and just for you to know, this song is sang in 4 languages: Korean, Chinese, Japanese and English, for real is a masterpiece
in a sense, they grew up together. in kpop, they join companies where they become trainees, developing their singing, rapping, dancing and more. if the company decides theyre fit for the roup, they make it to the debut line up, fianlly debuting. Their company, sm entertainment, is famous for housing many talented idol groups lke red velvet, exo, shinee, girls generation and more. It's extremely difficult for someone to even pass the audition or join sm, because they set pretty high standards. To become nct, they went through many struggles of training and eliminination. they have to compete against over hundreds of trainees. many nct members trained together. johnny, who is part of nct 127, trained for nearly 10 years to debut.
plus, since theyre in a group together, theyre practically with each other 24/7. they stay together, eat together and go on tours together.
And, most of the time, they live together in a dorm. 😉

They did basically grow up together (especially NCT DREAM as they debuted as teens International age 14-17 - Jisung, the maknae or youngst member joined the company at 11 KR age while other Dreamies joined at like 13 KR age I believe and some at 14/15, so yeah) while other members joined the company in their later teens so yeah, they grew up together.
13 of the 23 members are also NOT Korean, so they left their home countries for Korea to train and learn in a different country where they didn't know the language and had to learn it in Korea while they train at such a young age. This song is even more touching bc of that reason.

They have celebrated birthdays together sometimes even being too caught up in their training they may actually forget it's their birthday. So far nct is my number one no matter what kpop group and I really appreciate all the good content they put out for us cause they've worked hard to get their just like every single famous kpop group you will get to know in the future, people need to be more educated on what they sacrifice just to give us this. Yes, this concept is to pay homage to the golden era called the 90’s and bringing Jodeci, Babyface, KciJojo, BoyzIIMen, Luther, Peabo, and all other legends to 2021 and sprinkle it with NCT flavor.
The song tells about these men coming from all parts of the world at such a young age, leaving their family and normal childhood behind, and flying to a foreign country to pursue the passion and the calling in their heart to sing, to perform, to write, to compose...to touch millions of hearts through their voices, their dance, their music. Just for 12, 15, 18 year old teenagers (they debut 4 years ago but has been in training just about a decade) with no life experience and to bravely do the above and entering the most brutally cut throat industry is a huge inspiration to the young and young-at-hearts.
This song also talks about drawing strength from their home: family, brothers and sisters, and their fellow NCT members who they spent even more time together the past decade and thus have become their second home and second family...while they share their common dream to reach for the stars. That is why this song has become sentimental not just for old fans who have followed their journey from day one, but also new fans who may have only just got to know them, because we all have those hardships and sacrifices in our lives that we could relate to.

Half of the members are non korean(Chinese/Japanese/Thai/American/Canadian). They came to Korea to follow their dream to become kpop idols under an agency called SM entertainment. Some of them have been living in Korea for few years now and they have been put under training before their debut. They are not childhood friends but they do, in a way, grow up together because they have been living together with their respective korean members in the dormitory provided by the agency since training days. So, these kids are like family now.
The rearranged version music video, is even more emotional. (I recommend you guys to watch that one too) And yes most of them basically grew up together, so From Home is really a special song for both, for themselves and for fans. Also considering the fact that most of the members are foreigners, they left their original home to pursue their dreams in Korea at such a really young age, so they found a new home together. This song + the rearranged version is full of feels.
Also me: Why is nobody mentioning the "Can't Live Without You" video?
They literally used one of their debut songs (Without You (they basically debuted with 2 songs, The 7th Sense, which you already reacted to, and Without You) that song hits different with the video they released recently.

NCT has members who came from a global auditions. Do apart from korean, they have members coming from Chicago, Canada, Japan, Thailand, China, Germany, Macao. There are a lot of them who can also speak english fluently regardless on where they grew up.
There are no siblings in the group, but a lot of the members know eachother for a LOOONG time. In kpop there is a period of time before debut where you are a "Trainee" and are taught sining, dancing etc. That time period can be anything from months to years.
Quite a few of the members were trainees from their early teens.
They did grow up together. They even went to each other school graduation. Some of them are also classmate. One of the cutest moment is when they went to Jisung's elementary school graduation. Jisung is the youngest and he's an adult now. Time flies. Let me cry.... Thanks for reacting ☺

When they said thank you in 8 languages, you asked if they could speak all of those languages. Yes, they can :) They said thank you in Mandarin, Korean, English, German, Thai, Spanish and Japanese. Also watch Taemin Danger he is soloist from SHINee. EXO one of the most versatile groups there is, they can sing any genere of music.They are all from the same company.

to answer your question: yes they technically grew up together. most of them are from different countries and have different nationalities since SM Entertainment (their company) holds global Auditions, that's why Mark was scouted from Canada, Johnny from Chicago, Ten from Thailand and so on. Once accepted by the company, they go to Korea and undergo training together for 3 to 4 years for most members, depending on the year they get in the company. and most of them train at a young age before getting to debut as a team, It's different for everyone as Mark was just 13 when he started training then debuted with the song 7th Sense at 17 years old while Chenle got into the company (he was scouted) at 14 yrs old and only trained for 6 months before debuting but ultimately they all came together as NCT.

I will try to walk you through NCT very quickly. Now NCT stands for Neo Culture Technology and they are under one of the top music industries in Korea called SM Entertainment. This company is famous for debuting idols with pure talents (the idols in this company come with full package lol they've got the visuals, they can dance, they can sing, etc..).

Yes, there are 23 members in total for now. The concept is that they're a group of infinite members who are constantly shifting into different sub-units.
Those sub-units are the following:
- *NCT127* (Are the representatives of Seoul and 127 in their name represents the longitudinal coordinate of Seoul)
- *NCT U* (Is a rotational group and members change depending on the concept)
- *NCT Dream* (It's a unit based on age? When they first debuted, all members of this sub-unit were under 20 years old and once they hit that age they had a graduation system so they move to another unit but later on SM dropped the graduation system so now it's like a unit that consists of youths)
- *WAYV* (The Chinese unit, this group is focused on releasing songs in Mandarin)
None of them are brothers in real life to answer your question but, they are a big family as they grew up together since they were teens and have a very strong bond. NCT have amazing rappers, vocalists and dancers and they love to experiment with their music a LOT. They're always trying different styles, concepts, tunes and melodies in their songs so they're very unique. Each and every member comes with different style and individual talents as well (drawing, DJing, vloging, cooking...). Most importantly, these boys are crackheads in real life and you'd have a great laugh if you watch their reality shows and daily posts...

they basically grow up together, maybe to the point of having stronger bond than their actual siblings since they been living together 24/7 for years now.. half of NCT members come from other countries, they fly thousand miles away from their home to Korea all alone (some of them are only 14-15 years old) to chase their dreams, working so hard day & night for years to get where they are now, so now they have this mutual feelings that NCT is their home where they all share the same dreams and goals.. they have nowhere to rant when everything gets hard except to their members (that would make them to have even more stronger bonds)

they became trainees when they were teenagers. Jisung, the youngest in NCT, entered the company and became a trainees when he was in 5th grade and debuted at the age of 14. they spent their teenage years together until now. johnny spent 9 years being a trainee
There are no siblings in the group but they all act as if they were. To answer you: yes most of them grew up together since they were around 11-12. Jisung and Chenle met before they even started to train at a show in China when Chenle was about 9 and Jisung 8, they were really good friends even though they couldn't understand each other (language barrier) but then they didn't see each other anymore until they got into the company like 2 years later. Fun fact: the Dream members have been training since really young and they all attended Jisung's (the youngest) Elementary School Graduation together. Also the members have said it was really comforting to have people in the group who they could speak their native language with as they were not fluent in Korean at first, the only ones that didn't get this opportunity were Yuta (from Japan) and Ten (from Thailand) as there were no more members from their countries, as of late 2020 Shotaro has joined the group and now Yuta has someone to speak Japanese with!! I'm so happy for him. And Ten's Mandarin has improved greatly!
It's even more sentimental when you think of it from the foreign members' perspective. They left their country including their family when they were basically just kids and teenagers. They couldn't go home often because of training and then tight schedule from debut. And then because of the pandemic, they couldn't go home at all. This song is about finding a home away from home. They found a home with their members who they grew up with.

The 23 members of NCT are from different places: Korea, China, Taiwan, Macao, Hong Kong, Japan, Thailand, USA and Canada - also, some of them grew up in different place, the member born in Taiwan grew up in Germany, there is a Korean member that studied in the USA. So the "thank you" in different languages is in the language that the members speak. The one who grew up in Germany and was born in Taiwan (Yangyang) can also speak Spanish besides Mandarin and Korean. There is another member (Ten) who was born in Thailand but was educated in a British school in Thailand, so he can speak English and Thai besides speaking Korean, Mandarin and a lit bit of Japanese. You should react to From Home Arranged Version MV. It contains emotional clips from pre-debut / trainee era. That’s the whole background story. Yes they literally grew up together. 13/23 of them are foreigners. They came to Korea to reach their dream, without knowing their language, felt lonely, but they finally found home in each other. That’s why the lyrics hold so much meaning. And they sang this song in their own natives (you can hear Japanese, Mandarin, Korean).
The definitely grew up together. Some of them have been here from their childhood like literally when they were 12 and they've been together for at least 7 years.
