5:12 I was hoping this was going to be my letter. I'm the person who submitted the previous letter about Hiram's guitar that's mentioned here. Weirdly, I was in the audience when the letter was read as I lived in New Jersey, which is close enough. One of my regrets is not having spoken up to tell Dave that it was me who wrote that letter.
I appreciate your work digitalizing and uploading these videos. These Letterman videos comfort me, give me happiness, and I'm sure that for many others as well. Thanks. Happy holidays.
thank you don. in all seriousness..that headcounselor had exact same attitude my beloved grandparents had towards folks in entertainment industry. my dear grandma ..who was completely sweet and level-headed in all other ways regarded show folk as vermin. no...wait..she hated show folks and Democrats! that was it!
Thanks, and sure. I'm presently underwater with work projects ( hey, these clips ain't paying the rent...), so I'll get to this after the load lightens.
@@dongiller Damn, I just looked him up on wikipedia and he died of cancer at 52. It's so weird outliving people that were older than me when I was a kid watching Late Night religiously. RIP Hiram.
Thanks Don! I've been waiting almost 40 years to see this. I missed it the first time around.
Thank your son for requesting it! :)

Doing an invaluable service often comes with no pay but it deserves a ton of gratitude. Thank you!!!!

show-people (one in the entertainment business)
What ever happened to Hyrym?
If you’re referring to Hiram Bullock, he passed away in 2008.
@@dongiller also, why did he leave Late Night and when?
@@jeffrey-k5y He left in the Spring of 1984. It was a mutual decision between himself and NBC.
