If she had ended it sooner, he possibly would’ve caused problems for her but by doing things this way meant that she could watch him passively and confirm what she already knew about him……that he never loved her and that she had made the right decision to leave. It also let her tidy up her life quietly before going. He didn’t even notice that her possessions were diminishing around him and that she no longer cared what he did.
