Yeah I agree about AK: Endfield UI is the best, even the UI in their previous games, is very unique, very refreshing, starting to be inspired by other gacha games such as Alchemy Star to the game that will be released, codename: Cedar

AK really is the best when it comes to UI. If there's a tier list of events UI, I'd put Stultifera Navis at the top. And talking about events UI, they're starting to simplify the event missions section that makes it look so bad

From what i've seen, endfield combat has the potential to be very tactical because unlike its contemporary the game really discourage spamming skill off cooldown, which might explain why the basic attack feel so "auto".
They want your attention to manage each of your party skill usage and position instead and determine whether to use it to parry enemy attack or break their stagger bar, not to mention that when fully charged your skill turn into ultimate that have entirely different property which is another layer of decision that you have to make mid combat.
But yea, i also agree that they need to reworked how party member AI behave and a degree of control to their action can help. That being said, i genuinely cant wait to try it myself, the open beta cant come soon enough.

Enfield is kind of mix of RTS and Turn Base like FF12 or Xenoblade kind of game than action game.

    About the synergy between characters
You didn't mention elemental reactions (You might didn't have the time to test it I guess)
But it's pretty different from Genshin
When you use certain skills, there's a chance to drop an orb whose color is based on the user's element (blue, red or yellow)
Then, when you use another skill on the orb, it will explode and do different things on aoe based on what reactions you did (you can have reactions with the same element like yellow on yellow)
So, you have certain characters (like Perlica, the mascot) whose main role is to create orbs for their allies

So, developers of Arknights pushing limits again, trying to cook a mix of genres that nobody did before.
    That alone deserves some respect.

Very interesting insights and perspectives from the games with not too much doompost and bias, thanks for sharing an opinion is like this is valuable.
As for the question, I'll definitely will try Endfield, been playing the og Arknights since release have high hopes for their dev team even if its a weird, unique thing I'll be down for something like that in this oversaturated space of genshin clones

I too think sprinting / running looks weird in NTE (based on trailer footage), almost as if like when you're running while you're dreaming.
Also as a long time Waframe player (8-9 years ish), I really want to try out Duet Night Abyss, purely just to see how similar it is to Warframe, because most of the things you described are warframe-ish mechanics (outside of the gameplay loop I think).

The Endfield's gameplay you tried was from Alpha Technical Test, which mean there'll be CBT to improve the game more.
And I agree that the character's skill mechanic is weird, the AI should just use the passive skill and have their Ultimate ready to use. But in gameplay, the only way to charge Ultimate is player use passive skill manually, for enough amount. Not dynamic.

Qte isn't from wuwa. Discharge is already in tof, far before wuwa for open world genre, nte just reuse what tof has. If we talk the og, qte is already in honkai 3rd, 2016 game.

@@wolfstormwizard424 nte Dodge uses the same like tof, even the 3 Dodge (in tof you have 2). A lot of nte assets and mechanics use tof assets (discharge, perfect Dodge, double jump, even enemies's barrier/shield). Qte is already in honkai 3rd and it's similar thing with discharge skill in tof, wuwa is later out of the 3 (h3rd 2016, tof 2020, ww 2024). The difference is, in nte if you use qte/discharge/swap/intro skill, it depends on what your both characters elements that involved with the intro skill/discharge/qte, because it's not just "intro skill" but also trigger elemental combination which honkai and wuwa don't have

Are you familiar with Xenoblade? The way you explained Enfield conbat immediately brought it to mind, as I'm curious if it is similiar.
Also you mentioned comparisons for Duet to Warframe, but you don't really seem to know what Warframe is, I assume? The way you explained characters and being able to use all weapons sounds like Warframe is exactly what they're going for, so I'm sad you didn't compare them further.

    • @TheGameClub
      @TheGameClub  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

It's definitely very similar to Xenoblade, though I think it's a bit for action like.
I don't have a ton of experience playing Warframe, so it's difficult to make full comparisons. I have been told by others more familiar that duet takes a lot of animations and gameplay ideas from Warframe, which is the primary reason I made the comparison

As for NTE i saw someone show synergies like having certain elements in your party gives you so and so buffs.
It seems like NTE took alot from ToF but more polished and not mmo.
Endfield has a later area that has big monster skeletons but the places i think are more realistic to a planet that is still being....populized? Idk how to say it, its not the main planet so it doesnt have huge civilizations.

The thing with NTE is that it's from Hotta. Tower of Fantasy had plenty of fun ideas and mechanics on it, Mirroria was a FANTASTIC area, there's bosses with a lot of variety and minigames, the parkour was amazing, it had mounts (I loved the bike) BUT there were all sorts of broken things in the game I couldn't stop bumping into plus retconning the entire story (which was still bad and even more nonsensical) not even a year into the game to then the fiasco with the 2 versions so I'm concerned about those aspects here no matter how good it looks

you have played DNA's tech test and its beta in TGS? have you seen any changes made to it? like the colors, special effects, new characters, and new game mechanics? yes, combat is mid, but the characters are cool, but you really yapped about combat mechanics most of the time. yes, it is your opinion, but you really tunnel-visioned in speaking more of the combat mechanics and not the other mechanics and features. yes swinging your weapons needs added weight and hit impact, but you can't seriously just focus on that alone. yes you have spoken about skills and how crap it is, but then again, you are free to hate the game for that.
what i want to know, as a gamer, is the new changes they made for the game, that made it better than the tech test. be it the visuals, graphics, difficulty, features, and other miscellaneous stuff.
then again, you said that you leaved early because you got bored. it is quite a shame that you are the first one i know in yt who played DNA in TGS and was expecting more of your review.

The majority your time with these games is playing the combat and this it is the most important part to get right. It's personally the thing I look at most, so I wanted to let people know my impressions. If they can't get the core gameplay loop to be enjoyable, I'll spend my being underwhelmed, and not to mention I'll have little faith in the rest of the games systems.
