I'm pretty sure that disney owns the rights to percy jackson so I don't think there's any other choices for where this show could have been made on. the books are also targeted towards kids so it only makes sense that the show does too. I agree that some of the dialogue was awkward and they could definitely do better with showing more than telling the audience about things but as a first season, I think there's a lot more time to improve
