Chance Marsteller should never ever been at 157 pounds. He was 170 to win his last highschool title. And if you listen to some interviews he expected to be at 165 his freshman year at Oklahoma, but things changed. Never the less hes still a top dog.

Chance Marsteller was a 4 time state champ in PA at 160 and 170 and maybe lost 2 or 3 times in 4 years and it was in his freshman season I believe. He was always humble and never cocky. He never showboated or did anything dirty. The Iowa fans love their team and wrestling is one of the big pastimes there. But I kinda felt bad how they booed and acted like assholes, Tom Brands included with his little elf hat on. The kid was having trouble from a weight cut and still he won fair and square without bullshit calls or anything else. Shame on the announcer, quint kesnick or whatever the fuck his name is for his Iowa sided commentary and talkin shit because he was running out of breath and tied his shoes. Theyre having a wrestling match outdoors in the cold in a football stadium when the sport belongs indoors in an arena. Im sure all the guys this day were winded and feeling off their top game dealing with stupid conditions for a wrestling match. Im so glad Marsteller pulled off the win here especially how the fans and dork announcer tried to treat this really stand up good kid. Announcer knows jack shit about him too because he didnt even pronounce his high school and town where he was from correctly.

@CJ B Marsteller never lost in high school. John Smith should be held accountable for this. There was no reason this kid should be out there if he couldn't make weight at a healthy level. Smith is also the same guy that benched Chandler Rogers last year, a two-time All American senior, in favor of his son, who barely wrestled all season, right before the postseason. Every wrestling media person cringed talking about that situation but none of them had the sack to call out Smith. The best guys aren't going to Oklahoma State right now for a reason.

@@e2go they’re either going to Penn State or Iowa, for the most part. Cael is the next-generation Dan Gable.

    Why did he transfer?

Combination of things I think. Wasn't happy there, they made him wrestle a weight class that was much too then he ended up getting beaten out by Smith's son. He also had some serious personal issues that ended up getting him into big trouble when he got back home. Seemed to get himself straightened out though which is good.
