Detroit diesel? Never heard of her. Maxidynes are just amazing sounding. That's how a real diesel is supposed to sound to me.
You said it, thanks a lot! What is more, the Maxidyne was a type of engine the other manufacturers weren't able to build for a long time.
Best sound of a straight pipe comes from a Mack. The other ones sound strange and they decrease in power, unlike the Mack that not only they sound beautiful and it's unmistakeable but they increase in power.
@@deborahchesser7375 here in Puerto Rico they are doing it on Kenworth's,Peterbilt's and another truck brands with CAT's,Cummin's and Detroit's.Nothing sound like the Mack and in here Mack is king.
fernando figueroa I agree with you, nothing tougher than an older Mack and they do sound best by far.
Creamapera an old mechanical Cat 425, absolutely a legendary motor. I like any good running motor, 60 Series Detroit, Big Cam Cummins, and of course the old 2 strokes, all of them I guess.
Gets me in the mood to go out driving.
Love them old macks
Totally aware of his surroundings-
smooth gear transition
Seat belts
Thats a REAL CDL DRIVER.
Great stick control brother
God bless you and safe dieseling out there
BUILT LIKE A MACK TRUCK!
PERFORMANCE COUNTS!
Listen to that bulldog "growl'
Even non truckmlovers take notice when they hear a
MACK DOUNG THE UUMPH AND GROWL
I might have skipped a gear but it’s a ten speed. There are 5 gears in each range.
Bob i had NO CLUE AT FIRST that you are on the Island! Then, as i was watching this R Model vid again as always, I noticed the town/631 as u were driving thru in the vid! I am in Nassau - I wish i could see this truck in person some day!
I drove a 1986 mack with same transmission loved every minute of it
237 with a 10 speed…seems like a strange combo, I would think it would have a 5 or 6. Cool truck though!
You’ll love the 77’ DM800 I found, I plan to drag low boys, no need for speed. #65k bogie’s and a tri plex 300 plus motor, she a hog lol. Take care brother
Love these old macks
these modern day computer wrench turners do not understand these trucks. I have an R model and its one of the most reliable trucks i have.
FACTS. Will always be my all time favorite truck…& w/ the straight pipe 😩😩😈😈
Truck sounds great!
Thanks for the ride
Dope footage
The guy that plowed my road had a old yellow with silver fenders And a blue dump body mack rd686st steel nose with a 237 in it and when he drove by it sounded awsome but he sold it and bought a newer mack from 2007
One thing about a mack is the turbo sounds nonexistent
My favorite truck..love this video. Any chance you’ll post another video of it anytime soon? Sounds beautiful.
I took it off the road for now..I'm going to remove the tank and put the fifth wheel back on it..I will keep you posted.
Thanks for watching...BTW..I bought a 1994 RD690S. E300 - 7 Speed. Tank truck. Its beautiful truck. Getting it road ready. That will be my next video..
MT Fuel Corp if you ever get a DM please let us check it out too 👍🇺🇸 what a beast those are. What low-boy wouldn’t want to be pulled by one of those.
Hey buddy..Still coming back to watch this video often.. Its my all time favorite haha Any chance you’d sell this Mack in the future?
Thanks.
Are you the guy I see on Jeffery Like's live feeds? Great video. Makes me miss my 89 single axle R model, straight piped E6-250 5 speed pulling a 28 ft Freuhauf dump bucket. She'd really dig in and talk to ya with 73,300 lbs. which we could gross here in Florida. Take care.
well done
Could you get those with air conditioners back then, going through a quarry with the windows up is 🥵
Whats the top speed loaded.
Nice sounding truck, and nice shifting too. It definitely seems to have a replacement engine and transmission though....if you say it's titled an RD690, it should have an E6-250, 275, or 300 in it, and either a 5-speed or a 12-speed I believe. The 237 Maxidyne is out of an older R685.
My Mack dealer says it should have a 300 - 5 speed in it..I was told the truck was originally a US Postal Service tractor.
I never checked history on it....doesn't matter to me. I like her just the way she is..
All the 237s I drove were hooked up to a 5 speed maxi torque transmission
@@colinwheeler4166 Maxidyne was a series of engines, most were 6 cylinders (like the ENDT675 and 676), but some were V8's (like the ENDT865 and EM9).
im am trying to get my cdl i live in new jersey any pointer or help i can get from you
There are a lot of schools around the country. I am currently looking into training classes that the companies pay for and hire you after you get your cdl.
What year and model mack is that my dad drove a mack with that same interior
i wanna ask how tall is driver just curious
Can we hear the air horn on the mack
Show how it downshifts all the way to a stop
Need
Rear axle ratio?
Not sure but it used to be a road tractor before the previous owner put a tank on it. It does over 70 on the HWY.
What engine?
MT Fuel Corp the transmission must have been changed, that would have come with a 5 or 6 speed originally.
Missing a gear
That is a 9 speed
Glad to see that I'm not the only one to see that!! When he didn't wrap the shift stick around and he had no problem with shifting I knew it was a 9!!!
@@michaelderoche5661 - There are 5 gears in low range and 5 gears in high range. I can split every gear including "low / low'..I call it a 10 speed. I usually skip 6th gear on the way up. I almost always grab 6th on the way down just to save me from bouncing back into low range.
Macks are beautiful trucks from the outside but pretty sparse on the interior. Not that it really matters just saying.
That's how real truck sounds!!!
I agree..she sounds great
Bulldog in action!!!!
MT Fuel Corp I drove a DM 800, 300 plus, old Mack’s rule
