This explained my experience, in words I couldn’t find myself. In recent relatable terms- I tried a scotch two days ago (not a scotch drinker, warming up to good bourbons) and it tasted like bandaids (he shared he tasted “iodine” which also made sense)… I didn’t like it, but the aftertaste was pleasant and kept me thinking about whether I actually liked it, or not. Needless to say, your reference got me, there. These songs are amazing, and I even if I need a few listens to appreciate why.
This doesn’t sound like QOTSA-I mean, it sounds like their last two albums, I guess, but those didn’t sound like QOTSA-so would you say you like newer stuff more than older stuff?

Having just lost my mother recently, this album's general tone of anger, confusion and sadness perfectly incapsulates how I feel. It's gonna be one of those albums that brings me so much memories of dark times, as I look back when I grow older.
Just lost my little brother a few weeks ago and the line “there’s gotta be someway back to earth” tears the soul and the heart swells like crazy man. Only because like you, we are asking and hoping there’s a way back to what was. I think what makes this album perfectly made is those themes, especially lyrics in Straight jacket fitting
im actually noticing how a lot of small parts of the video are in cue with the instruments like the drums with the fist pounding at 0:35 or how the occasional flashes of red with the main character outline happen in contrast to the beat
Very raw and beautiful, how can you not absolutely adore somebody who is willing to go to that level of vulnerability,darkness, and whatever else it took to create a masterpiece such as this. Some of these lyrics are hitting really fucking close to home.
This album deserves a Grammy... but since Grammys becomes shit, this Album have my absollute respect and thankful for the great music you continue doing as a band... really great!!!🤘
Agreed. Going all the way back to their self titled debut they have never released a subpar album. Even their most mediocre album is still chock full of good music

Been a ride with this band for over 20 years. The absolute best. They age like a fine wine. Went threw a divorce and lost my dad and friends over the last few years. Feels like they wrote the album we all needed. Best band in the world
On the first couple of listens to the album without paying much attention to the song names, that chorus in particular is the part that kept popping into my head without knowing which song it actually belonged to. Now I just can't stop listening to it. Definitely my favourite out of the whole album

They're my favorite band in terms of, "Oh, they changed their sound. Well, that's new. DAMN. That's good!" Most bands change a sound, and it's cheap for what the record company wants to produce. I suppose that Señor Homme just makes what he wants to make. How many people have gone in and out of The Queens of the Stone Age?

They manage to do it while still unmistakably being QOTSA too. You can't mistake them for anyone else, no matter how they twist their sound. One of our eras greatest Rock bands by far!

Lyrically one of the heaviest songs. Resonating with it is has a liberating feeling because I know someone else feels that same way and he’s singing it all out.
Queens of the stone age sounds like no other band. In a day and age where main stream Rock and heavy metal all sound the same it is nice to know that I can always count on QOTSA to make good original music.
Out of all the good Rock that just got released Qotsa's + The Hives' new albums are the two best! Even though as a die-hard Qotsa fan, I gotta admit that The Hives' new record definitely rocks harder. It's easier to consume like a beer at bar on a weekend. Qotsa's new album is more like a fine wine you gotta take your time for & breath it in deep to fully enjoy it's qualities. So I tend to listen more to the Hives at the moment. I need something simple to consume in this complex world in order to relax & enjoy myself. But in the moments where it goes deeper, this will be my jam.

Turns out Liam Lynch has been collaborating with queens for years (along with many others).. didn't even realise. Since atleast Lullabies - he directed Burn The Witch vid. And he's made some of the most beloved contributions, incl the creation of 'Bulby' from Era.. also directed Tenacious Ds Pick of Destiny movie, had a hit song, and many other things. Dude has done some pretty cool stuff! Interesting career

Perfect single choices and in the right order. You guys have a good ear for exact my taste! This song really grew on me. And now it’s one of my favorites of In Times New Roman. Love the vocals. And that sort of overdubbed open guitar seventies-like guitar part thing!! Have fun playing this live! 🎶 Oh and great atmosphere and storytelling in this and the rest of the video’s of the new album. It captures the sound perfectly. You guys are definitely so gigantic on a roll! This album is really something special.

Turns out Liam Lynch has been collaborating with queens for years (along with many others).. didn't even realise. Since atleast Lullabies - he directed Burn The Witch vid. And he's made some of the most beloved contributions, incl the creation of 'Bulby' from Era.. also directed Tenacious Ds Pick of Destiny movie, had a hit song, and many other things.

Perfect single choices and in the right order. You guys have a good ear for exact my taste! This song really grew on me. And now it’s one of my favorites of In Times New Roman. Love the vocals. And that sort of overdubbed open guitar seventies-like guitar part thing!! Have fun playing this live! 🎶 Oh and great atmosphere and storytelling in this and the rest of the video’s of the new album. It captures the sound perfectly. You guys are definitely so gigantic on a roll! This album is really something special.

It tickles your soul and comforts your heart, if it's well dedicated written and played, with that same heart and soul. This album comes from all the right areas. It's so honest and real. I know this is everyone's favorite song. I keep hearing people say how it's the best song on the album. It's an amazing tune, but I really really like some of their other songs a lot more. I hope they come out with some more videos. Long live QOTSA!!! 🐍🐍🐍
