Life Tip!... if you don't want to use alot of tape...take 2 plastic bags, crumple them into a cylinder, and outline the head where the tape would go....then cover the plastic bags with the tape.

Thank you SO much. I did a slight variation on your tutorial, because the T-pins will get sticky from the tape. So I used some quilt batting to build out my styrofoam head, then put a stocking cap on it to check measurement as I went along, because the quilt batting will get compressed by the cap, and then the measurement would be correct. Then once I was all done, I covered the batting with Glad Press & Seal plastic wrap, because it sticks to itself. Re-measure, and anywhere the quilt batting was too compressed, I added more layers of Glad Press & Seal. When I was done, voila! The styrofoam head stands up to way more pinning without crumbling into the wig cap, and the pins don't get sticky from the tape! Win-win. 👍

What a great idea! You can't believe what I went through. Putting the cap on my head. Taking safety pins and pinning weave hair in intervals. Taking the cap and pinned weave hair off and putting it on the block. Then sewing and stretching the cap as I go along to make sure the weave hair is to the safety pinned intervals. Now I don't have to do all that. I can just sew. Yeah!!! Thanks

I mean it makes perfect logical sense...because that tiny head will make a smaller wig and your method is genius!!! Because, I tried to make a wig on another manequin head and it was a disaster because the wig didn't fit....this was years ago!!! Now I know, I measured my head and everything, so now I have to do the taping!! I subbed you too!! and thank you ; )

I use to weave my own hair until I started dreadlocks 4 years ago...but this video is super duper helpful since my 16 year old is into weaves. Love your videos. I'm making my own wig heads with foam caulking glue. The idea i got from yor vid is to use some shower caps directly on the foam head, one piece of tape to anchor it. Maybe use a mask over the face and tape the entire head form. Pull the tape off upon completion and shoot the foam inside the tape and mask. When it dries pull that tape and mask away and voila. I saw a vid of making a head form with caulking foam, and put your tape and that tape together an idea is born!

LOL! No problem 1.You should put wig clips in or wig combs either will work 2. I always insert wig clips, I get them from my local beauty supply store 3. I only put one in the middle of my wig because my hair was very short at the time. Its as easy as opening the clip and them pressing down to close it =) I hope I answered it all....lol
