Many thanks really appreciate the comment. Cars are so much more than transport and memories of what we were carried around in as kids or what we drove ourselves when we first passed our test are precious.
Thank you for showing, the Midas in the video is my car. Yes has done 230,000 miles, well 232k now. Just another 6.8k and it will have reached the moon! Great video.
9:29 is my friends late fathers MG Montego. It was being used as a "shelf" until he passed away last year. It appeared on the TH-cam Channel "The Late Brake Show" - Barn Find Unicorn 80's Turbo Classic Car - Will It Run? 10:49 That would be the Ford Courier (or Courier Kombi which was the seated version with panel windows in the back). Had a run from 1991 - 2002 with 3 different facelifts, was then dropped when the Ford Transit Connect van come along. 🙂
7:40 - Rover SD3. I regret not ever having the chance to own one of these (or a later R8) as a used car in the late 1990s . As a youngster I was a passenger in 2 different 216 Vanden Plas with leather upholstery. Nice to know that all of the Middlebridge Scimitars still exist.
At my very first job, one of the senior managers had a 216 Vitesse with those cross-spoke alloys which always caught my eye. Ironically, I did have a 213 on order at the company where I subsequently worked, but sadly got made redundant before it arrived, so never got to drive on!!
Many years ago, when I was much younger, I remember a neighbour of my aunties building one in the garage and me and my dad went to have a look at it with a view too reusing an old rusty mini to build one. I did come away with the impression that they were pretty solid, and not just a regular Kit car, properly engineered.
Another great video. I remember those MG with the MK2 pre facelift Punto headlamps. They certainly brought some excitement to MG at the time but sadly the excitement was short lived.
Part and the stand out car is that Toyota Celica a rare sight even in Australia but that red with a white stripe Renault 10 belongs to Geoff from Geoff buys cars the Renault 10 is from South Africa which means no rust he is slowly restoring it not back to original but he does keep us updated about the progress of the Renault 10
Great video and memories of some of the cars at 58yrs old great stuff

My pleasure, great to see these in daily usage. Much underrated cars.

Thanks, I didn’t spot it was a Jonny Smith Barn find!
@@Lot76CARS My friend and his late dad are/were keen MG/Austin/Rover fans, my friend has a fair few of them.

Those Midas are really well engineered, so much so they don't have a chassis, the strength is in a very thick fiberglass floor and shell

The MG could have been so much more with development and good for the brand in the long term.
4:35 that black fluffy toy is obviously Bagheera, the panther in Disney's 'The Jungle Book'.
Well spotted, I’m clearly not David Attenborough🫢
Too many great car that I couldn’t fit into one video. Hope you enjoy part 2 as well!
My dad had a ford escort ghia. Still remember the registration to this day.
Same here with family cars… can’t remember why I went upstairs but can remember my Dads Granada (ADJ405T)🤣

I have a chat on video with Geoff coming up soon…
