I’m about to start doing this with a log arch/ATV. Scrap piece of metal on the ground end is a great idea, thanks! Looking forward to seeing the cut you made for the tall/skinny trees. I have a ton of Douglas fir here.
I've had them for about 10 years. They are convenient to throw on when needed, they do a pretty good job, and they are versatile, but they can be unwieldy sometimes. Also, you lose some lift capacity since they are so far forward (compared to proper forks on a frame).
Great tips! I really like your 3 Point Hitch Skidding Frame too. Simple and well built. Any chance you will make a few of these to sell? I would be interested in one.

That’s a great idea with the tin on the butt of the log. Just got some spruce logs delivered and I’m going to try that out. Nice vid
Never seen a cut like that before quite interesting... Must be one of those things you learn out of a book 🤔😳
Good to hear someone that knows what they are talking about.I laugh at some of the people that show how to do it
Great idea, I’ve been using a gin pole attachment for about 6 months. It worked great but folded yesterday on a large Pine log.
Excellent demonstration. Thanks.
Awesome idea 👍👍
2:32 EXCELLENT TIP
Really great advice! I just bought some of those screw on forks as well, wonder how they work for you so far.

If it involves welding and metal, I'd probably lose money if I tried to make them!! But they are not too complicated to make as a DIY project.
An old propane tank cut in half would work for a skidding shield
What kind of clamp on pallet forks do you have? What is the lifting limits of them? Thanks
Titan brand, 4000# capacity, 42" long. I am planning to sell them since I got quick attach forks last year.
Did you rescue the bit of chain that slid off the top of the log? :D
Yep, but without the camera I would have never noticed! I'd probably lose a lot less stuff if I always had a camera running...
