Father of 3 here. You are gone and it hurts but you are doing more for your children than you realize. Perseverance, self confidence and FOLLOWING YOUR DREAMS. Such great life lessons. Keeping going dude! ❤
Making your goals and dreams come true is a really good thing to show your children, its not being gone for selfish reasons. Your kids know that you love them. Your son is going to remember that you came home for his birthday party and he's going to be proud of you. By sharing the trail many people get to have an experience that motivates them to do more
If you need the break, take it... BUT, you remember when you skipped a portion due to others advice and regretted it... I'd suggest keeping the pace you want and if you come up against high water, play it safe and stop if you need to there.
Loved it when you said, "I can totally do this." That's the spirit!
Omg, I loved the Neverending Story reference 😂
I am like 78% sure that was a human turd (there was even corn kernels in there)...
😂
🤣🤣🤣 I’m 100% sure..😂
Having dug up another’s cathole while doing a section of the Long Trail with my shoe, I should know.😂
Thanks for the mention, Gramps, AT21. Happy to serve you and the rest of the group that came through that day.
You'll be a stronger father when you get home from trail. Happy parents make happy children.
28 Miles!!! Great sunrise !!!
That was probably hiker scat 😂
That comparison of the cave to the scene in The Neverending Story is brilliant. PS: It would be epic if Falkor offers trail magic.
Enjoying the videos and your awesome attitude.
Glad you did not camp where the bear turd was. Actually not camping where any turd is equals good idea! :D
Yes don't chit where you sleep and don't sleep where bears chit...are always good words to live by.
Hike your own hike...Dont let others psych you out...
You’re face is getting thinner, Jason. Glad you are back with Big Foot.
Love and prayers for you, your family and your hike dear Frozen from this Grandmother in Oregon!
A wise decision to move your camp, I an sure you were very tired after a 26 + mile day, but keeping your word to your wife and remaining safe was a wise way to go. Stay safe and hike on.
I came here to lyk that i will be binging your 1-30 days until im current so i can stay up to date!
Enjoying the adventure. Safe travels!
You are doing great! Nice you met up with Big Foot again. Good move leaving the bear area!! Stay strong Frozen!!
Glad to see you’re doing well, healthy and crushing it. You make my week with these videos.
Playing your strategy very well. Prevent injuries and get full enjoyment out of your adventure. Beautiful topography every day. Nothing beats those magnificent Hugh pine cones that PCT has to offer
I just love your channel. And I love that your family supports you 100%. We didn't see her, but kudos to your wife behind the scenes.
Love it when you show the trail. I’ll never be able to see it. You’re kind of a surrogate for me!😊
Awesome sunrise, thanks!
500 miles! Woohoo! Great videos! Keep up the great pace!
Great job, very commendable effort. Congratulations on 5 hundo!!!
In a few years your kids will be joining you on these adventures.
Congrats on 500 miles. Thanks for sharing your adventure.
The Neverending Story! I thought the same thing when I saw the cave in your video 😂
I am looking forward to hearing your opinion on night hiking the aqueduct. It's actually one of my favorite sections, I have done it twice now and both times at night and both times regretted it the next day! It just left me exhausted and hiking in the heat very miserably the next day. I hiked till 12- 1am (just wanted to be in bed) and then sucked in the morning having to get up and hiking throughout the day having hiked so late. My next hike I will just hike as normal and be able to enjoy the scenery. Also thanks for the videos, I feel like I am hiking right along with you.
Nice report of the day. Keep up!
You can totally do this!!!
You are awesome!
I agree with the never ending story comment. That movie was freaky as a child. Stay safe out there man! Watching from northern ohio.
Definitely nice to see that little water source, hiker town looks like a cool little town, definitely smart thing to move away from the bear scat! Glad you’re doing good!
500!! awesome!! /i love seeing you using the gas i got you haha/ BigFoot!! awesome. i imagine you are in the Sierra by now, you must be loving it. just remember to take your pack waist belt off at the water crossings, i know some people think they are better off not but they are wrong. beautiful trail views thanks for sharing
This is so much fun following along!
Great video. Makes me miss the trail. I sent you a email about the backpack situation. Best of luck on trail!
Thank you!
Don't know how far behind you're with the videos, but watched a video of someone do Forrester pass that was posted today. I believe the video was from May 17th. They also filmed some river crossings that didn't look too scary. Of course, water levels a week ago doesn't say much about water levels when you're there but the Sierras certainly looked very doable for mid May.
Happy birthday man!
Better off to 5 day Carr hike to resupply
so enjoy your videos man. been watching you on and off for many years. i’ve considered doing the AT or PCT in the future but i do worry about leaving my little 3 year old man. although he’ll be a couple years older or so if i do this. but just not sure how id be away from him for so long. he’s my best friend. how do you do it?? i’m also 51 but a fit 51 year old dude :) sometimes my age intimidates me as well as to doing one of these trails. as you can see, i got me some fears! 😂 keep up the badass videos!
Yeah brother you shouldn’t worry about a black bear
40l should totally be doable with 9 days of food. Bear can on top, filled with tent, quilt, puffy, clothes. Food inside the pack and in a side pocket. Then change food into bear can for the night. It won't fit the first 2-3 nights. Remember you'll carry much less water in the desert, I did 2 liters mostly in one side pocket.
Great to see bigfoot again.
Hey, I know this isn't your first rodeo. I haven't seen you hanging a bear bag or stashing your food away from your tent. Still, that doesn't mean you're not doing that. So, what are you doing with your food bag? BTW - Great job on your editing.
Not sure that was bear scat
Definitely NOT bear poop. Definitely human poop. At least they were nice enough to pack out their toilet paper.
I was going to ask about how your pack is working out.....?????
When you are hitting a dry spell with only a half liter left, what is your typical hydration method and how long you usually spending? Like do you drink a liter or so first then load up the rest?
Now I have watched this video I would keep going and stop if you need to going North
Awesome series! Im getting ready for a 2025 pct hike, this has been getting me in the mood during the work shifts!! Question for ya, are you using a smart watch to track mileage, and if so which one?
No I was not, but my Google Fit app on my phone tracks steps. Not very accurate without GPS on in the app though.
Followed you through the AT. You educated and informed me for my GAME 2021. Thanks! I have a friend desiring to do the PCT. I recommended your channel to him. We talk regularly about your hike. Now I’m getting tempted. Darn you!
have you been useing a ursa bag or hard container? i really dont want to use a container a bear can just take it
I have the topo mnt 2 so how are you liking the 3s
Big foot!!!! When did you meet back up with him? At Hikertown?
Yes
I must have missed something, what happened to the Topo Terraventures? Curious what caused the shift to Ultraventures (and now Mountain Racers).
Terraventures were switched to a new cushion footbed called zip foam. It absolutely sucks. I went up in cushion to ultraventures but also wanted to try the mountain racers. I like both. Currently trying to decide which I like better.
So what shoe is better ultraventure 3 or mnt racer 3
I really like both and a. Trying to decide that for myself. Stay tuned.
@FrozensAdventures I loved your Appalachian trail adventure, iv watched each episode like 10 times...Was my dream but in October I had to have my leg amputated...The dream is over but Frozen watching your videos I get to hike the trails with you... Thank you for these videos for it gives people like me who can't hike it a place to go thru this adventure... You're a good dude...I hope you do the triple crown...Thank you 💯
