I'd expect other team or teammate to do one thing and they just do something that makes zero sense logically or just miss entirely. Diamond and low champ always gives me a headache istg
Same. I'm stuck slightly below GC1, but every season I took one or two good weekends time I got GC rewards just by playing as sold and basic as possible in 3s. For 2s I would have to work way harder, cause I'd also have to warm up my mechanics to carry more solo plays. Also getting out of champ 2 always requires way more action on my part.
@@killaknight12 gc1 is just playing smart, the higher u get the faster and more consistent it gets but still basic playing
For real agree. I’m stuck c2-c3 but I watch way too many pros and I just expect my teammates to hit good passes and stuff like that
A top 1s player could carry themselves into GC with good or bad teammates.

@@sxrpxnt4104 I agree I would say 1’s is more about ground play and tactics where in 2’s and 3’s you have to adapt to more types of gameplay and of course also work well in a team - if you can’t work well with teammates it makes it very different to win matches

As a champ 1 player that keeps getting demoted to d3 sometimes d2 from either ball chasing teammates or teammates that give up to early I can confirm having good teammates is really important but just being patient can get you easy goals
In champ no one is patient, which is 70% of reason why I always lose my matches, and when I do get patient, we win most of the time
As a d1 myself, I know enough to know I don't know enough and I greatly enjoy seeing videos like this with the commentary playthrough talking about how to get better outside of simply being told to work on mechanics, rotation, and training packs. Going through the plays showing what the SSLs are doing, making quick decisions and reads and committing to them, then showing the diamond player does put things into perspective. I've noticed when I play more aggressively but slowed down and been more intentional with positioning and plays I've done better instead of just trying to be fast and hit the ball as fast and hard as I can regardless of what's happening or who is around.
Perfectly said and I agree 100%. I too struggle if I try to play fast. But in reality I need to THINK fast not always drive fast or fly fast.

@@DefinitelyJayJay5 yes unfortunately they will not add actual good bots anymore, noone knows for how long but it's very well possible we will never be able to play ssl bots unless its either in the game itself or an anticheat has fully fixed the bot issue. Till then we get to cry because we have no friends and cant play with higher ranks lmao. Atleast thats how it is for me.

Hope they ll move to ue5 soon and add training tools like ingame bots
@@DefinitelyJayJay5 yeah that would be amazing although thats probably gonna take im gonna guess half a year. from what ive found on internet converting to ue5 games have been converted in under a year and rocket league has confirmed it quit a long time ago so surely we will see it soon the ingame bots as a training tool would be so cool tho like it would be so easy to play against good bots with friends aswel if they add them to a lan or private match

This is sad but I've gotta admit that it showed me my problem. I'm also very indecisive and I generally go late my brain tries to think if I should go or stay back. It makes me miss most of the time

You have you rank for a reason and it’s not bad teammates if it is play 1s but it’s probably not this is why your stuck in your ranks even if your teammates are bad you can blame yen but don’t type in chat or tell them because that will cause them to play worse than usual and put them off which leads to losing the game so yea your your own rank for a reason

I thought my positioning was decent then I played in a GC lobby and was lost for the next 5 games. There's different levels of respect you need to give and different types of plays that are viable, it's just very hard to recognise how many when you aren't in the same rank

I'm basically a silver playing in Silver-Plat/Diamond (Depending on mode) though. I think it'd be cool trying to follow, position and defend against GCs.

The indecisiveness is definitely something to struggle with but I can also tell that the Diamond player tends to not drive over small boostpads and keeps scanning for the 100 boost pads instead which adding on top of the indecisiveness can cause for errors and slowness
Ngl I'm impressed with the diamond. He did way better than I would in a plat/diamond lobby as a gold, that's for sure...
I'm currently Gold/Silver. But I am a Gold/Silver that was playing in Diamond 2v2 lobbies for a few seasons and Plat 3v3 lobbies for a few years. All solo queue, I just fell down in ranks at the start of this year.
In the lower lobbies, I just feel like an idiot and wonder what I'm doing wrong for them to score. In the higher level lobbies, I can see the mistakes more clearly.
In the Lower lobbies. It feels like all the players on both teams are constantly right next to the ball and it's hard to tell when to go. In the higher level lobbies, it's easier to tell.

@@7dayspking In 3v3s, I just struggle to keep up with the ball. Even at like gold 2 level already. It zooms all over the place, people start playing in the air a little bit and I’m too slow for that lol
@@llCL0N3Zll I played in Diamond 1&2 2v2 lobbies for nearly a year. I could clearly tell the difference between Diamond and Gold?
Could I hit a higher rank? Only if I improve my skills, positioning or decision making. I do want to get better. I haven't been able to play Rocket league or anything for a couple months(Since early February). I now own a PC & Console, but I can't access either right now. That's why my comments are all past tense. When I can though. I'd like to get better & increase my rank.
I struggled learning mechanics on console. I didn't find a fun way to practice them. I was always practicing them in isolation and it wasn't fun. Before I stopped playing. I was trying to learn double jump/fast aerials and actually hitting the ball at all in the air. I spent so many hours on speedflips but I still couldn't do them. So that's where I left off.
@@grubbygeorge2117 I have a lot of experience playing in Gold & even Silver. I can confidently say I drive around slower than and less precisely than most guys I play with at that rank.
I don't remember struggling to keep up with the ball though, so my advice is probably solid. Dont move quickly when there's nowhere you need to move quickly. So no boosting or flipping until you need to. Don't race around the field or drive into any positions you don't need to go. Sit still or slowly approach if there's nowhere you need to be. Just watch the ball, watch the players and make sure you're in position for when it's time to do something.
Watch Flake's 2v2 without mechanics to SSL series. Specially watch how he's moving slowly or sitting and waiting and not driving himself out of position when it's not necessary

Skill gap between diamond and the top is really only a few tweaks. When diamonds miss ariels it’s normally by inches. But we do miss often and that really creates different positioning between the ranks. Can’t push for a pass if there is a 50% chance your team mate misses or hits it the wrong way. Biggest thing I’ve found playing with higher ranks is they challenge the ball at different locations. For example a ball that rolls up the corner will be challenged closer to the wall the higher level and the lower rank you go the further out the crossing ball is allowed to get.

I'm a diamond and I'm always getting tm8s who are forfeiting at 2-0 and telling me not to touch the ball bc my touches are bad but I'm trying to help and be nice to people who getting toxicity at them
Yeah I’ve had that it really doesn’t help when your own teammates go toxic on you - in my experience you always play better when you help each other for me when I have toxic teammates it instantly takes away my confidence and makes me doubt I can even play the game. Then there are the people who just give up too soon…

Napkin just not smart enough to realize the reasoning behind Caeslon's decisions so he keeps calling it hesitation. Caeslon mostly needs better mechanics to rank up, his decision making isn't bad.

People keep blaming teammates, rocket league is a game where you can easily carry if you're good enough. Taha is in SSL rank and he was able to score so many goals almost by himself. So I feel like teammates shouldn't be the issue just imagine your teamate as a potential obstacle that you need overcome.

Looking at him he is max diamond 3, slow and misses the ball a lot. He relies on being carried to win a game. If he works on solo plays or aggressive attacks making the plays then he would go up into champ but not CG.
The other Diamonds are fast and think they jot the ball a lot. But they're in bad position and hitting the ball into bad positions. They're not covering their net.
Diamonds who do it all well don't stay in Diamond.
