Obviously Saturday June 3rd. Saturday before orthodox Pentecost Sunday. In Greece we call it Souls' Saturday. I love Serbia and I love serbian people. It is a brother nation to us. Have a great time there. (Try the rakija/alcohol)
Hi there and welcome to Serbia... We like nice people like you two. Hope that you'll enjoy your stay and try the local cuisine... Food taste like that only on Balkan..
First of all, Dobrodosli u Srbiju. I was actually on zadusnice that Saturday in my Village. The funny part is I was in Nis on Sunday. Did I see Jagodina at the end looks like VIVO Park glad you made it here. If you want to eat burek I would recommend PINK Burek.
Thanks for the presentation Serbia and our town Niš. Sorry for a rain, it is unusual weather for spring in Niš. You are so cute couple. I wish you everything the best. Good and lucky trip ❤
Very nice video, but I have two comments. First it wad a pity you did not visit the skull tower. It is a unique monument in the world, and it only takes five minutes to check out. Secondly you missed out when you did not try one of the traditional restaurants in Niš, as the food there is excellent and cheaper than in for eg. Belgrade or in other countries in Europe. I understand that travelling full time means a tight budget but quality of food is extremely high in Niš for the money you pay.
Thanks Emil! It's important to remember we don't film everything we do or see as that would make for some LONG and boring videos 😁 That said yes we missed out on the skull tower even though it was on our list. On the other hand we can definitely agree on the incredible value for great food.. Thanks do your comment and suggestions. 👍
So, Nis is the center of the Balkans, and probably Europe too for best food ever. You probably don't know these restaurants, but investigate a little bit.
@@WeWillNomad Oh, there is huge difference. I mean, gigantic. North part of Serbia, food is kind of average (still much better then Western Europe food though). But in Nis and Leskovac, food is on another level. But you have to know the places. That's the main thing.
Great video!Just to let you know that you missed one of most important things here in Niš and Serbia in general: Skull Tower, Mediana site and eating in Kafana
Thanks! You don't have to worry 😎 as we ate in many restaurants and coffee shops in Serbia. Sometimes it's not easy to film in these places unfortunately.
Well thank you for nice presentation of our city. There is a lot more to see and visit. 13:52 - Unfortunately yes :D That restaurant is well known. A little bit outside of city so they can play music for that long. However yes, crowd in the street is the strongest that day when "Zadusnice" event is, usually even police start regulate traffic on that day. About parking slot for your car, there is parking next to the fortress, that you can pay by day. Low trafic noise, no restaurants around and its really in the middle of the city. You sleep 2 meter away from fortress. When you are in Serbia, just ask young locals, they know english they will give you advices.
Really good video Andre & Lisa. We, as you know, have always enjoyed your videos - part tour guide, part reality check, part fun, part reflective and always informative. In this one you show us the challenges we ourselves will have to overcome as well as a very respectful and reflective take on the history of where you are. We enjoyed this whilst supping our INSTANT coffee looking out over a field of cows 🤣
We really like Serbia and (spoiler alert) just popped back in.. We haven't really seen that much yet and we'd love to visit Belgrade and follow the Danube west.

Thanks Mike! Indeed, greed, power and vanity has been a strong motivator for as long as humans existed. What's really incredible is that we don't seem to learn from history... Then again, are there ever any adults in the (any) room?
What would I give to have a BUREK like that right here in Los Angeles?!? I think I'll be forced to learn how to make it myself; thank God I saw on youtube some recipes. And BTW - Nis(h) is known for excellent food!!!
First, welcome to Serbia! And just a reminder: Lisa, in the video, in 10.28 you said it's picnic area. It is not. It's a memorial complex and in respect to many victims and horrible deaths that happened there it is not allowed to picnic there.
Thanks for watching and your comment. Indeed it's a memorial and that is the main reason why we visited the site. However, the park contains many tables, benches and even bbq places which is a bit confusing then as to what is 'allowed'. But thank you for correcting our ignorance.
At 20:51 behind trees there is a little bit of green roof of a building where in 1914 telegram from Austrian-Hungary empire is received about declaration of war and it is start of 1st world war.

Another great video guys. - I'd like to suggest a Channel rename, how about Pastries and Ice Cream ! - Well done on visiting the concentration camp and thanks for sharing your experience with us. Your respectful tone was appreciated. How sad, how cruel we can be to each other. I've visited Dachau years ago and immediately afterwards felt quite angry, but that's not how we need to be. It doesn't do any of us any good and only breeds hatred and contempt and feeds the "them and us" ideals that seems to bring about these atrocities. Some of the nicest people that I've met are German so we cannot blame all Germans for these horrific deeds. Sadly it seems that we (all nations) are capable of these cruel acts. - Sorry to see how downbeat you were after your bad nights sleep, good to see that you put it in perspective after the camp visit. But its a shame the infrastructure isn't better. It will take time as they are missing out of a very lucrative tourism opportunity. - Nis looked Nice ;-) I'm telling you..... Pastries and Ice Cream is where it's at...... (safe travels and wishing you better sleeps)
🤣🤣 Perhaps our channel will do much better if we only focus on food! Thanks for the comment Ronan! By now we're also more used to the ups and downs of this type of life. To get to the good parts you sometimes have to endure the small pains along the way.
last time I looked at google camping site in Serbia, there were maybe around 14 maybe and quite old. Serbia has actually not cared about tourism that much even though the country has a great potential, only excavations from the past are only about 5% so archeology is huge there, then we have the nature which is fantastic all over the country but unfortunately we don't invest enough especially in southern and eastern Serbia. so new modern camping parking with everything is good business for those who get the idea to open.
Yes, there could definitely be some good new business opportunities, both for campsites and just dedicated motorhome stops. We really enjoyed our time in Serbia, it's a beautiful country and we look forward to returning! Thanks for watching and joining us! 😍
Really enjoy following your journey. Do many people speak English or are you using google translate or something similar to translate menus, info boards etc. Would be interesting to find out.
Thank you! We do use Google Lens a lot and also Google translate. It doesn't really work well for some languages thought. It's a mixed bag to be honest. Sometimes we're surprised by good English in the middle of nowhere and more than often we're surprised how little English is spoken. Generally in destinations which receive more tourists it's easier.
