My italian family owned houses and buildings in this town and I lived there until I was about 13... seeing things like echo lake park etc... almost brought a tear to this old man's eyes. The swings we used to swing on are gone (on the left right after you turn into echo lake park), but much of the place still looks familiar. A really great place. I wish I could afford the taxes to live there now... but no more. Maybe I'll visit some day.
I lived at 421 Elm St until 1/21/74. Looks like a lot of stores downtown are gone now. The buildings still look Colonial/Early American, Americana if you like. It was shown in the short lived TV series Ed in the opening credits, downtown was, including the Rialto.
New Jersey is such a beautiful state but the powers that be have made it too dam expensive to live there. I would go back in a heartbeat if they could get their spending under control.
This took me back!! I grew up on Orchard st, at 3min16sec which they turn right on. Saw my old apt, Great vid!

Very nice town!
Slick move turning off of Mountain Avenue and sliding into the right lane to get back on East Broad Street so you weren't forced back onto Central. 👍
