I just subbed to your channel recently, so I'm catching up with your catalog. In that short time I've already decided on two knives because of your reviews. The Czco Carbon Blade Bowie and the Buck 119. I like how in this video you took us through all the important steps for your personal customization. Your sense of humor, and likeable manner make these videos never boring, entertaining and informative. Thanks for helping me with my decision-making. Also, thank you for your military service. Glad you made it home too, brother. De Oppresso Liber (Former 10thSFGA 18B/18D). Godspeed.
You should do a more videos like this .it will help and be cool to learn a few tips .I'm been making knives and working on Knife for 8 months now and I'm still learning
"...take a $20 knife - and make it look like a $25 dollar knife." LOL! Naw - it came out great! I learned a lot from this video - I might try my hand at customizing a SZCO Bowie!
I got the ER 438 SO knife, It's got close to a 1/4 inch thick blade and full tang. I can't find their w49 Bowie .Hope I I didn't confuse you. Always look forward to you post. Just did the hotdog, was great. Go Patriots.
Good job! Like to see it with summa those faux-ivory scales! I like watching your vids testing or customising various knives... Hope you continue to do so even tho KH and dbad are taking up a lot of your time... There are other "knife testing and presentation" channels but there are none like you, blade-bro.
Funny, I was thinking about a partial bluing on the blade for a patina look like I did on the other Szco Bowie but decided to sand it at the last second.
It needs slimmed down. Flat grind, round guard, and thinner more contoured handle. That will bring the weight down and make it look more organic think I may do this
The handle construction and reconfiguration of the hand guard was definitely a must. As far as the grind, I can't find to much wrong with this actual knife blade. It's a great workhorse.
I like your knives. Your like me in that if it cuts im interested and I don't much want a knife I CANT take out and use. Our collection is verry similar except I ain't got around to getting a szco bowie yet. Thanks for testing it a while. Back
Looking good Donnie, I might have to do one of mine differently. Have you done any reviews on the Elk Ridge 14 in Bowie ? I picked one up at Big 5 for just under $15.00 dollars. It was on sale, used a coupon and Veteran discount. Really like it, but will see if it stands up to your torture tests. Also thank you for your service in the sandbox. Don Terra, aka Donnie B All Night.
I bought but haven't reviewed yet, the Elk Ridge Bushcraft knife. I've but not bought the Elk ridge W-49 style Bowie. It's got a better fit and finish than the Szco, but a plain 440 steel. At 4mm thick, it could be thicker for the length. But it's still a knife and will act like it. I like thank guard but not as much as "Donnie B All Night". Haha!
Donnie, you were making me nervous when you weren't wearing safety glasses with that die grinder in your hand. :) Glad you remembered to put them on. I stopped by Atlanta Cutlery a couple days ago and bought one of these knives. $27.00 w/tax. They call it a "Throwing Bowie Knife" on their website. I'm already planning to tinker with it, mainly reshape the original scales and install some of those male/female screws that are used on the Cold Steel Wild West Bowie in place of the original pins to make it looks more like an original Western W49. But yeah, I will agree, you can't go wrong with one of these Szco Bowies.

Thanks my brother. Much appreciated and you chose two sweet blades! Hooah!
Great modifications! And great knife for the customizing.
I just ordered one.
Its a fun blade to have
Them push daggers . Hahaha
Thats the kind off stuff I do . Thats why I am always bleeding and have many scars . Looks good .
Bleeding makes better videos. Haha

I've done a bunch of custom knife vids. They're in there

Don't be an ass. It looks like at least $25.50
Donnie B All Day that’s being generous. I’d guess $25.25

Oh ok. I thought you meant the W49 style. Decent blade around the cost of yours. Glad you made the dog. I loved it. And hell yeah with the Pats!
That came out really nice. Nice custom work
thanks bro
Just got me one thanks for the reviews ur one of the best out there
I appreciate that

I've got more to test and more coming
I really like the new handle. My amateur mod consists of a new sheath (first I ever made), and a petina on the blade.
Funny, I was thinking about a partial bluing on the blade for a patina look like I did on the other Szco Bowie but decided to sand it at the last second.
Just got mine today. $30 from Amazon. I like it a lot.
They go for 15.99 on some sites, but shipping probably makes it about the same. Leaving it stock or customizing?
@@DonnieBAllDay I think I'll leave it stock. I dig the look.
@@lobolobo1263 its rough around the edges, but its a hell of a workhorse

Отличная работа👍,но я бы еще поработал бы с клинком ,поднял выше спуски и зделал ему долы на обоих сторонах клинка😊
The blade has performed great, so I figured I'd leave it
@@DonnieBAllDayконечно,это выбор мастера😊
I like it! All D exclusive custom handles!
Somebodies gotta do it, why not me? Haha!

Thanks bro. I love the turn out.
Looks great.

Hello
Get greetings from Mexico city
Congratulations on the results with that Bowie knive
Super-improved
So easy to do and it makes a great difference my brother
looking big brother 💪

Do you sharpen the back of the clip point? I heard they were traditionally edged.
No. Leaving it swedged is fine. The false edge still helps with penetration while still able to baton on or push split.
Well done !! ( I need to buy me some new tools ).....
Me too! Haha!
What's your height and weight? You're a beast man!

I was just filming a video today where I was grinding again without safety glasses. You don't have to be smart to be good. Hahaha
Couldn't help but wonder how many bodies hidden in those bins in the basement?!? Seriously though, like the knife
