...... my nurses verbally ripped the doctors a new urinary tract.... I was NPO, after 🤮 for over 6 hours by then, at 9am...... I wasn't having surgery until 8am, THE NEXT DAY "Doctor, do you WANT a dead patient? She said her mother helped you find your house?"...... yeah, doc changed the NPO order to after midnight.... at 8pm at night (the nurses were sneaking me ice cubes already & my body was DRAINING the saline) ..... if you're wondering, kidney stones are acid drenched sea urchins.... & gallstones are no one's friends either
Many ways and many different types. If you want something short, be an LPN. Takes a year or two. You can get an associate degree ( ADN 2-2.5 years). You can get a bachelor’s (BSN 4-4.5 years). You can be a nurse practitioner with either a masters (6 years) or a doctorate (8 years). ADNs and BSNs are considered RNs like in this video. You get a degree and take a licensure exam to be licensed.
A charge nurse leads the team for a specific shift while also working alongside them. Her main function is to make sure all assignments are completed by the staff and communicate any change of status of a patient to the physician, and carry out all orders given to her by the physician.
