You’re beautiful and the surgery was a success!! There are always people who like to be naysayers let them do what they do; the majority of us see your wonderful results !

This is so interesting, the way your face shifted in small ways. You were beautiful before and you are beautiful now, I can’t believe people have been so awful. The main thing is that you can breathe properly, which is amazing ❤️

Hi Emily there is a big difference in the lower half of your face. I worked as a senior RGN (UK) or RN (US and Canada) for several years in maxillofacial and I've never seen this surgery - it's not routinely done. It is a major maxfax surgery and should never be undertaken lightly - no surgery should. What a difference though and I'm really glad your breathing and sleep has improved. I think you look great and that is a film star smile for sure. I thought your face was pretty before, but it is more even now and looks great. No one has a completely symmetrical face - we just don't. In fact that is one reason why CGI faces never look "right". All in all I'm glad you're happy with the results and you look fab. Both braces and invisiline can cause a slight lisp, but that should settle down once you're used to not wearing them. Best wishes.

Your videos have motivated me to go back and address my breathing and septum issues again. I had a corrective surgery in my early 20s and now I am 36 years old and have horrible sleep apnea, asthma and allergies and surprise surprise the septum is once again deviated (apparently its actually quiet common and people end up going back for atleast one more follow up procedure). I also live in Canada and the waiting list is long and thanks to covid will take even longer to get my turn. I am also in the process of getting invisiline, something I put off for years (even with having 2 great extended benefit plans). Goes to show how so many things have to line up before we finally take steps to help ourselves and do what's needed to improve our quality of life. Thanks Emily for all your updates 😊.

You look amazing! I got corrective surgery for my septum because I had severe sleep apnea and constant sinus infections. They fixed my septum but it changed the tip of my nose and the shape of my nostrils. I don't like it but I can breathe and sleep so the trade off was worth it!

Cant believe it’s been 18 months already, you look great! I can relate to the chewing problems. I am almost done with my braces. For the first time I can actually close my jaw and chew with my back teeth. Before braces I had so many problems. Definitely worth all the pain and worth the money, too.

Makes me so angry people can't comprehend that it's medical and if they can they still feel the need to say you 'looked better'. Like you said, you can breathe probably now and isn't that so much more important. Besides you're still so pretty.

Hey girl I had maxillofacial surgery back in 2012 and I didn’t have any issues until 2018. I ended up having one of the titanium screws back out from the plate and cause an infection. So I had surgery to remove the one that was causing problems. However plus side if you do have the same thing happen to you many years down the line the pain is nothing compared to the jaw surgery :)

Your teeth will try to go back to their original position, so don’t ever stop wearing your retainers at night. I had braces 20 years ago and I still have to wear retainers every night. Almost all my friends that stopped wearing their retainers got braces again in the last few years to fix their bites and make their teeth straight again. Good luck! 💕

I've been following your recovery and I am so proud of you for making it this far! I have many of the same issues (sleep apnea), slight crossbite, asymmetrical jaw, problems breathing through my nose, with the addition of jaw pain, and I am getting jaw surgery in 12 days. I am pretty terrified to be honest, but your videos help soooo much, so thank you! Curious if you have been doing any myofunctional therapy or specific exercises to retrain your muscles to prevent relapse. I do notice your bottom jaw shifts to the left still as you talk. Is this something you worry about? I'm sort of worried about this aspect.

You look great, people are ignorant & need to stfu, I must say I think you look better now, not an insult to how you looked before I thought you were lovely but your jaw line now is amazing & I can see what you mean about needing the surgery, glad you are feeling so much better!

the metal thing behind your teeth is called retainer. It is placed inside your mouth because when your teeth were being moved they become very "flexible" so any, even the lightest pressure might put them out of place again.
you will get used to that pretty quickly, the only thing you have to keep in mind is that normal floss doesn't work; you will either need one, that is very stiff or an interdentalbrush (idk if that's the corrcet term in english)

I wish my nerves would heal. I had years of dental cleanings and never realized they were injuring the nerves. Ended up with trigeminal neuralgia which is facial pain. Very horrible pain. Did they ever discuss that with yoI know any facial surgery can come with the possibility of this happening. You look beautiful. I don’t notice too much change.

TFS. This was an interesting video. I don't watch this channel, I'm a subscriber to your book channel but this video popped up on my home page and I was curious as you had made the odd comment on your book channel. I must say I never really noticed a huge difference until you pointed out you'd had surgery and even then I didn't really know what the difference was and never came to this channel to find out. I guess I watch your book channel for your books and not how you are looking. It's good to hear that things are going good for you after the surgery.
