I got a legendary 1911 in my first play through with the shattering effect. I aptly named it The Lord’s Fist and used it for the rest of the play through.
This gun being in the game makes a Space Joshua Graham playthrough possible without mods making it an S-tier by default. Seriously though the 45. ACP guns carry any pistol only play through. Mows Terramorphs down like nothing else and a solid swap from a razorback to help manage ammo in combat gauntlets. Having Kid stuff guarantees it early game means you can always have a powerhouse sidearm without farming shops till the XM-2311 starts spawning too. Great gun even if it's eventually replaced by the XM.
This is my favorite gun in the whole game (the 1911 that your dad gives you), the only downside is exactly what you said. Ammo is hard to find but I still keep it in every build.
Cool as the Luger looks, there is a good reason they aren’t really used anymore and wouldn’t be in the future. They were way too mechanically complicated and thus prone to malfunction. The 1911 is much more simple, thus more reliable and easier to maintain.
If you don't take security you can also get the Vampires Sidearm by manipulating the guard in the area and having him open the door. (And you get a free point in manipulation by doing the Ryuijin line.)
Interesting vids so far, reallu loving the insight to these weapons for people who might wanna snatch the game. (Also I lost ALL my acount data on DRG and I'm having to restart...r.i.p but keep up the good work Ron!)
My main sidearm at the end of my first go-round was a legendary advanced OEP with Furious, Staggering, Titanium Build. Weighed like 0.41 once it was modded.
1:25 The American military went metric back in the fifties to be in line with their NATO allies. Anything from before that are in Imperial (including the 1911 and M2 Browning) but everything since (the M16 and Beretta) have been metric.
Hadnt seen this mentioned yet, but 9 rounds is still one too many even when you count the round in the chamber if you're carrying Condition 1. Standard magazine size is 7, plus one in the pipe is 8.
I would imagine for a weapon where the Ammo is very limited if using, then for every shot fired you would surely want to get the most out of every shot fired in damage. Thus I can see maximizing the damage on that weapon with mods.
I love this series. Subscribed and very much enjoying every weapon! Do you know how to tell what tier the unique weapons are based on? Are they always Advanced!? Or are some the names weapons you can get early scaled to your level at calibrated refined or even just base modded?

1911 300 yrs later?? It JUST still works.
Thanks Todd!

Yeah that is an awesome idea! And you are right the .45 is pretty great in this game!

Indeed. Although personally I would have gone with the Browning High Power from FN.
I have a 1911 IRL and I love it, so getting one in starfield made me super happy.
Love your weapon review btw, keep it up dude.
Very cool! I have never shot a 1911, it would probably be pretty fun though. Closest thing is a Tokarev.
I have an instigating and with a silenecer and using sneak it works quite well
It's simple. It's reliable. It gets the job done. Why wouldn't it last? Not much different from a 12ga shotgun or an AK-47.

That's cool I wasn't aware of that!

Thank you, and sorry to hear that about your DRG game.
Always has been.
Even in the future, this is a banger. Got a poisoning/anti-personal that works very well.
The XM-311 is just a straight upgrade of the 1911, its like having one of a higher tier.

Most aftermarket mags are 8 rounders. Wilson combat comes to mind (mostly cause I own 4 of them)
Yeah I guess you are right, I was thinking 8 +1 but 7+1 is correct.
I haven't played Starfield because I don't own a system that can play it, but listening to Ron talk about a 1911 is too interesting to pass up.

That’s a nice revolver

Not the most the most practical gun, but undeniably fun to use!
Totally agree.
That recoil is ridiculous though 😅
It is quite a bit, the Rattler has the same issue.
Cool gun for sure. I use it on Neon for lower level NPCs.
8 WORLD WARS, LET'S GOOOOOO
Yeehaw Brother!
Some people are really attached to the "muh two world wars" gun and I wouldn't be at all shocked that they stuck around another 300 years.
Most modern pistols are just redesigns of the browning hi power.
If their was a gun to outlast the earth it would be the 1911
