- In this video we will begin our foray into the world of Linux networking. Since Linux server often read from a configuration file for the network specifications, what better place to start than the markup and data serialization languages of the Extensible Markup Language (XML), Javascript Object Notation (JSON) and YAML Ain't Markup Language (YAML).
Let's take a quick look at syntax and talk about where they are used. Here are links to the source pages:
XML - www.w3.org
JSON - www.json.org
YAML - www.yaml.org
But, we're just getting started with Linux networking so stay tuned!

This man right here is one of two professors who changed my personal and professional life at RIT. He probably couldn't pick me out of a crowd, but he was one of the few that truly cared for his students and made a massive, lasting impact.
You are too kind but I'm glad I had a positive impact. And it doesn't hurt that you all work pretty hard to figure things out!
what is the link of the serie please? I couldn't find the videos organized by order
Sure thing: here are the links (I think I did seven total)

Can you create a playlist at the top-level of your channel please. Sort of a start here for - a systematic reset of your chaotic understanding of linux networking so you can solve all those homelab and home automation problems that happen in your fairly complex home network, when you use OPNsense in a proxmox vm then drop Tailscale on top and screw up routing 😅
@@petergoodall6258 :D I see the channel has attracted my kind of people. And this is for you :) chaosnet.net/protocol
