I love Griffon. It was my favorite coaster in the park since Pantheon was closed on the day I was there. Unlike a lot of enthusiasts, I really enjoy dive coasters -- and I don't consider them to be one trick ponies. Griffon has two good drops -- with the first one being an incredibly good drop. The inversions are great. It's also a considerably forceful coaster. Unfortunately, it was closed until the last hour of my day at the park, but I was able to get in about 5 consecutive rides on it -- and it was definitely the most fun I had on any of the coasters all day. Between my trip to Busch Gardens Williamsburg and Kings Dominion, Griffon was my favorite coaster of the trip (since Intimidator 305 was closed as well, so I didn't get to experience it -- the same as I missed out on Pantheon). I actually liked Griffon even better than Twisted Timbers. I like Twisted Timbers a lot, but ultimately I got more fun and thrills from Griffon than even one of the most highly rated RMC's.

I know -- very bad luck. I had booked that trip 3 months earlier -- certain that I would be riding Pantheon and I-305 (both of which are two of my top bucket list coasters in the US). I was so disappointed about Pantheon, but believed I would at least be getting to ride I-305 the following day... but nope. Still, I'm glad that I got to experience Verbolten, Griffon, Twisted Timbers, Flight of Fear, Apollo's Chariot, Lochness Monster, Alpengeist and Dominator -- so, the trip certainly wasn't bad or ruined. But it sure as hell would've been a whole lot better if Pantheon and I-305 had been open.@@mostly.coasters
