Hey there :) In relation to weaning and being ready, every baby's different. If you want to do baby-led weaning, Halley needs to be at the stage where she can sit upright pretty independently, so that her airway is straight and clear when food is in her mouth. I have some baby-led weaning videos on my channel that go through signs of readiness etc. Gill Rapley's book Baby Led Weaning is brilliant for explaining all this in more detail. The £15 Ikea high chair is brilliant for baby led weaning as it's easy to dismantle and throw in dishwasher or hose down in the shower. It also has a wipeable cushion that goes inside that can help with baby's posture and sitting upright.
My little girl is 7 months & only just started rolling & sitting unsupported. We were using a bumbo seat for weaning & having a similar issue with her getting tired/uncomfortable and arching. I think it was lack of support to the upper body because there’s nothing to lean on for her shoulders & head. When we switched to a standard high chair with padding she could sit comfortably for much longer & has started eating much better! Good luck 🤩
Omg Shan I did it! I purchased the mattress! You swayed me! I had an Ikea one on order and I cancelled it this morning and ordered the Emma instead! I have 2 year old twins and a 4 year old and we don’t fit in our double anymore and haven’t for a long time so now is the time for a superking too! Can’t wait to try the mattress!
I have nearly 4m old twins and they are developing differently developmentally. Think it's them being individual and going at their own pace. Halle will get there! Love your vlogs x
My baby girl turns 9 months tomorrow she didn't start sitting up on her own till 7 and half months apparently it can be down to sitting in bouncers which sorta makes sense why mine took a while but when I tell you in a blink of an eye she just did it and she now sits up on her own like a pro she crawls everywhere and even trying to stand it is crazy. Honestly it's shocked me I didn't expect any of it all in one go. I wouldn't worry about it every baby is different she will get there😊❤️
Every baby is a bit different. My now 16month old did everything "late". Rolled over late, sat up late, crawl late. One day at like 9 or 10months he started to really move and then by the time he turned 1 he was walking!!! I could have never imagine he would be an early walker
Agreed! My first only crawled at 8-8.5 months, which is not particularly early but by 10 months she was full on walking independently. They are all different and they all get there eventually 😉
My almost 6 months old also has the same seat and arches her back in it. We have a mamas and papas snax high chair for weaning which she doesn't throw herself around as much in so it might be worth trying a different chair
Omg it feels like yesterday you were telling us about your planned break! It’s come around so quickly! Hope you’re all well and feeling a bit more refreshed!
I've gone back to work 6months after having my son and everyone keeps asking me if it feels weird or horrible being without him ect like I'm suppose to feel guilty ... I mean I barely left the house in 6 months so it's great to be back other than the shifts I'm on haha 😅
My boy is exactly the same! Had his 2 bottom teeth and got them tops ones coming through. Keeps throwing himself back like hallie did in this video, and pulling his ears. He’s very irritated by it 😢 x
My little girl was super chilled and I felt like she was late in everything but somehow I knew she just needed her own time and she picked up everything in one go ...sitting, crawling ,walking etc Boys tend to be more faster in physical development than girls, at least that how I feel observing from my friends 😅
Don't worry about weaning. Just take a step back for a while until she is ready ❤ I'm a mum of 2 and both mine were completely different. My youngest was exclusively breastfed and slept through from 7 weeks old until 6 months old were we hit 3 months of broken sleep and night feedings. Hind sight now looking back it was because I was pushing weaning and he wasn't ready. All he needed and wanted was milk but now he is coming up to 2 years old and eats like a horse 😂 also don't worry about milestones. My little girl was pritty average with everything and my son didn't even roll until he was 8 months. He just was not interested. Keep doing tummy time and little one will get there when she is ready 😊hope you enjoyed France! 🎉 x
I’m sure you’ve tried this but when my baby was in the middle of cutting his teeth I would alternate nurofen and calpol 2 hourly, so nurofen, then 2 hours later calpol, 2 hours later nurofen, so it’s 4 hours between each medicine but she’s getting constant pain relief without one wearing off. It’s completely safe to give both, in the same way we would take both, they’re different medicines so it’s completely safe (I’m medical) Might be worth a go to help her bless her. Top teeth are so painful for them 😩
That’s fine if you only need relief during the day but needs caution if also needed at night. Ibuprofen is usually given every 6-8 hours as can only be given 3-4x in a 24 hour period. (Also a Dr)
Doses of medicine are always over a 24 hour period. Please don’t give 3 doses in 12 hours 😊. Calpol is paracetamol which is also an effect pain reliever so you can use both. Same with George, he can have both too if calpol isn’t enough. 😘😘
Amber teething bracelet (on ankle) saved me from teething, he wore it daily for a year and had not one problem with it and he cut all of his teeth with no problems. Get a proper one and not just an Amazon one as they don’t work xx
We just can’t seem to get in a routine with our second baby. Hallies bedtime is never chilled and always rushed because we have to get our first down and her naps are all over the shop it’s so hard
Ahh right there with you with the teething baby. We have the bottom two already and two of the top ones but the top middle two are now coming through. We use Ibuprofen and also Anbesol if need something extra. Always worse at night. Bless her. Hope the other 3 cut through soon and give her the relief x
My boy is a big boy. He was born 4kg. He started to crawl when he was 9months and half. And at this time he started to sit properly. It is good not to sit your baby on the position with 90° when she can not sit by herself because it will be back problems in the future. So, you have to do lots of tommy times to push her to crawl and then she will have better muscles on her back and she will start to seat. At least 2 months of crawling before fist steps. Otherwise baby has no muscles on the back and it will be very problematic to put all weight and verticalise the body on fragile spine with weak muscles
You look so lovely in every dress! Your body looks amazing!! I do understand some of these outfits are impractical with children but just know that you can wear them all and you should x The black mini skirt with blazer is stunning on you. Hope you get more chances to wear these outfits x
I JUST wanted to ask you about your bed in the last video! We are considering going to a kingsize, also with the growing family in mind. The seller told us not to get kingsize because it's so hard to change the sheets and bedding. Do you notice that too? Or would you still say the extra space makes it worth it? Thank you for all the amazing videos!
Her bed is super king. The duvet cover is a nightmare to change in my experience, it’s like doing a workout! The sheet is easy to change, but I do like the space you have.
@@lizfield6486ah, I think that’s the one we’re looking at too (it’s so confusing, they call it something different everywhere); the 2 meter x 2 meter? So you feel like the extra space is worth it over the hassle with the duvet?
@@MovieswithMary oh I haven’t heard it called that, it’s just a super king here lol. I won’t lie, I hate changing the duvet cover but yes the extra space is great. I don’t regret choosing it at all.
Love watching your vlogs.. 😊 Which teething whitening do you use if any? Also I need to ask being a mum to a 4 year old and 1 year old and also a dog 😅 how do you keep up with housework and dog hair!! Xxx
Watching your video with the biggest smile! So glad you fitted into your pre baby clothes 🥰 I wasn’t so lucky after my two 😂 also my baby has just turned 10 months and was very similar to Hallie with being really slow with the weaning situation! He just wants to chuck finger foods away so is more of a purée baby which is fine but my first son took to eating so well ! im just hoping he decides to like food before he turns 1 😂
Both my boy and girl were about 9 mo before they could sit unassisted (my boy crawled before he could sit up with i found bizzare 😅) but yeah theyre all different, shes a chilled out babe ❤ Also with weaning my boy was not interested really til about 8 or 9 months so would spit most back out but he eventually got on board 😊
i am not a doctor at all lmao but i know they say being able to sit up unassisted is recommended for weaning, also babies that maybe need to do a bit more tummy time (obvs idk how much Halle does) tend to do that arching back thing when in a sitting position as their core muscles aren’t used to being engaged or something (maybe research because i’m just going from my own research when my little boy did the arching thing in his high chair too because he couldn’t sit unassisted at 6 months either!) i wouldn’t worry about the sitting my son still wobbles over now at 8.5 months but he’s just started crawling so they all do things so differently, im not sure about rolling because my little boy rolled both ways at 4 months but i know that’s quite early i think they say usually by 6 months but its all such a guide so honestly no idea! i think crawling is like between 6-11 months they say so its very vague🤣 can’t hurt to get her checked if you are worried or talk to the health visitor maybe i know where i am theres a number we can text xx
equally tho my little boy really was not interested in food when he was teething (he also cut all 4 top ones in one go they all cut within 2 days of each other🫠) and he was not interested in the slightest, i found giving him his milk from the fridge instead of warm he quite liked but then hes always had it different temps so not phased i know some babies wont take cold milk so yeah idk but the teething could definitely be impacting weaning so i wouldn’t worry too much you’re doing amazing xx
I think everyone is just different.. My son could sit up unassisted at 7 months, some do it earlier and some later.. There's a wide range for everything to happen.. It seems like this can still happen up to 9 months.. Maybe have her sit in between your legs on the floor, and then just with less and less support over time.
I’m so torn at the moment of wanting a date night with my husband and getting done up in a nice dress and also not wanting to leave my boy 😢 I know he hates being left (we’ve only down it twice in nearly 2 years)
Ive really enjoyed this video. My daughter is 6 month old and next month is valentines month and me and my partner are going out. Omg the ‘waits for me’ comment about the dishes and the housework !!
Felt that !! 5:04
Yes 😂 I get so fed up of people saying it when it’s only me who will eventually need to do it, and then it’ll be a mammoth task which is worse 😅

Hiya for
Teething have you tried absesol liquid! It’s amazing X
Mum of 3 here. Anbesol is hands down the best to give them instant relief! That stuff is strong 😅 xx
Was just coming to say same thing - I’ve used adult version myself. Is THE best! Properly numbs it

I can suggest you for theething pains to give her a gingival cream for babies or at least nurofen drops.
