Riley Gale united hardcore and metal fans around the world. Rest in Power.
EXACTLY! He (Well the band really) was the reason why I picked up the guitar again after I dropped the hobby once I got into hardcore 8 years ago.
@@serpentinefire921 I always describe this band as a mixture of trash metal and hardcore, tf you smoking bud?
@@hitokiriibattousaii no one's disagreeing with that. Try keeping up with the conversation before you start shitting all over the place

*** *Rest In Power Riley* ***
power trip was my last concert before the pandemic noise, took my 63 year old dad to see them and high on fire. My dads not the biggest trash/death metal fan but he loved power trip, soon as they started I could see it in his face and he threw up his horns pretty much non stop haha \m/
honestly didn't even understand how much this band meant to me until I heard that Riley had passed. My passion for music, for one reason or another, just kinda died out for a few years but Power Trip was one of the bands that helped reignite that flame when I was getting back into playing guitar and checking out stuff I had never heard before. It felt like when I was a kid getting into thrash for the first time again. Powerful shit, rest in power brother.
I reflect this in every way possible.
The first time I heard PT, it was during Metal Shop on 99.9 KISW (Seattle). I caught Soul Sacrifice about a minute in. I was so taken back that I called over 10 times and sat on hold to ask who the fuck I just heard. The DJ who answered gave me a very annoyed and hastily response. “I don’t know man.. like Power Trip or something.” I’ve been a fan ever since. I’m beyond bummed that I will never get an opportunity to see them preform.
Mate!!! I feel the exact bloody same!!!, i'm just getting back into the game, Power Trip has been a big part of that!.
Check out my Underground Thrash Metal page on facebook man, I share some bloody amazing new stuff!!! \m/

I'm lucky to have caught Power Trip live about 8 months before Riley passed, it was here in Australia... my god.... never has a band made me feel like that in my entire life!!!!
Thrash metal is like a warm blanket and a hot cup of cocoa On a Winter's Night.
To me, more like, strong azz coffee on steroids. Hail Thee Eternally Heavy
@Mason Rasmussen living that right now except I didn't lose a custody battle and the cigarette is a spliff
If you had the chance to see Power Trip live, you know how fn awesome this band was and how Riley was vital for the hardcore scene right now. We won't forget you Riley. May you rest in power in heaven. You are now officially a legend. Forever.
Saw them two years ago in Manchester.... Riley had such an amazing presence live
As a Dallas native, it's super weird to think the last time I ever will stage dive to Power Trip was in LA and not in Dallas or Austin. RIP Riley.
I love the idiot in the white t-shirt at the beginning of Soul Sacrifice. Walking around the stage like he's in the band for a good 40 seconds, punching and kicking people and then attempts to stage dive and no one catches him.
He did that several times. Wish crowdkillers would target dudes like that instead of people just having a good time.
RIP Riley. Whether or not they decide to carry on, I hope we get a tribute set in Dallas once this craziness is over. I'd make the trip for that.
If they decide to go on, Singer for Enforced would be a legit addition
@@frankmartin9958 Yo Enforced is actually so goddamn good wtf. I saw em at a tiny bar in Milwaukee on one of their first US tours a couple years back, they're like Power Trip if they had double bass and didn't chug on the E string for every song
And that's not a diss towards Power Trip, cuz somehow they make chugging on the E string the most badass thing ever
Power Trip is proof that I could give a flying fuckballs what 'genre' of metal something is, if a band slams, they fucking slam, be it hardcore, thrash, death or everything and all in between. Power Trip has elements from the very beginning til now, all in a simple tight stew of slamming, and it fucking works. Its not a science equation, its a feel of unleashing and letting go of all that holds you back inside. Its a swing of the axe, hacking through your fears and rising in triumph again. RIP Riley
The first time I saw this band was in 09 in some small club in San Antonio. The van pulled up playing Sodom and I knew I would like this band right away. They checked every box for what I want in a band. Riley will be missed.
I was going to see them in Dallas on May 30 2020. Covid cancelled that and then Riley tragically passed away. So now I'll probably never get to see them live ever. RIP Riley and I wish his family and friends the best in these tough times.
Yup me too at that new HiFi in Dallas. May 31 was my birthday so that May 30 show was my gift to me. We had just seen them at Evil Beat Vol 2 show before covid shit hit the fan. I was so proud of Riley Gale. We tried to make every show when they were home.
@@cecefil It was going to be a gift for me too man I had just gotten into med school and was pumped for the show. Such a shame, this year has been woeful
filips C same, I was really serious about going. I’m from Tyler, tx and that’s the closest I was ever gonna be able to see them live.
Thrash metal is like a warm blanket and a hot cup of cocoa On a Winter's Night.
One of the best new bands, made many guys get into metal and made metal heads get into newer hardcore, rip to the homie.
The way the crowd in the moshpit dances looks electrified while having a Power Trip😁...
Great band, great attituded, straight in your face metal!🤘🏻
Power to the rest of the band and Riley Rest In Power🕯

I haven’t felt that vibe since 91. It was gonna be a monster!
I haven't found a live show where this band had an off night. They are one of the tightest live metal acts around.
YO the crowd reaction for Executioners’ Tax is fucking INSANE
A recent fan of Power trip. Was listening to live footage when I wanted to know more about the band. Google told me that Riley had passed. I had no idea. Taken far too young. RIP.

riley, you are and will be forever dearly missed.!!*
If they don’t continue on I hope they release everything unreleased. Or give us one final album. No one compares to Riley🖤 RIPT🖤
Why cant I give this epic performance a thumbs up?
Wtf man?
Interesting story I was looking to share somewhere about Power Trip. I was at their first show back in maybe 08/09 in Dallas at Red Blood Club. They opened with Leeway’s The Future cover and botched it. So instead of just skipping it they started the whole thing over. It was goofy as shit. I only saw them live twice, their first show and their 10 year show. It was wild to see them grow from a band playing to 10 people max to where they went to. Hope they can continue on but wouldn’t be upset if this was it. RIP
RILEY GALE FOREVER! REST IN POWER BIG DOG
best band. miss them so much
11:53 Seing HxC fans moshing on Power Trip is more pleasant than watching your girlfriend sleeping.
RIP LEGEND!
Long live Power Trip! Home state boys! Gotta love Texas metal!!!!!
Glad I at least saw power trip once...

Every live show should be filmed like this for metal bands. Gotta see the pit!
This is better than the official live album!

Great sound for another solid Power Trip performance (the only kind they give), but is there more volume on the left channel or is it my headphones?
