that's scary Margarito should have not been allowed to fight again,.

    i have been watching fights since my childhood teen yrs and now my adulthood i was watching boxing matches when they aired live on CBS and ABC on saturday afternoons the only thing that matters in boxing is objectivity not what boxer your rooting for. i have never read propacquio articles but i do notice that marquez is a sore loser

  • @Swervedaplumber

  • @Swervedaplumber
    @Swervedaplumber 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    No losing is losing. But knockouts do stimulate the crowd. Floyds fights are always boring because he is so much better than anyone else. That's not his fault.

  • @zzap999
    @zzap999 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    I believe Marquez ability to counter Pac's southpaw style is unique. Watching the Floyd/Juda(southpaw) fight only showed Floyd's tendency to leave himself open for a hard left from a southpaw. Combine that with Pac's stamina and punching output. Floyd will have to knock him out to win because fighting backwards and defensively and leaving it to the judges is risky to his perfect record. That's why Pac lost to Bradley and why Marquez lost to Pac. Being "pretty" Floyd won't cut it.

  • @RICARDOAGUAS
    @RICARDOAGUAS 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    yes marquez landed 10 more punches in the second fight and landed 15 more punches in the first fight but pacquio landed 50 more punches in the third fight there is a big difference in landing 50 more punches right than landing 10 more punches

  • @RICARDOAGUAS
    @RICARDOAGUAS 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    marquez said it himself that he was not going to take any gambles or risk in the third fight because a knockdown can make a difference in the result of the fight those were marquez's words

  • @Swervedaplumber
    @Swervedaplumber 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Another easy argument to counter here too. If you watched Margarito/Cotto 2 Cotto was leading on the cards and would have won a decision anyways the stop was the icing on the cake. Also Margarito didnt have the rocks in his gloves like the first fight to start breaking Cotto face up FYI Cotto was leading on the cards in that fight too before the rocks in Margarito's gloves started breaking Cotto's face up. Sorry.

  • @SuperGtellez
    @SuperGtellez 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    i agree. but i dont think he has fought someone who hits harder than pacquiao, maybe mosley, but see mosley ego made him lose that fight. he got two solid punches in the 2nd round and heard the crowd yelling "mosley! mosley! mosley!" and was just looking for a knock out instead of being smart about it. floyd seem like he can take a punch, but liek you said, manny throw to manny combinations, i feel he could PROB break floyds defense. PROB and if he does...it curtain time.

  • @Commentsofthemonth
    @Commentsofthemonth 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Against Floyd Mosley was jumping up and down, shaking his head right and left trying not to get hit by that right hand and was still getting caught. VS Pac Man Mosley is just standing straight up throwing soft punches, and not even trying to win the fight.

  • @Swervedaplumber
    @Swervedaplumber 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Good point. But Floyd fought Oscar at 154 back 07 5 years ago. But Floyd still had no issue going up against Oscar either. He went up in weight and beat Oscar and didnt complain about the weight but you dont have a point against Cotto that was his first time at that weight. Not Marquez is evenly matched with Manny at ANY weight their close fights and draw has proven that. Floyd is just too much for Marquez. Marquez basically said as much.

  • @Swervedaplumber

    And winning a fight moving backwards? Marquez is a counterpuncher so him moving backwards is not a problem its sometimes part of the game plan ex. Mayweather, Sergio Martinez, Bernard Hopkins, ect.

  • @Ghost10_
    @Ghost10_ 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Mosley's leg getting caught on Pac's when he got hit is what caused the knock down. And Idk wut Mosley was feelin' but I don't beleive he was hurt cuz that didn't even look like a hard shot.

    Pacquiao fought Margarito for the vacant Jr. Middleweight Championship and you know that Margarito was 17 lbs. heavier than Pacquiao. That's about it. Pacauiao could never make the Middleweight. He is small by boxing standard, he short for a middleweight, he could only go up in weight that much. He has the good sense to know where he should fight, and that's welterweight. He knows his limitations.

    Yeah. Sure.
    How about you look up what boxing experts thought about those fights? They thought the decision in Pacquiao's favor was just as shocking and ridiculous as the recent decision in Bradley's favor. Pacquaio beat Bradley, but let's call it Karma for being gifted decisions by the judges in two fights with Marquez.

  • @Swervedaplumber

  • @Valyn66
    @Valyn66 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Well, the second you question Floyd's stamina in favor of Pacuiao makes me question your working knowledge of the sport. Floyd routinely spars 15 minute rounds with cycled partners in his training. His stamina has not only never been questioned, but PROVEN throughout the years,.
    BOXING is what matters. The sweet science. I don't care about knockouts and I don't care about fighters outside the ring. There's an art to this game and Mayweather is a master at it. Period.

    with the way the judges are pacquio landed 100 more punches than bradley the judges still gave the fight to bradley it wasnt enough a study was done in the state of las vegas in the past 20 years the judges in las vegas they usually side with the fighter who throws more punches pacquio threw more punches than marquez in all three fights. in the third fight avg punches thrown per round 49 for pacquio and 36 for marquez in the third fight.

    You must remember that Manny Pacquiao did not knock Juan Manuel Marquez out, he knocked him DOWN. It's not the same. Marquez knocked Pacquiao out in their last fight. Marquez managed to do in six rounds what Pacquiao couldn't in thirty six. None of them was on roids, not in their last fight, not in any other fight prior to it, they tested negative every single time.

    @SouthernSniper74 yeah i know i agree.. i don't know why everyone is saying that mayweather did better then pacquiao did against mosley... everyone says that mayweather landed really clean punches on mosley and pacquiao looked bad against mosley because he had trouble hitting him a lot

  • @Swervedaplumber
    @Swervedaplumber 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Actually Floyd called Mosely out way back in like 2000 or 2001 but Floyd wasnt a big enough name yet and Mosely was trying to fight Oscar. Just a little tid bit of info. And by the time Mosely wanted Floyd Floyd was already higher ranked than Mosely. Mosely had his chance. What about Manny waiting until after Floyd fought Mosely to fight him. It cools for Manny to fight him later but not Floyd? Where's the consistency?

  • @Swervedaplumber
    @Swervedaplumber 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    You're a smart guy think about it. Floyd has only been hurt once in his career and that was against Mosely. Do you think Floyd is going to allow himself to be vulnerable again? Mosely may have gotten the only chance anyone will EVER get of hurting Floyd.

  • @SuperGtellez

    glady..i give manny the first 3 rounds, marquez 4,5,6,7, and ill even stretch it to 8, al thought pac man started coming back at the end of the minute. 9,10 were manny. 11 and 12 from what i saw it, was a tied, cuz neither of them did much in those last two rounds. some see it differently tho..but thats what i got.

  • @SuperGtellez
    @SuperGtellez 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    no its not, but from my understanding..freddie roach wanted mosley the year before floyd fought him because he knew mosley would be a better "entertaining fight", his words, not mine. But he wanted mosley, but mosley wanted floyd.

  • @collingoat
    @collingoat 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    I would agree with u if JMM didn't take flush lefts like they were nothing. A fighter on test is more likely to take more b/c test allows a fighter to recover from a punch quicker. It has only been 1yr since their last fight & if JMM can train to be stronger than he should also be able to be elusive like he was in the 3rd fight. He ate left after left, then left cross, right hook, like nothing...that is what stands out. If u have anymore ?s, I have an article a dr. wrote I think u should read.

  • @SuperGtellez
    @SuperGtellez 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    no im not trying to reach here, dont get me wrong..i think floyd is an incredible boxer. he shows it, and he sure as hell brags about it. i bought all this because u said wins and losses are all their is in boxing. if thats all that matter we can reach deeper and deeper. like i said, last time i saw floyd fight somone eye to eye with him was corales..and foyd amazed me there and i was hoping to see more of that but till this day i never have.

  • @Swervedaplumber

    Easy argument to counter. Actually Floyd was going to beat up Cotto back when Floyd was fighting gAtti.. Cotto was very young and his handlers said he wasnt ready yet. Cotto was ringside at that fight. Besides back then everyone was angling to fight Oscar De La Hoya after that one sided won against Gatti Floyd was trying to blow up and fight Oscar which he later did.

    the sport is calling BOXING, not MMA. Meldrick Taylor didnt put a single blemish on Julio Cesar Chavez,that does not mean Taylor did not outbox JCC and would not have won if the fight went to the score cards. He was already ahead by a split decision until the controversial 2 seconds at the end of the 12 round. . Pacquiao is a stronger puncher, which is why marquez was swollen, but the last 2 fights, marquez should have won, or at least draw, because he put on a performance against the #1 p4p.

  • @SuperGtellez
    @SuperGtellez 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    I never heard marquez say that. with two counter punchers, what do you expect? i didnt expect a exciting fight, to get the best of marquez, floyd had to be the aggresor, but he wasnt. so marquez tried to be the aggressor, which we know how that ended up for him. maybe if floyd was a southpaw, we would have seen a different fight but idk..i cant say it would have been any different.

    You're really trying to say Marquez is a more intelligent and tactical fighter than Mayweather? Floyd Mayweather Jr.? The guy who has made a PERFECT career on figuring out and out-smarting / out-boxing some of the best opponents in the world?
    Come, now. Mayweather can take a hit just fine. He's proved that in a variety of fights, but no more than in his fights vs. Castillo. At the end of the day, I think he's more than capable of both out-smarting and out-boxing Pacquiao. But we'll never see.
