Great video. Refreshing to see a real mechanic during his day doing things that most people don't have the equipment to do and providing full disclosure/disclaimers about safety. Keep doing your thing brother.

Thank you for the Special Guest Appearance of Ms. Trinity, Eric! Her face-making and cleverness take me right back to childhood, and it's a great trip!

Got hit with a coil spring, helping a friend out at home using the cheap DIY style. Lucky I had the setup facing away from me and it hit the back of the work bench, bounced back and hit me square in the face. They can do permanent damage or worse death. Best as you say, take it to a shop, or if available buy the complete assembly as they are reasonable, especially if the shops labor charge is high. And coil springs can sag just as strut seals leak. Nice job.

Eric spends so much time putting together a informative video, then Trinity comes in and completely steals the show.

This channel is costing me money. I may pick up one of those impacts to go with my new air ratchet.

Reminds me of one of my earliest experiences in a shop environment at a technical school. We were doing the steering and suspension unit at the time and we were told to pull the front struts off a Chevy Cavalier. While the other two members of my group took the nuts off the top, I held the strut. I was surprised by the sudden movement of the strut when they took that center nut out by mistake, but none of us realized just happened until after my instructor mounted the strut in the compressor and realized it was already apart. I thought that I was a poor catcher or something.

I like your videos primarily because of the tremendous amount of correct information you share, the correct methodology/ and the warnings/gotchas. It is one thing to film your work and it is another to deliver instruction as you do- it is a tough job, and I admire and respect you for that. As another person pointed out, your quality of work demands a higher hourly rate. Stealerships charge 125 per hr! Here's to many more years of instructional videos.

65 an hour Eric?? WOW ..awesome ..around here 110 for dealers and usually 90 for independent .. I have a friend that does side work and charges 50 ..so you I am sure are undervaluing your amazing skill set :)

My wife told me I am making up car issues to fix since I started watching you videos. There are pre built struts for many cars. They ride much better than a leaking strut, half the price of a factory.

Napa has a great deal on the Gearwrench pass through 3/8 ratchet set. It may help on the struts without hunting down a special tool. Great video as usual.
