    Great Q&A session. You could spend hours on the clutch system alone. I am a pretty hard core fan but the clutch is still a mystery to me. I suspect this is true of many fans so revisit the clutch when you can or better yet just give clutch girl an episode of her own sometime! I am sure everyone will love it.

    Hi Clay just watched your reply to my question about rear wing adjustment I am indeed from the UK I am a long time fan of drag racing and hope to visit the US to take in an NRHA meet sometime I have a good friend over here who you may have heard of Dave Wilson he ran top methanol and toured the US a good few years ago now I understand he won a few races while he was there he returned with all the latest techand although he was already European champ he then became untouchable over here breaking all the records in his class he's now retired at well over 70 years of age I hope I can make it to see you before you retire from competition keep stomping and let's get a wally

    Thanks Clay for the Q and A segment on your you tube video. Very informative. Your tuners forgot to mention that when you do a burnout, you are not at full power. The butterflies on the blower only open half way. Once you have backed up the tuners take off this stop to allow the butterflies to open wide.(Turning up the power). They are also turning on the data computer for that run. And yes, they are adjusting fuel - air mixture. Hope this helps.

  • @MirrockCorvette
    @MirrockCorvette ปีที่แล้ว

    This Q&A session got me thinking, and I do have a one that maybe you can answer in the future.
    Regarding checking the chassis for cracks, I understand this is done by the team after each race and upon arrival at each track. In an earlier video you showed us how the car is stored for transport and stated that going down the road can be more harmful than running on the track which is why the car is checked again when arriving.
    My question is, when the team arrives at a track is the spare car chassis also checked each time? I guess further to that would be what state is the spare car kept in and are there any other regular checks done on the spare for the case it’s needed?
    The videos are great clay. Thoroughly enjoy them!

  • @MiscRocketVideos
    @MiscRocketVideos ปีที่แล้ว

    I always love the Q&A sessions. The clutch brought up a question I've wondered for a while, but never think to ask:
    Which systems on the car are pneumatic, hydraulic and electric?
    I feel like a lot of the management of the clutch is pneumatic based on the history of using pneumatic timers back when computers were not a thing. Is that correct?
    Looking forward to Pomona! Let's go Team RWR and Parts Plus! STOMP ON THAT LOUD PEDAL!!!!

      As a side note, it seems that many non nitro dragsters are moving to a rear suspension. I'm guessing that this is due to these cars running mostly at non national ( re bumpy ) tracks.

      The cannon is armed before we start the car if it wasn’t the clutch would be engaged. The throwout bearing applies the clutch (backs away just like taking your foot off the clutch in a streetcar) when you Stomp On Ghat Loud Pedal. Thanks for watching!!!

      @@bobroberts2371 I am told suspended dragsters are more consistent. The top fuel car has no adjustable suspension other than tire pressure. Thanks for watching and commenting.
