Major Shaikh and life as a Cadet Force Adult Volunteer

As part of Armed Forces Week we spoke to Major Shaikh from Warwickshire and Birmingham (South Sector) Army Cadet Force about what it is like to be a Cadet Force Adult Volunteer and the difference it makes.

I'm a Brit living in Germany. Nothing like this in Germany. Wonderful person full of example and enthusiasm, taking care and leading young people. To me you belong to the elite of the UK, in the sense of being best-educated, and best-trained people. Stemming from the Latin "eligere", to select or to sort out. You habe been selected because you made the correct choices in your life.

There is a reason why there are no army cadets in Germany…..
The Hitler Youth tainted certain youth organisations there.
