Really it's a good place. Actually between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg there are tons to do. Can even take a horse ride through the mountains or drive around Cade' s Cove to look at the black bear and other wildlife.
masque22 I watched a video that the splashing water created a moisture in the air that was rusting the building and making it unsafe. They did it to preserve it.
I know I’ve haven’t been in a couple years since my daughter is 14 now and hasn’t been into it in a while. She went with her school today and she and her friend kept saying the water is gone and it’s just smoke! Considering I live in Knoxville and have been probably 40 times since I was kid and it’s been my favorite ride I was very sad.
I rode that ride once, I was not expecting it to drop, so even though it's slow by today's standards, it was quite a thrill. I'd love to go back there at some point.
I've been on this ride around 8 or 9 years ago. Cool ride and love Dollywood. Love how it is set out in the woods with all the stores you can go to and outside entertainment over food. Thanks for sharing.
Hadn't been on that ride in years. You would have loved the Flooded Mine that was built around the same time. They removed it and installed Daredevil Falls. The flooded mine was much like the Blazing Fury. Thanks for sharing this!
Thumbs up, Adam. I just saw this video today (Jan. 11, 2019) for the first time. Even though you posted the video back in 2014, it is still totally awesome!
I live a short distance from Dollywood- about an hour and a half. I remember being absolutely terrified of Blazing Fury, even just a few years ago. Such a great theme park, and such a great ride.
I have just discovered you on youtube, and it makes me happy to see you did this video! I live in the Knoxville area and it's cool to see you visited Dollywood!
I used to go to dollywood every summer, multiple times as a kid, We only live about three hours away, I rode the blazing fury one time, because my older brother dragged me on it, I screamed and cried the entire time, Don't know why it scared me so much as a kid, but man, I hated that ride.
Great vlog,,,,Best One Ever!!!!! Hey, really liked the guy at the end with the adam the woo shirt. :) Watching you create a vlog was a great experience...Well done... :)
Love the blazing fury ride at Dollywood. I've been to pigeon forge and Dollywood several times. I thought your Jurassic jungle boat ride video was hilarious! I've never been on that ride but it looks really funny and campy.
I've loved watching your videos for years, Adam, but have always wanted to hear more about the history of the places you were visiting, which I know is not always possible, especially with the daily channel. The last few I've watched, however, have given me exactly what I was longing for. Bringing along a guest who knows the area or just sharing your own general knowledge is giving your videos that extra spark that it was missing, in my humble opinion. Keep up the great work, sir, and living the dream!
I swear when I first rode this as a child (back when there was water in the end) compared to recently the ride is much smoother and you feel less air time in the drops than I remember, which is good because those drop segments scared the hell out of me back then
Holy cow! I went to the Smoky's a ton as a kid but we only went to Dollywood a couple of times when I was real little but I remember this ride! It was my favorite!
I live in Missouri and frequent Branson's SDC a lot. I only recently found out Dollywood was the original Silver Dollar City. I love the one in Branson and I love their Fire in the Hole ride.
When I rode this as a kid, I remember getting wet at the very end. It's so sad that they had to get rid of it. So many awesome childhood memories at this theme park!
I've heard that as well. It's sad really. I've been to that area before on vacation with my mother, sister, and little brother. I'm ashamed of this generation. I'm 30 years old and you would never catch me doing this. Put some people to work digging ditches or something and we'll see how long that arson thing lasts.
Awesome video. I noticed a couple of changes since my last trip. The young girl sitting on the roof getting ready to jump down to the waiting fireman replaces the figure of a larger lady. She would tell the fireman she was getting ready to jump and he would reply, "But I've got a weak back." Seems they have softened that scene a little.
I rode this ride with my kids earlier this year, and it broke down while we were on it. They ended up having us get off of the ride and had us exit out a service door. So got to see some of the stuff behind the scenes. Wish I would have thought to record it, but unfortunately I didn't. Did get to ride the full ride the next day. It was kind of a treat for me because I remember riding it when I was a kid, back when it was Silver Dollar City.
My family's nickname for this ride is the Stinky Coaster. Derives from when there was water at the end and it STUNK!!! If it got on you, YOU STUNK TOO!!! But I love dark rides and we always ride this one a couple of times when we go.
Wow! It is exactly like Silver Dollar City’s Fire in the Hole! I have been going to Silver Dollar City for 40 years, and it was my first roller coaster ride in the 1970’s at Silver Dollar City. I feel kinda let down in a tiny way, because I grew up believing that Branson had the only Silver Dollar City and Fire in the Hole. Dollywood looks and sounds like Silver Dollar City...kinda weird. Thank you for sharing this video, because it brought back fond childhood memories and memories of my Son when he was small. I am happy that there is Dollywood for Others to go to, because that type of culture is now only joyful memories of our Elders. It sure is a fun experience for me!
Hello Dalton here with live it up adventures. This is one of my favorite rides at dollywood. You got to love dark rides! I grew up ridding this as a young child visiting my grandmother several times a year. Who worked at a pickle on a stick stand. That was actually located where the bathrooms beside blazing fury are now. I will be moving to the Pigeon Forge area mid September. At that time I will start posting more and more vlogs!
Blazing Fury was the first roller coaster I had ever gone on, and it traumatized me for the longest time! It was absolutely terrifying to me when I was a kid.
The water was my favorite part of the ride!! I remember when I was younger me and my dad would ride together it would scare me to death!! Its devastating that they took the water out!! I guess the ride will be still fun but ya'll out if state will never get the fun experience that I had :(((((((
I only got to ride this one time when I was a kid but I loved it. I didn't know they would spray water at the end, caught be surprise! Loved this ride. I hate they took out the water at the end though.
For most of that, I was thinking that I definitely prefer Fire in the Hole... but Blazing Fury gets major credit for still having the collapsing bridge roof!
Silver Dollar City in Branson officially opened in 1960 but it existed a long time before that when it was just the Marvel Caverns cave tours. Like, a really long time. The first cave tour was back in 1894.
The ride at Silver Dollar City has an interesting storyline. A cast member said that these framed pictures of men in creepy ram masks is historical to Missouri. The ride is based off of a band of men known as the Bald Knobbers that used to go from town to town and loot and then burn down towns. The men can be seen throughout the ride. Creepy, yet cool.
+Aaron Windsor Except the attractions! I'm used to disneyland but when we lived in Illinois for a year & a half, my parents decided to take here, since my mother had been a while back because she had relatives nearby. I was a bit weirded out by "fire in the hole"!
Went there a few years back with friends and one of our friend's daughter was nervous about riding. A nice lady (I would call her grandmotherly) was trying to convince her it was ok. Her argument was "It's fun and you see a guy on a commode."Needless to say she wasn't convinced.
When I was a small child, my family went on a lot of vacations, that park was (I Think) my first theme park; though, I never really could remember where it was located. That ride scared the shit out of me, as a child. It was one of the many rides there that actually traumatized me of coasters for much of my childhood.
I thought I was the only one who was scared of this ride. I'm in high school now and I still refuse to ride that thing.I usually have to end up waiting for all of my friends to get off of it though...
Maddie Melich my class is going in two days and my friends are forcing me to ride it your not the only one scared of it u can't even open my eyes on that thing
Dollywood is in the great state of Tennessee which is where i live.I live an hour away from the park and it is awesome.I have rode all the rollercoasters except Tennessee Tornado.I highly recommend Dollywood.
Those people sure sound pretty happy and unconcerned about the fact that their town IS BURNING TO THE GROUND. Did the guy at the very end with the AdamtheWoo t-shirt notice you? XD
Adam, Silver Dollar City theme park in Missouri or maybe Arkansas was used as location filming in several episodes of The Beverly Hillbillies TV series.
All your Dollywood videos make me really want to check it out someday.
Do itttt :D it's fun
Really it's a good place. Actually between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg there are tons to do. Can even take a horse ride through the mountains or drive around Cade' s Cove to look at the black bear and other wildlife.
You weren't the only one who was too scared to ride at times. At 6 or 7 I was too scared to ride. Lol
Beautifull dark ride i love it nice going adam that you visit it to show us the inner stuff they have there.
Ah memories! I can't believe they took out the water at the end though, that was the best part!
masque22 I watched a video that the splashing water created a moisture in the air that was rusting the building and making it unsafe. They did it to preserve it.
I know I’ve haven’t been in a couple years since my daughter is 14 now and hasn’t been into it in a while. Agreed
Wow informative comments.
Was removed because of snakes found copperheads
Dollywood is my favorite amusement park! So much fun there!
This is my most favorite ride at Dollywood! !!!
Some guys have all the fun! Great ride along Adam Thanks
I rode that ride once, I was not expecting it to drop, so even though it's slow by today's standards, it was quite a thrill. I'd love to go back there at some point.
I remember riding this back in 1979, thanks for the memories.
When was 1979
I've been on this ride around 8 or 9 years ago. Cool ride and love Dollywood. Love how it is set out in the woods with all the stores you can go to and outside entertainment over food. Thanks for sharing.
They've now added fog machines, extra lighting, and a surprising cannon like explosion at the ending of the ride where the water used to be!
Blazing fury is still one of my favorite rides!
Thank you so much for doing this vid. Brings back lots of childhood memories.
Hadn't been on that ride in years. You would have loved the Flooded Mine that was built around the same time. They removed it and installed Daredevil Falls. The flooded mine was much like the Blazing Fury. Thanks for sharing this!
I didn't know they replaced the water. That was the best part
Thumbs up, Adam. I just saw this video today (Jan. 11, 2019) for the first time. Even though you posted the video back in 2014, it is still totally awesome!
I love those kind of rides. I will have to ride this one if I ever go to Dollywood!
I've rode this tons of times and was extremely dissapointed when I found out the water was removed! Was the best part!
I haven't been in awhile I can't believe they took the water out getting wet is half the fun
I spent so much time here as a kid, if I went back to Dollywood I'd probably cry from all the memories
This is my favorite roller coaster!! They also need to bring the water back that was the best part.
+Anna SmallTownLife its hard too water inside causes lots of mold I also loved mystery mine you can feel the real FLAMES:-)
I used to go to dollywood every summer, multiple times as a kid, We only live about three hours away, I rode the blazing fury one time, because my older brother dragged me on it, I screamed and cried the entire time, Don't know why it scared me so much as a kid, but man, I hated that ride.
Two of my favorite things dark rides & roller coasters
That was a very fine production.
I've never been on that ride but it looks really funny and campy.
this is my favorite dollywood ride. they theme it out at christmas including the fireman's legs from the load-in being converted to santa's legs.
Rode the Fury back in 82, we stopped on our way to the worlds fair and spent 2 days in pigeon forge and gatlinburg. Good times !
I've loved watching your videos for years, Adam, but have always wanted to hear more about the history of the places you were visiting, which I know is not always possible, especially with the daily channel. Old enough to remember when it was silver dollar city....
When I rode this as a kid, I remember getting wet at the very end. It's so sad that they had to get rid of it. So many awesome childhood memories at this theme park!
Glad you did the film. I love this ride. may actually be blazing fury by tomorrow.
Yeah the name was kind of ironic considering what almost happened. I was going to make a joke similar to yours but you beat me to it
poobeartigger2005 yeah that's an awesome part of the country. I go out there every few years. What a shame. I heard it was arson
I've heard that as well. It's sad really. I've been to that area before

Your videos are great man, I think I have seen every one.

Hey I live very close to Branson, and have been to Silver Dollar City many times. We call it Steal Your Dollar City here.
Thats a fact!! Theres nothing cheap about that place!!
My family's nickname for this ride is the Stinky Coaster. Derives from when there was water at the end and it STUNK!!! If it got on you, YOU STUNK TOO!!! But I love dark rides and we always ride this one a couple of times when we go.

I saw this on FB - and it was great!
Cool ghost town theme. Great job Adam as usual.
Thanks Adam, I remember riding "Fire In the Hole" from the other Silver Dollar City. I never knew Dollywood started as another SDC.
Really it is a fantastic attraction .Adam however it is very dark inside and a lttle bit scary !
AWESOME Looks like tons of fun I would love to ride it :-)
I only got to ride this one time when I was a kid but I loved it. I didn't know they would spray water at the end, caught be surprise! Loved this ride. I hate they took out the water at the end though.
Great ride, they do a great job decorating it for Christmas!
ive went to dollywood and went on the blazing fury it is my favorite
I'm going there for April vacation next week and can't wait
Love this ride, and it's copy at Silver Dollar City in Branson.
that one is my fav...but thanks for the back history on it didnt know that
For most of that, I was thinking that I definitely prefer Fire in the Hole... but Blazing Fury gets major credit for still having the collapsing bridge roof!
Now the final drop has fog and a special surprise!!!!!
I love that ride too and miss the Flooded Mine...might just have to plan a trip to the SDC in Branson.
Silver Dollar City in Branson officially opened in 1960 but it existed a long time before that when it was just the Marvel Caverns cave tours. Like, a really long time. The first cave tour was back in 1894.
Still a fun ride! Water at then end was nice, I do miss the flooded mine.
I rode in the back for my first time ever riding it. I had my hands up fpr the drop... I was lifted so high, but it was AWESOME.
Great video Adam the woo

Fire in the Hole!
doglog18 Run boys run, don't be sloowwww, fire on the mountain, fire in the hoollllleeeeeee
BrayansGamePlays does your mommy know you got on the magic media box?
It looks exactly like Fire in the Hole at Silver Dollar City. The water at the end was the best part.
I remember the old Thunder Road movie motion ride. man wish I could watch it again it was so cool
+Aaron Windsor Except the attractions!
I'm used to disneyland but when we lived in Illinois for a year & a half, my parents decided to take here, since my mother had been a while back because she had relatives nearby. I was a bit weirded out by "fire in the hole"!
That's a great Space Mountain shirt, Adam!
Went there a few years back with friends and one of our friend's daughter was nervous about riding. A nice lady (I would call her grandmotherly) was trying to convince her it was ok. Her argument was "It's fun and you see a guy on a commode."Needless to say she wasn't convinced.
That Roller Coaster Looked Awsome .
When I was a small child, my family went on a lot of vacations, that park was (I Think) my first theme park; though, I never really could remember where it was located. That ride scared the shit out of me, as a child. It was one of the many rides there that actually traumatized me of coasters for much of my childhood.

Ncyphen As a small child i was also terrified of this and i cried alot lol
I just love the how much fun you were having....
Man blazing fury looks amazing! Where is dollywood again i gotta get over there. This reminds me a little of knotts berry farm where i am located.
Dollywood is in the great state of Tennessee which is where i live.I live an hour away from the park and it is awesome.I have rode all the rollercoasters except Tennessee Tornado.I highly recommend Dollywood.
I rode this today, what a classic!
As a local this ride along with the flooded mine are the best rides the park had before dolly bought the park in 1986.
Those people sure sound pretty happy and unconcerned about the fact that their town IS BURNING TO THE GROUND.
Did the guy at the very end with the AdamtheWoo t-shirt notice you? XD
yeah I think so, look at that smile on his face ;)
Where
I think that's his dad.
Adam can you please go to The Sandlot filming location?
Yea!!
Hopefully he does
Awesome vid brother keep them up
Blazing fury in my opinion is the best ride ever I can’t wait to go back and ride it 1,000,000 times
cool ride through
Sliver Dollar City still has water at the end of "Fire in the Hole"
Looks really cool! : )
I’ve lived in Tennessee my entire life yet I’ve never been to Dollywood or Opry Land when it was open.
Keep up the vids, Adam!
That looks a fun ride.
You don't get splashed in the face with water anymore, what? That was the best part.
It messed up the cart
Great ride!
I never got to ride this when I went to dollywood. It was down all day. But I did get to enjoy wild eagle.
Adam, Silver Dollar City theme park in Missouri or maybe Arkansas was used as location filming in several episodes of The Beverly Hillbillies TV series.
I used to take my kids to "Fire in the Hole" at Silver Dollar City in both Branson and Pigeon Forge
A classic ride don't miss this!!!!
I love this vlog... btw can we have a captain update to see how much he has grown on your return
Aw, this makes me miss the Spelunker Cave at Six Flags over Texas the way it was way back in the day.
Bro IKR i
Adam, you need to do the counterpart in Branson this year
@ 6:15 the railroad crossing bell is actually a US&S teardrop bell built in the 1930s
This ride gave me absolute nightmares as a kid.
but I'll always love Dollywood wish they still had the flooded mine ride
Silver Dollar City in Branson still has the flooded mine.
Yea I heard they did
+Ronnie Pierce All of the guns were glitchy but it was still fun!
Look for the return of the flooded mine.
