Nice! I have been using MindMaps for a while, but I have found they are not optimal for easy search or linking information across several "maps". Obsidian does a great job at this, but I do not like the way it handles images and documents (making a copy in an endless list of media). This way you get the "visual" benefits of mind mapping softwares like Xmind, but then also have a more "PKM" and text-only oriented copy inside Obsidian. It takes a couple extra steps but I think its worth it. Keep in mind Xmind is local only as well, and their sharing capabilities are not optimal. There are better alternatives out there for syncing with your phone and collaborating with others, but the idea is still the same. Kudos.
There's an Xmind plugin right inside Obsidian: Plugin installation: • Settings -> Third Party Plugins -> Community Plugins (Overview) • In the search, write Xmind, install • Turn on the "Enable" button
@@TheSlimshader That is a really cool idea. I had not even thought of that. I use ChatGPT to generate mermade code. Maybe you could take the markdown outline and ask ChatGPT to do the conversion?
@@andresviera5059 Can you help me understand, what is "mind map" format to you? Do you mean that you thought it would look like a mind map inside of Obsidian?
@@ScottNovis exactly, i was expecting that it has a mind map structure in obsidian. maybe works better using the canvas option of obsidian. Also, If you´re making not much complex mindmaps, there´s a plugin in obsidian that works pretty well, and if you want to convert the mindmap into text, works better than exporting an md file with xmind

very nice idea! Thanks very much for sharing.
Ótimo vídeo. Seria muito bom se surgisse um plugin para fazer o processo de diagramação visual dentro do obsidian.
there is one, go to "community plugins" and search for "mindmap"
