@@elfrainbow-vu6yu He was 'gifted' these powers if you remember. I'm assuming they were taken away lore-wise. Each time you get a new blade element to use you have to dip the blade into a little container of the element and each of them is a gift from another god.
I like these blades I wish they would’ve done some thing in the new games where Kratos finds these crystals, and if he puts them on the blades, he can use the abilities that were in this game. That would be so cool in the new god of war.
The new GoW games have much better stories, but the OG had the best combat and cinematic camera. Especially power scaling, they just did everything right with the combat system in the old GoW
