As a fan of Queen from waaaaay back in the '70s when they first hit the airwaves and having seen them live twice, in 1980 & 1982, seeing them do this song live is an amazing experience. There are many, many other songs that they have that would be great for you to react to. The March of the Black Queen, which was Bohemian Rhapsody 3 years before this came out on side black from Queen II, Now I'm Here, Save Me, '39, You're My Best Friend, Crazy Little Thing Called Love (the live version from Live in Montreal), and so many others. :)

Bohemian Rhapsody is the very first music video. There are of course live performances from artists before this came out, but this performance was recorded to be shown on T.V. when Queen could not perform on the night.
    Hammer To Fall.
    I Want It All.
    Who Wants To Live Forever.
    Radio Ga Ga.
These are a few of my favourite Queen songs, you may like them.

  • @samloveslfc

If you like the harmonies, then check out the studio versions of Somebody To Love and You Take My Breath Away. I also recommend you check out the live versions as well. Somebody To Love live at Montreal 1981 (one of their best ever live performances) and You Take My Breath Away live at Hyde Park 1976 (just Freddie and his piano, no harmonies, very ethereal). You already know some Queen songs, We Will Rock You and We Are The Champions I guarantee you've heard before. A few more you might know are I Want It All, Don't Stop Me Now, Another One Bites The Dust and You're My Best Friend. If you want something a bit different and slightly quirky, try Seaside Rendezvous, Good Old Fashioned Loverboy or Millionaire Waltz. I would suggest soooooo many more, but I will simply end by saying you can't go wrong with their infamous 20 minute set for the Live Aid charity concert in 1985. They were only one of many top acts that day, but they stole the show with their amazing performance and Freddie's mastery over the crowd.

Two original members, Dr. Brian May, guitarist and Astrophysicist and Roger Taylor, drummer plus touring Bassist. They have American Idol's Adam Lambert singing the songs. Main title name is Queen+Adam Lambert due to copyright infringement even though 2 originals are in the band. Retired Bassist, John Deacon & Family of Freddie Mercury has a say in band's activities. Beginning of band, all members have an equal say in band's activities.

There's so much more but it's a good way to start. Freddie really was one of a kind, so unique with such an amazing stage precense(which is why you should check them out live) and there will never be anyone like him. We all miss him. ❤

Radio off. TV off. Just listen to music. Find your style. Listening Oldies like Bohemian Rhapsody makes you feel that the “Trend” music of today is garbage. You have to listen to ALL KIND OF MUSIC to know what really music means. I listen Metal, Rock, Classic, ... But no Pop. Why? Because I’ve listen to Pop music and has no work. Sample, someone singing (good or not) and that’s all. There is no work behind. That is the reason why I listen mostly Metal.
I edit this message to say: not all Pop has no work. MICHAEL JACKSON. A lot of work behind.
    You can start with:
    Beat it
    Thriller
    Billy Jean
    Keep going!

Believe it or not, millions of people are STILL listening to this band and song (in particular). Especially since that movie came out and all the casuals jumped on the bandwagon, Queen are more popular than ever. Some of us were there since before Freddie died. Anyway...
If you want to hear Queen's best work, it's the albums up to THE GAME from 1980. Their 1980's albums were not so good but whatever, you could check them out. Song suggestions: Brighton Rock, Sheer Heart Attack (Live Killers version), Keep Yourself Alive (Live Killers), We Will Rock You (Fast version), Son and Daughter, Modern Times Rock and Roll, Liar, Now I'm Here, Dead on Time, More of that Jazz, Let Me Entertain You (Live Killers), The Prophet's Song, White Man, Tie Your Mother Down, Ogre Battle, Stone Cold Crazy...obviously, I could go on :D

You need to react to Somebody to Love live in Montreal 1981. Queen is one of the best selling groups ever. Sold over 300,000 albums.
Freddie Mercury is still ranked as the number one rock singer ever and the group holds the title as having the best live rock performance in history after their 1985 Live Aid performance. They were voted the best live group in several occasions.
If you have 17 minutes you really should react to their history making performance at Live Aid. There were all the bands of the day putting on a 17 minute show to raise money for the starving people in Ethiopia. It was 16 hours long broadcast around the world with an estimated 1.6 billion people watching. It was held in London at Wembley stadium and in Philadelphia Pa. one group would do their 17 minute gig in London then one would do one in the US so on and so on. Queen stole the show. Freddie’s Dr told him not to do it because of throat problems but you would never know. His voice was incredible. It wasn’t even a Queen audience, but Freddie had them eating out of his hand immediately!

Greetings, ladies, hope you are both well. A very little known fact...
The entire introduction of Bohemian Rhapsody up until the very popular and known piano part for the verse was quite literally "ALL" Freddy Mercury... Piano, main vocals, and ALL vocal harmonies. 😊

Please try to look into the lyrics. Not only it’s a MASTERPIECE of music, but lyrics have so much depth.
    May I recommend:
The Show Must Go On (one of the last song ever recorded by Freddie Mercury, the lead vocalist)
    Don’t Stop Me Now

All you U tube reactors play the same groups over and over. Frankly its getting boring!! Time to step up ur game and start jammin to netal groups others aren’t playing. Like testament, overkill, Ozzy Osbourne, Y&T, Death Angel, Exodus, Iced Earth, Black label Society, Accept etc etc.

This was also the first official music video. Bob Dylan tried this medium in the 60's with a song, but the point everyone get's interested in making videos was when Queen did this. By the way, they had a lot of discussion with the label because the label thought that this would be to long for a single and no one would play it on the radio. Obviously they did not know what they were talking about ;-) Try some other Queen-stuff, because Bohemian Rhapsody is not the best way to get started with Queen. Try "hammer to fall", "Under pressure" (a Duet with David Bowie by the way), "Death on two legs"....... and off course their performance at "Live Aid". Awesome stuff! .... and by the way, I asked a few times now to do some "TOOL". It's more Prog Rock than Metal, but I guess you will like it, if you find the way into this deep rabit-hole. "Schism" would be a good starting point for TOOL. Go with lyric videos for them, because the official videos will distract you from the music and the meaning... Nice reaction!

Queen had so many good songs, 2 you may know as they are played all the time at sports events are We Are The Champions and We Will Rock You (which was the name of the Queen Musical). Another One Bites The Dust is also played a lot, Under Pressure which a rapper 'stole' the baseline for Ice Ice Baby. Flash was the theme tune for Flash Gordon, Who Wants To Live For Ever and Princes of the Universe were made for the film Highlander as was It's A Kind of Magic. Only The Good Die Young is sung by Brian May and Roger Taylor as a tribute to Freddie after he died and is one of the last song John Deacon took part in. Some of their early stuff was a lot heavier and their style changed through their history. If you want to feast on how Queen was live I suggest you react to their Live Aid '85 set, although it lasts over 20 minutes it is a highlight of how they could command a crowd. They were playing to a non-Queen crowd (it was a charity concert to rise money for the famine in Africa with a lot of the top bands at the time) but still stole the show. If you do react to that, don't switch off when they walk off the stage, Freddie and Brian came back on stage to sing Is This The World We Created, a lot who react to it miss that song. Has I say I could go on and on but I think you have enough there to get you started :P

Jeff hannemann from slayer died at 45, cliff burton from metallicas was killed in a bus accident in his twenties. Freddy mercury from green died of aids. The entire band of lynrd skynrd except the drummer died in a plane crash in the 70's. dimebag Darrell the guitarist for pantera was murdered on stage by a deranged man with a gun in 2004. And his brother just died of heart failure a few years ago. Kurt contain from nirvana, Chris Cornell from soundgarden, the singer from link in park all committed suicide. Stone temple pilots and velvet revolver singer died from a heroin overdose. Jim Morrison from the doors died from a heroin overdose in the 70's. Peter Steele from type o negative died from heart failure. Just because a singer dies docent mean you should play crappy night wish. All those bands I named range from classic rock, to metal to alternative. They where all good. Night wish is horrible. It's not rock it's crap.

Awesome! Maybe you heard a bit of this from the movies Suicide Squad or Wayne's world. The best part of Queen is they don't have just one genre, they don't mean one thing: they are timeless, cross genres and even now their music is a breath of air because of their pure genius talent. In case your wondering, the band rarely if ever told people what their songs were about, they rather let the individuals interpret it for themselves. A popular interpretation of the "mama just killed a man" part is the lead singer, Freddie Mercury as coming out as gay and that his old straight self is dead, thats just one of them. Poetry and music don't always have to make sense, just enjoy it for its own sake. I highly recommend the prophet's song, lily of the valley, 39, white man, save me, and Teo Toriatte. while their studio songs are epic, Queen is beyond amazing live, so I highly recommend liar, stone cold crazy, flick of the wrist, and seven seas of rye live at the rainbow, white Queen live at the odeon and Keep yourself alive live at Houston, just to suggest a few. Your both in for a wild ride!

They did this video because they knew they could not recreate the song for Top of the Pops-a British pop music show that required the artists to lip-sync. Everyone hated doing it, but you HAD to appear to sell your songs. It was actually the start of music videos. It was created in a few hours with little funding. Open the Queen catalog but fair warning-it’s huge!

Freddies beautifully complex 'coming out' song. If you listen to it thinking about him struggling to admit being gay it transforms itself on so many levels.

I just don't know how anyone in this world hasn't come by this song in one way or another at this point.. lol You're right music today isn't as inspired because there isn't as much widespread hardships for people to deal with or be inspired by.. Yes there are still hardships but modern comforts and technology helps to distract from the world at large.. Plus you know drugs... I'm telling you Pink Floyd for the classic rock win!

It's nice to see you reacting to something besides Metallica and other such bands (Not that there's anything wrong with it, I love Metallica myself). Have you girls ever listened to Rush? If not, let me just say excellent musicianship and compositions with unbelievably thoughtful lyrics. They're basically my favorite band right now. May I suggest you react to one of their songs? Their most common known and loved song is probably Tom Sawer, though they have plenty of other wonderful pieces, but that one should be a good place to start.
