If there’s someone I really want to redshirt because I know they won’t play yet I play with them for the 4 games in blowouts, then tag them. Try to get the most of some in game XP and saving a year. Get the training boost
How to control the off season boost. Put the players u want boosted the most as starters on the depth chart after the position change option. Thank me later!!!
I’ve done it 5 times and each time those starters I put in had the most boosted. Remember you have to have the Dev trait to increase the off season boost. That was year one for me.
In my opinion it depends on how high their Ovr is coming in as true freshman for example in my second season in my dynasty i gotten this 5 star cornerback that came in at Ovr 80. He started half the season his true freshman year and won best defensive back as a true freshman. To make the long story short he went to Ovr 92 his true junior year and after the season was a 1st round pick. I almost forgot his Dev trait was star and came in with 3 physical abilities.
I only redshirt if a guy is clearly not getting any playing time and is buried on the depth chart behind better players. If a guy will make the rotation as a true freshman I play them
Depends on where im at in my rebuild but if i get some high 70/80 overall dudes with great skill caps and star/elite dev trait…theyre getting in the rotation immediately
I don't think you can use a players " overall" to determine a players worth. That includes regarding redshift. I do play Dynasty Z Cpu vs cpu. So thst makes diff. However, redshift freshmen often develop their special abilities during their redshift season. Also awareness and play recognition goes up quite a bit in their freshmen redshift season. That makes some of your physical studs much more playable. Also 3 and 4 star guys go up high between their 4th and 5th seasons. I've had a ton of 3 or 4 year rotational guys that become studs in year 5.
This stuff makes my head spin. I play in a dynasty with I guess like 30 other guys so for the most part I’m pretty focused on who can I get on my team that will help me win. For instance, as far as recruiting, I heavily recruit corners because good luck if got 99spd all over the place. Tight ends I rarely care about I generally just convert a receiver and when I run the ball I’ll sub in a lineman at te end to block. Also, I rarely notice a linebacker making a huge difference unless they are crazy high rated or below 85. I’ve got like an 88. It’s totally fine.
depends on max overall in my opinion. if his max overall probably ain't high enough to get drafted, then red shirt him to get his overall as high as possible. also depends on depth of players at position. if the freshman is way higher overall than the bench players, it makes sense to start him.
It's up and down when it comes to redshirting. I know for a fact that the only positions I constantly Redshirt and see amazing progression are O-Line, D-Line, LB, and EDGE. I constantly have guys, no matter what star rating, that are Star, Elite, or Impact, that come in 4th and 5th on the depth chart, I redshirt them and the next season, shoot to 1st or 2nd on the Depth Chart. So, I won't say it doesn't help with progression. The only positions that I play immediately are Elite or Star Dev QBs, WRs, and HBs. Redshirting the offensive positions doesn't work as consistently as defense. I do feel like Draft Boost is also the reason it works too. I think the draft boost gives it to the entire position group instead of the guy under the guy. Plus, pairing all of this I mentioned with Training Results and you are cooking with gas.
poods brotha!! heard you mention in a vid the other day that you record these all on saturdays cuz you grind a job the rest of the week. just wanna say keep goin man! hope you get to a point one day where you can just do youtube. i’ll keep hittin the like button when i see your videos on my timeline even if i don’t have time to watch the full thing !! cheers
Hey poodle great vid. I also noticed that if u have those skill positions with normal dev trait or high skill caps those would be best to avoid red shirting. Especially if you think you can find better recruits the next season. If you red shirt them in their freshman year then u can’t encourage transfer the next season.
I was about to say that. Especially if you use wear&tear and injury just wait. I remember I had 5 star elite RB and was going to redshirt him but he was too good and I was so glad I used him 3 years before he went pro.
I have found that redshirting boosts overall but they only stay for red shirt freshman year and sophmore year then they leave. I start some players from freshman year and they tend to stay till senior year
What is the best position to change to rb and they are an elusive back? I don’t like the receiving backs and looking for a way to get elusive backs through position changes
Could’ve been a glitch. During playoffs I benched my starting QB during the game for RS Fresh. He was still a redshirt after the game. Might be possible to play redshirts subbing them in during the game and maintaining the RS
You can play your redshirt players 4 games without burning their redshirt. I cheese the 4 games and make sure it’s vs low tier teams and try and max out the skill points they get in those 4 games. Idk that it helps but it at the very least give them an extra 4 games of career stats
You say not to redshirt everyone, but most of your team has been redshirted at one point. 😅 Really appreciate all your videos though. Poodle. Great content and has helped me to become a better player. Thanks!
Kinda goes inline with this video, but in a different video you said development traits dont matter if you're not playing them and getting them xp. It also has to do with their archetype, but Ive had alot of scenarios having a heavy DT room with many elite development guys but by they're RS JR year i force them to transfer because they dont development enough and they stay barried on the depth chart.
in my OD....i have a 5 star stud WR that came in as a 79 with platinum takeoff, and like gold or silver shifty. He had a very nice true frosh season, like 1500 yards and 17TDs etc....well in offseason, he stayed at a 79 which bummed me out, but he upgraded to platinum shifty which is great. I've decided for now to redshirt him for his sophomore season and just play him in like 4 hand picked user games. Is that dumb? I don't think at 79 overall i'm going to be at risk of losing him after RS soph season, but if i did i would be so bummed. Maybe i should just play him now and get 3 for sure seasons out of him ?
This has been my dilemma all year long lmao. The issue is if he blows up to a 90+, he will likely leave you, however WR is a position that I don’t believe can be played at a lower overall, route running is too bad and they suck. I’d likely have red shirted him too
2:05 i’ve been playing college football for a very long time and I’ve been watching your videos hundred percent agree this is why I restarted my dynasty cause I had a lot of red shirt sophomores leaving. I shouldn’t even say a lot just I don’t really care for it I like players to stay with my program for three years because I track statsso I redo my whole thing to make sure I had more control
This year was a great starting point but I think they need to turn the red shirt system next year in terms of player progression and it’s risk vs reward.
Im big on change positions. But for some reason, the offseason boost doesn't work on certain archetypes. QB - strong arm WR - slot OLB - speed rusher Do you know why?

You technically never have to redshirt people. Set your depth chart and guys who don’t play in more than 4 games will be auto-redshirted.
If there’s someone I really want to redshirt because I know they won’t play yet

Is this for real? You have proof lol, if so I’m about to look into this.
I always felt like it's not gonna boost all 6 of your corners
Woah
I’ve done it 5 times and each time those starters I put in had the most boosted. Remember you have to have the Dev trait to increase the off season boost. That was year one for me.
In my experience it’s always guys at the bottom of the depth chart who come outta nowhere with the biggest boost
I Honestly Just Redshirt Most Incoming Freshman Just So I Won’t Have To Recruit As Much & Only Focus On The Best Guys.
I built my depth so good... everybody sits unless your just crazy
In my opinion it depends on how high their Ovr is coming in as true freshman for example in my second season in my dynasty i gotten this 5 star cornerback that came in at Ovr 80. Bro, Jeffrey Ebron looks exactly like you.
lol hold up…. Did I say this in the video because I’ve been saying this for weeks. I call him Temu Poodle lmao.
@@PoodleGaming Lol Temoodle Poodle; did not mention it, but he does look like you.
I can't unsee it😭

I’m in a 5 man (including me) online league. I’m Oregon State. My QB’s name is JJ Rugamba he’s a scrambler. Your starting QB is also Rugamba.
Im in year 23 with a 97 ovr team… my freshman literally have to be redshirted because they have no chance of seeing the field lmao
It's up and down when it comes to redshirting. I know for a fact that the only positions I constantly Redshirt and see amazing progression are O-Line, D-Line, LB, and EDGE. Thanks bro, I appreciate that. Still trying to make it in this TH-cam world and each like/view goes a long way!

In general those guys will be on the chopping block so it’s best to prepare to let them go
I just redshirt them at the end of the year I f they didnt play over. 4 games
I was about to say that. Especially if you use wear&tear and injury just wait. I remember I had 5 star elite RB and was going to redshirt him but he was too good and I was so glad I used him 3 years before he went pro.
A guy name Lee Ebron committed to my school 5 star elite dev trait.
I have found that redshirting boosts overall but they only stay for red shirt freshman year and sophmore year then they leave. I start some players from freshman year and they tend to stay till senior year
Everything is random in the game. Redshirt is needed period unless you have a beast coming in
What is the best position to change to rb and they are an elusive back? I don’t like the receiving backs and looking for a way to get elusive backs through position changes
I got a freshman rb leading my league in running yards. Cause my seniors were slow. So i start whi ever will be best for me
If you don’t has the NFL motivator draft boost, does your position group still get a buff when someone gets drafted or no?
Every time i dont redshirt a guy and start him they get glitched and they literally dont develop a single stat or ability anymore
Could’ve been a glitch. During playoffs I benched my starting QB during the game for RS Fresh. He was still a redshirt after the game. Might be possible to play redshirts subbing them in during the game and maintaining the RS

Usually it will show you in the depth chart that you can’t or else they will lose it, that’s odd. Maybe it was a glitch
They can play in four games. After that, it’s a Knogo.
You say not to redshirt everyone, but most of your team has been redshirted at one point. 😅
Really appreciate all your videos though. Poodle. Great content and has helped me to become a better player. Thanks!
Secret is... don't due.. unless it's used for Medical Reasons, or bad recruiting season.
Kinda goes inline with this video, but in a different video you said development traits dont matter if you're not playing them and getting them xp.

Same thing for me, my elite DT’s get buried and don’t build through red shirt it seems like.
@PoodleGaming pretty much any position I double recruit, it more or less happens. For me it's WRs, DTs, and CBs.
in my OD....i have a 5 star stud WR that came in as a 79 with platinum takeoff, and like gold or silver shifty. Redshirt 3⭐️ become 99 especially MLB if they have elite
eh show me a RS SO that has been drafted. Haven't seen one
A lot of field general qb’s…. A lot
