‘A good number of people discredit the effectiveness of financial advisors in exploring new markets, but over the past 10years I’ve had a financial advisor consistently restructure and diversify my portfolio/expenses and I’ve made over $3million in gains… might not be a lot but i'm financially secure.

I know it's not much, but I took my first step into investing! Any tips? I'm not trying to put too much in until I become more educated. I do have a HYSA, 401k and ESPP with my company so this is more fun right now until I can get more serious with it. My problem is that I want to buy few quality stocks (NVDA, TSLA, GOOGL, AMZN,etc) but don't know what is the best entry point.

Congratulations on taking your first step into investing! I think even if you're focusing on a few quality stocks, consider spreading your investments across different sectors to reduce risk and ensure a balanced portfolio. Identifying the best entry points can be challenging. It might be worth discussing with a CFA, to help keep an eye on market trends. This is basically how I started too and I've learned to 'buy and hold' quality individual bluechip company stocks and ETFs. Got into the markets with ~$80k and I've had a huge run from 2022 with appreciation and dividends- more than triple.

The income question is interesting. I would say have a core position of Tesla and never touch them. And do some positions on deep itm long call leaps and do covered calls against those positions. So if your strike gets hit, you can just sell those long calls for gain and take a loss on the covered calls (net gain). Your core shares will never get called away

I have been moving my taxable IRA to my Roth IRA over the past several years. I am doing it for the exact reason you are stating. The income tax rates are lower now then they likely wil be in the future. I am moving it to Roth and paying the taxes out of other savings. I have also put 100% of my RMD toward the federal taxes to help cover the tax on the conversion. I expect my TESLA stock to 10x at least, so I want it in the tax free account.

Herbert, this is one of the best you've done with Cern. Very good information. As one who has always made a modest family income over my life, a million in personal wealth was only a dream. But a father who taught me how to be a good steward of what the Lord has blessed me with, my wife and I sit at well over 1 million in personal net worth. If Cern is right, (considering 20% of our net worth was in Tesla but this past month with Trump being elected has turned into 30%) by 2030, we will retire living on about 10% of our Tesla stock alone. The fun part will be leveraging the lion's share for Christ and His kingdom and helping kids and grandkids who are already quite gainfully employed making more money per year than I have ever made. Good stuff and necessary to think about before we get to these eye popping share price numbers.

@@jpmb-hz3jo That is for sure, but this one should be at the top of the list for helping those of us who have never handled life altering amounts of money. If it becomes all about you, you will never be satisfied.

It really truly depends on your share count at this point, this company is a freight train just taking off imo

Excellent. Learned a lot. You didn't mention what we here in South Carolina call Perpetual Trusts which might be useful for passing benefits to our future generations ad infinitum.
