proper proper love this.. i saw it when it was on tele when i'd just got the album n didnt think much of the studio version n it just blew me away.. one of petes best songs by far
Ive seen pete live and at gigs where he is comftable he plays and sings really well. He varies alot live though but thats just human.. one of the best song writers out there now.. very few left
GBF= German British Friendship. Britons are so easy to get along with. This song (and the album) inspired me (among other things) to move to England and work there. Will be back soon. UK = love music - hate racism, spot-on!
Mixed up the lyrics in the beginning “Violence in Dol Ques and the the pale thin girl behind the checkout”. He was supposed to say “Violence at bus stops and a pale thin girl with eyes forlorn “ first ...
who is the guy with the harmonica? is it some new member? I have seen him in other videos when not the original guitarplayer was there. Has he left the band? The original guitarplayer?
Oh and just for good measure, *I* am not the one who has Ann-Margret performing "Country Magic" with Dezi Arnaz Jr. on "Here's Lucy" as one of my favorite videos. Taste is indeed very, very subjective! Though Ann-Margaret's being a Swede gets her bonus points from home girl here.
Goes to show that being a magical, captivating performer has nothing whatever to do with having a good voice. Makes you wonder why the X Factor - type shows bother.
Ok, gave it a 3rd listed.. gets better after a bit. He reminds me of a less-talented Bob Dylan-working-the-pilgrim-look.. but he's really not bad. Rather decent even (performance-wise, that is).
I know what it feels like to be born with gifts that people both admire and hate. Then when you try to hide and numb your pain, its like they just want to see you once just fall on your face for thier own sick validation.
Apparently the harmonica-dude has been busted for drugs recently. How do the police know who's taking them - it's almost like they've got a sixth sense or something? Ha.
Pete was lyrically smarter when he was with the Libertines, I think the problem with babyshambles is that there missing Carl, his added songwriting ability and Carl had a lot of energy at live shows which Pete fed off. All you have to do is watch a DPT concert to see Carls energy, still love the Shambles but, just don't think they are or can be as good as The Libertines
lol ok, no problem. I find Pete charismatic but it goes no further than that. Performance-wise, well he's nothing special, but he sure looks cute in his Pilgrim get-up! Skål, honey!
the man with the harmonica really freaks me out. he looks really frightening and I think he should consider reducing the amount of pills he takes right before the show. but other than that great performance.
Brilliant song, and performance, but goddam NME has become such a corporate shrill, look at all of those well placed elegant tables and that nice clean bar and the whole bloody room, it fucking annoys me that the NME is so manufactured now, they need a rough, shabby bar with smoke in the air and urine on the walls, WHY did they choose the O2 arena!?!
I understand. You're american, aren't you? Why are so many of you americans like you? There's a thing that I would like to tell you: America is not the whole world! Suprise, suprise. Music is not only American Idol and Simon is not the all-knowing god of music.
Peter has written and performed so many beautiful songs, but I think Albion is probably his masterpiece. It never fails to move me.
I think Pete has one of the most touching voice ever...
Hello, are you still alive?

Pete's guitar playing in the intro is gorgeous.
I can't help it : I love him.

drew's bass playing amazes me.
That's just brilliant.

Ive seen pete live and at gigs where he is comftable he plays and sings really well. He varies alot live though but thats just human.. one of the best song writers out there now.. very few left
pete is a brilliant lyrasist and a genius
GBF= German British Friendship. Britons are so easy to get along with. This song (and the album) inspired me (among other things) to move to England and work there. Will be back soon. UK = love music - hate racism, spot-on!
Even though Pete's own countrymen are so critical of him it is however very apparent he loves his country
it's perfect
many many thanks for saying this =)
oh pete u ar awesome !
Mick is crazy here
Beautiful
wow! that's the best i've ever seen him perform live. pretty easy song to play though. but fucking beautiful!

Mixed up the lyrics in the beginning “Violence in Dol Ques and the the pale thin girl behind the checkout”. He was supposed to say “Violence at bus stops and a pale thin girl with eyes forlorn “ first ...
I like than the rest of the band looks like superhans
the harmonica man is high
Pretty intense!

that dude on the harmonica looks pilled out of his mind
not pills, heroin.
@shamblerswife95 Wow :) You met Pete Doherty... I wish I could meet him, I bet he's such a character. He really does come across as one anyway ;)
OMG
cool... i like it ;-)
Great performance. Hey stereosnuttan, what do you mean by "he's sooo strange right now"?
who is the guy with the harmonica? is it some new member? I have seen him in other videos when not the original guitarplayer was there. Has he left the band? The original guitarplayer?
Who's the smack heid playing the harmonica? Looks like they brought a random big issue seller in from the cold
Is Pete usinf yellow Dunlop picks?
That's what I use!
he messed up at the "newcas..anywhere" bit but u cant deny Petes talent as a musician/song writer
Wolfman aint it on harm ?
just get carl and a black drummer (forgot his name) and come on down to leeds boys :D
Brilliant performance by Peter. But there's too much backing vocals... and if theres gonna be any backing vocals.. its gotta be carl.. =\
i think this one of the few times you'd want to be pete
Oh and just for good measure, *I* am not the one who has Ann-Margret performing "Country Magic" with Dezi Arnaz Jr. on "Here's Lucy" as one of my favorite videos. Taste is indeed very, very subjective! Though Ann-Margaret's being a Swede gets her bonus points from home girl here.
what year, 2007?
pete is god! and thats that!!!
Pete Doherty is the present and future of Brit Pop!
He's up there, but I think Ryan Adams might be the best songwriter of that generation.
who do you mean by us aussies?
lol, he is wiped(the harmonica guy!)
was carl there?
this from the awards this year right??
Goes to show that being a magical, captivating performer has nothing whatever to do with having a good voice.
Makes you wonder why the X Factor - type shows bother.
Testing testing 1 2 3 postman pat postman pat and his black and white cat
different style of lyrics peter is more poetic, and alex is blunter but still touching
what kind of hat is he wearing
They're both great, but have very different writing styles, so they aren't really comparable in my opinion.
Haha! Was he gonna smash up his guitar til he realised he needed it to finish the song
don't you think it looks like pete is going to hit the harmonica player with the guitar??
Ok, gave it a 3rd listed.. gets better after a bit. He reminds me of a less-talented Bob Dylan-working-the-pilgrim-look.. but he's really not bad. Rather decent even (performance-wise, that is).
They're under the tree. dont know cant open them until a few days after the world ends.
I know what it feels like to be born with gifts that people both admire and hate. Then when you try to hide and numb your pain, its like they just want to see you once just fall on your face for thier own sick validation.
Gay
being pretentious is not the same as being talented.
The harmonica dude scares me
good but knowhere close to how poeticly sound peters lyrics are
its...how to say that? pure english? great song.
Apparently the harmonica-dude has been busted for drugs recently. How do the police know who's taking them - it's almost like they've got a sixth sense or something? Ha.
no actually the lead vocals

Oh great, the 2nd coming of Olivia Newton John.
yes patricks left.
harmonica player is crreeeeppy
great song though
i dont mind him singing in some tunes but it doesnt work here
@knightmare456 hahahahaa
still think he looks like boy george here
Brilliant song, and performance, but goddam NME has become such a corporate shrill, look at all of those well placed elegant tables and that nice clean bar and the whole bloody room, it fucking annoys me that the NME is so manufactured now, they need a rough, shabby bar with smoke in the air and urine on the walls, WHY did they choose the O2 arena!?!
pete is great... even with the worst bg band ever. pete is genious.
except for the babyshambles
get some help pete, age 27 we all know what happens to these artists at that age ??
why
I understand. You're american, aren't you? Why are so many of you americans like you? There's a thing that I would like to tell you: America is not the whole world! Suprise, suprise. Music is not only American Idol and Simon is not the all-knowing god of music.
the bassists backing vocals are a bit poo, tight peformance though top draw
You obviously don't know much about American music.
yeah he cant seem to handle his drugs, not professional. give him the axw
I prefer when Drew doesn't sing !
WASTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
nah, yours is just bad lol
mik whitnall ruined that song
way off the mark
Thumbs up if you think Alex Turner's a better lyricist than Pete?
What the fuck are you smoking...
