His pb average is 7.43 which backwards is his WR of 3.47... Illuminati confirmed Edit: Wow 2.3k is a lot of people that’s a new record for me :) Edit again: damn 4.2k wow
There's almost always luck involved in a WR solve but when you look at the reconstruction you also see that the competitor also had the required focus to take full advantage of the luck. I've had plenty of lucky scrambles at home that I thought initially, ooo, great scramble! I might get a PB! And I totally blow it 😩
@Gustavo speedcuber tutoriales y juegos I got 41.00 solving from yellow. I mean I could see the cross was pretty easy but I avg in the 40s range anyway these days so that was about what I'd expect.
The main problem I have about the current 3.47 WR is that people are downplaying it and almost condescending to Yusheng. I know it's not everybody, but I see too many comments that say things like "it was all luck," "3x3 WR is a joke now," and the comments that make me the maddest are comments like "Feliks can break this" or "Max Park can break this." The main problem I have about comments like "it was all luck" and others are because of how condescending they sound. Yes, getting a 3.47 is lucky, no question about that. However, too many people are crutching on that argument and almost making it sound like Yusheng is a terribly slow cuber to begin with. To even get a 3.47, he had to have lots of practice be an elite cuber. Furthermore, saying things like "3x3 WR is a joke now" is incredibly disrespectful to Yusheng, who had to practice and no doubt be lucky enough to even get the 3.47. Even if you believe this to be true, there's no reason to say it out loud and ruin the happiness of the WR. The dreaded "Feliks/Max/Mat/(insert elite cuber here) can break this" is also terrible. Yes, Feliks/Max/whoever is still the fastest cuber on the planet. However, there is NO REASON to downplay his WR and take away from what Yusheng did in order to talk about and praise other cubers. This is just something that's been on my mind, rant over.
absolutely true, he executed it super well. if you calculate his TPS on such a short solve (so the expected TPS is lower) then he did super well. if someone got 6 TPS on a WR solve then I think it's more open for criticism but he did really well
All 43+ quintillion states of s 3x3 cube are possible starting positions for a "scrambled cube", one of which is a solved state. Its probably more rare to see "Easier" scrambles. However like you said a skilled professional can make many more scrambles seam lucky. Force a slick double x cross and the next 2 pairs like nothing. Then a simple Sune to finish it off with a PLL skip.
I think most people are too connected with "WR time means best cuber" which is up to personal discretion. So when someone like Felixs has the WR, people will say, oh he has it because he's the best. When someone outside of their sphere of "best cubers" gets it, suddenly that notion is destroyed and they have to get upset because their definition of "WR = best cuber" is no longer true for that sphere of elite cubers. I think anyone who can set a new WR is always going to get some flack because they aren't going to always be in people's top 3 cubers that "deserve" the WR. I just look at 3x3 average so that "lucky" cases can be ignored.
Im really thankful that youre converting the scramble if the solve was done on white top and green front. Really helps a cuber like me who isn't color neutral yet. Thanks a lot Jperm!
CN makes you able to recognize everything with different color fast, even as non CN myself i seriously dont think there is any issue with understanding this solve though
you should practice such reconstructions but on original scramble, as this will aid a lot in colour neutrality. i am not fully colour neutral as i do mistakes or pauses in other colours but still, you should just try to solve which is the best cross colour instead of forcing white cross everytime.
2018 has been a great year for cubing. The 3x3 single has improved by over a second, and I think everyone can agree it is the last time that it will happen.
Props for your level-headed and supportive comments about the solve in the first part of the video. It would have been really easy (and I'm sure other TH-camrs will do this) to go on the attack and shout "fake!" rather than to calmly evaluate the evidence that's available. Kudos to you for showing the best side of the cubing community.
I'm a newbie/beginner - 14 days in. My PB is just below 50 seconds. You managed to solve and explain thoroughly and show how other choices would've affected the outcome, all in less than 40 seconds. Damn.

You *are* fast for 19.341. Not "win a comp" fast, sure, but by any reasonable metric over the population of humans on this planet, you are definitely fast. I would love to have a sub-20 PB single, even out of comp!
My fastest solve is 30s. I average sub40. People in public are amazed how quickly I can solve it. Honestly, a sub 4s time is superhuman. It's a sensational WR.
*To most people, just being able to solve it is mind blowing. Just the application of finger tricks is mind blowing. If you're just using your fingers and not your wrist, you already look like a "pro". Also note that majority of people don't actually have a cube, and if they did have one, it was most likely a cheap crappy one back from the 90's or the dreadful Rubik brand cube. Those things weren't smooth at all and finger tricks were out of the question, so seeing someone use their fingers is most likely mind blowing.*
The solve was 27 moves long (if I'm counting correctly). That would mean Yusheng had to have done about 7.78 moves per second, not accounting for regrips or picking up and putting down the cube. Seems pretty feasible to me! For reference, the fast chugging riffs in Metallica's Master Of Puppets go at about 7.07 notes per second.
I started cubing twelve years ago when I moved from home to study abroad and I was able to sub 20 average by myself. Now I started again because of my daughter. Strangely, the exponent of 10 for all cubes is close to its value in dollars, assuming bought decent ones. 2x2 = 3.6 x 10^6 and a decent 2x2 cube costs ~ $6 3x3 = 4.3 x 10^19 and a decent 3x3 cube costs ~ $20 4x4 = 7.4 x 10^45 and a decent 4x4 cube costs ~ $45 5x5 = 2.8 x 10^74 and a decent 5x5 cube costs ~ $75 6x6 = 1.9 x 10^116 and a decent 6x6 cube costs ~ $115 7x7 = 1.95 x 10^160 and a decent 7x7 cube costs ~ $160 ... 19x19 = 6.3 x 10^1326 and the only 19x19 cube costs ~ $1300
Great to actually see you on a video I’ve been a subscriber for a while. I taught myself how to do the cube in 1980 and the best I got was about 1.5 minutes. I have just taken it up again. Hoping to get to sub 30. Have a gan and robot, and am practicing every day. 57 years old
I thought the same thing before the pandemic. Then I watched J Perm's beginner method video and it was all downhill from there... now after about 4 months my average is like a minute 15
First of all, he had two preserved f2l pairs. Secondly cubing technology got better over the time. And lastly, he has a last layer skip. Its definitely a legitimate solve, even if he got slightly lucky. For those naysayers who are saying oh but overall hes not that fast due to average, well if you care about the average so much then why not talk about that more.
J-perm: That’s insane! How does someone have the time to do that at home? Me: It only takes 3.47 seconds to do.... that’s not long. (I know what you mean J-perm!)
Jperm: "They don't have TH-cam in china" Also Jperm: "I'll link his TH-cam channel in the description" Lol happy new year!! but yeah.. real smooth Dylan. Reeeaaal smooth
I’m not sure if there will be anyone that could break the WR after this. Maybe this guy will hold the record for a long time, maybe years. In my opinion it really takes about 80% of luck(scramble that has a lot of skips) and 20% of the competitor’s focus and IQ to take the full advantage of the luck to break this guy’s record.
Ask them how many times they did get sub 3.50. Ask them how many solves they did summary. Calculate proportion of official solves. It is WR for years. Maybe even decade
Getting lucky isnt a crime, someone decent is bound to get a lucky scramble anyways Honestly, I wasnt that skeptical, China's way of running comps is pretty reliable, i doubt they would let such a time slip if it was fake Inb4 some other decent guy breaks it next week
I do agree with you. As a Chinese live in Europe now, I have attended several comps both in China and Europe. China's way is much more strict and reliable in my opinion.
Thanks for taking your time to explain it I like and understand your views and appreciate your take on it, it made me look more into it and try and look at it with out prejudice.
Never really thought about it before, but it's kind of a bummer that the nature of this WR is so dependent on the random factor. Like, literally to the point where a massive percentage improvement can come from basically anyone. And the worst part is that when the new WR does get beat, no matter who beat it, what they mostly will have beaten is someone else's coin flip.
I also think a lot of people didn't wanna believe/accept it because they realize that, with such a drop (almost a whole second), the human speed limit for solving a 3x3 gets so much closer. Like, you have less chances of getting a World Record just because the time is simply too low. I don't think anyone is gonna get a sub-3 (not anytime soon anyways)... Which makes me think... We're basically almost at the limit of how fast solves can get :/. And with such a drop in time the limit is coming much faster... It's already hard enough to get a sub-4... Let alone have that sub-4 be faster than this sub-4... When it'll happen the chances of beating it will be even lower... When the WR was still in the mid/low 4s people could still hope or at least try to get something better... But since this record is already below mid 3s... Idk P.S: Sorry for bad English
I tried solving the world record scramble and i got 12 seconds in my first try and i average 35-40 seconds. It is a huge drop so maybe that is why he got a very fast solve.

And max park 4 years later was like
Strangely, the exponent of 10 for all cubes is close to its value in dollars, assuming bought decent ones.
2x2 = 3.6 x 10^6 and a decent 2x2 cube costs ~ $6
3x3 = 4.3 x 10^19 and a decent 3x3 cube costs ~ $20
4x4 = 7.4 x 10^45 and a decent 4x4 cube costs ~ $45
5x5 = 2.8 x 10^74 and a decent 5x5 cube costs ~ $75
6x6 = 1.9 x 10^116 and a decent 6x6 cube costs ~ $115
7x7 = 1.95 x 10^160 and a decent 7x7 cube costs ~ $160
...
19x19 = 6.3 x 10^1326 and the only 19x19 cube costs ~ $1300
What
Great to actually see you on a video I’ve been a subscriber for a while. I taught myself how to do the cube in 1980 and the best I got was about 1.5 minutes. I have just taken it up again. Hoping to get to sub 30. Have a gan and robot, and am practicing every day. 57 years old
Vincent Gledhill you really shouldn’t get a gan unless you are decently fast
there’s lots of cheaper cubes that are just as good
@@genericusername4206 bro knew how to cube 42 years ago i think he knows what he doing
“I know a lot of yous dream about this happening to you”
Bruh idk how to solve a Rubik’s cube what am I doing here lol
I thought the same thing before the pandemic. Then I watched J Perm's beginner method video and it was all downhill from there... now after about 4 months my average is like a minute 15
@@curtishammer748 4 monthes and only a minute and 15 seconds, do you still use beginners method (during that time, its been 3 years XD)
I timed myself I got 2.47 turning the cube 4 times
First of all, he had two preserved f2l pairs.
Secondly cubing technology got better over the time.
And lastly, he has a last layer skip.
Its definitely a legitimate solve, even if he got slightly lucky. For those naysayers who are saying oh but overall hes not that fast due to average, well if you care about the average so much then why not talk about that more.
Yeah it does look legit, but the scramble could also be set up tbh. Not likely, but I’m not so sure about the no filming thing being good for a WR
bro u the best youtuber for rubiks cubes
J-perm: That’s insane! How does someone have the time to do that at home?
Me: It only takes 3.47 seconds to do.... that’s not long.
(I know what you mean J-perm!)

F for Telésforo
It lasted 5 years, damn
I have definitely been living under a rock im watching this in 2020!!!!
Wow… it is crazy that this has happened over 3 years ago and it still stands to this day!
4 now
I wonder what the next wr single will be… knowing Max park, who I believe will set the next wr, it’l be a 3.46.
10:27
"That if he did not recognize that sune-er..."
lol
Max park got a 3.36 at home. He uploaded it to his channel.
CreepTheWolf I was about to put this then I saw tis
3:37 did he just say world war records 😳
Jperm: "They don't have TH-cam in china"
Also Jperm: "I'll link his TH-cam channel in the description"
Lol happy new year!! but yeah.. real smooth Dylan. Reeeaaal smooth
It has been 4 years and the record is still not broken
J Perm: "In china, they don't have TH-cam, they don't have Facebook."

This comment is dumb

I’m not sure if there will be anyone that could break the WR after this. Maybe this guy will hold the record for a long time, maybe years. In my opinion it really takes about 80% of luck(scramble that has a lot of skips) and 20% of the competitor’s focus and IQ to take the full advantage of the luck to break this guy’s record.
you were right and you are still right
Max park hahahaha😂
Max Park 3.13
Holy crap I’m thankful to have turned out the way I did

Everybody. Everybody has that time. Little did innocent little jperm know at this time what the world would become
Max PB 3.31s
Feliks PB 3.02s
Patrick PB 2.99s
We still got hope guys
Patrick is 2.99?
Ask them how many times they did get sub 3.50. Ask them how many solves they did summary. Calculate proportion of official solves. It is WR for years. Maybe even decade
Wtf bro, never though it would be broken this fast, and I would think the time broken are a 1 second differences
Getting lucky isnt a crime, someone decent is bound to get a lucky scramble anyways
Honestly, I wasnt that skeptical, China's way of running comps is pretty reliable, i doubt they would let such a time slip if it was fake
Inb4 some other decent guy breaks it next week
I do agree with you. As a Chinese live in Europe now, I have attended several comps both in China and Europe. China's way is much more strict and reliable in my opinion.
Thanks for taking your time to explain it I like and understand your views and appreciate your take on it, it made me look more into it and try and look at it with out prejudice.
Felix: Hi my name is Felix
Yusheng Du: My name is Yusheng Du and I’m here to crush your dreams
if there is one person capable of breaking the record then it has to be leo borromeo
this kid is insane
My problem with this wr, is the double xcross and the pll skip...looks a little weird... Congratulations to him anyways.
Good time reaction starter kit:
-clap (only 1)
-stand up
-arm pump
-“yeah!”
-360 spin
It’s 2023 and it still hasn’t been broken!
Frick I saw the solve and dang that was a) a clutch solve and b) an easy scramble
i think feliks will do a 3.38 in like 6 months. (jk this will stand in a long time.)
at home on his channel he got a 3.33
I also think a lot of people didn't wanna believe/accept it because they realize that, with such a drop (almost a whole second), the human speed limit for solving a 3x3 gets so much closer.
Idk
P.S: Sorry for bad English
BBCuber99 Patrick ponce once got a sub 3 so maybe we’ll see it soon
Yeah... But I mean it was once... And not officially. The odds are pretty damn low
BBCuber99 we can only hope that someone does get an official sub 3
3 years later, still not broken
Wow, can’t believe this happened 2 years ago.
I believe the world record won’t be broken for atleast 2 to 3 years or 3x3 will never be broken again
#RIP 3x3
I tried solving the world record scramble and i got 12 seconds in my first try and i average 35-40 seconds. It is a huge drop so maybe that is why he got a very fast solve.
I can't even do an Algorithm that fast😂
Bro this guy is so wholesome when it comes to gifts 🎁
Tymon Kolasinski - 3.21 calling it. 2022.
3.47 has the same digits as 4.73
:0 Illuminati confirmed
lol
It’s also same digits as 7.43, 7.34, 4.37, and 3.74. See how that works? Not rocket science.
GHN1013 How many of those times are world records
Goober Sack - depends what world record your referring to. 7.43 is pretty fast for some events and really slow for others. 😝
