We had to set a doghouse manhole on a 24 inch sewer that was 33 feet deep so we took out 14 foot of dirt And then set a 24 foot slide rail box system in with a foot and a half of the box sticking out of the ground.
In the UK they wouldn’t let you build a manhole on top of an existing pipe that deep, as if anything goes wrong in future and the pipes need to come out your taking out the whole manhole Aswel rather than have 2 short bits of pipe coming out either end.
Is that a sump line built into the manhole?
the manhole was a dog house that we set over existing sewer line , im not sure what you mean by sump line

We initially took out 10 foot of dirt and then we had 23 foot of box with about a foot and a half sticking out of the ground

That's a serious hole
Im an ex pipe layer, I've been 45ft , benched out the top 20 or so & the rest 2 - 10ft tall X 18ft with a 4ft stacker on top.
I have to trench down to 3.22m with a 5 tonner to connect my sewer to main. That depth is scary for me. Hope I don’t stuff it up
