  • Valley Kings Defeat Doinks and Dingers On Multiple Hit Performance By Ian Schenk
    Ian Schenk collected three hits in five at bats, as Valley Kings defeated Doinks and Dingers 14-6 on Sunday. Schenk hit a solo home run to right field in the sixth inning, singled in the second inning, and singled in the eighth inning.
    Doinks and Dingers were the first to get on the board in the first when Alex Evans hit a solo home run to right field.
    Valley Kings captured the lead, 3-1, in the bottom of the first when Cole Feig doubled, scoring one run, and Donavon Dismuke singled, scoring two runs. Valley Kings added one run in the second. Schenk singled, making the score 4-2.
    Doinks and Dingers captured the lead, 5-4, in the top of the third after Luca Avila doubled, Spencer Laine doubled, and Nick Rogers singled, each scoring one run.
    Sean Harris singled, which helped Valley Kings tie the game at five in the bottom of the third. Valley Kings captured the lead, 9-5, in the bottom of the fourth after Feig singled, Dismuke walked, Jonathan Torres singled, and Harris hit into a double play, each scoring one run. Valley Kings scored one run in the bottom of the sixth on a solo home run to right field by Schenk.
    Torres earned the win for Valley Kings. He surrendered three hits and one run over three innings, striking out two and walking two. Wayne Baker pitched four innings in relief for Valley Kings. The reliever surrendered four hits and three runs while, striking out six and walking two. Justin Jimenez took the loss for Doinks and Dingers. Jess Larson stepped on the mound first for Valley Kings. The starting pitcher surrendered three hits and two runs (one earned) over one inning, striking out none and walking two. Valley Kings collected 13 hits in the game.
    Feig and Schenk each collected three hits for Valley Kings. Dismuke, Feig, and Schenk each drove in three runs for Valley Kings. Torres collected two hits for Valley Kings in five at bats. Jonathan Granado led Valley Kings with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, tallying seven walks for the game. Granado stole two bases. Valley Kings stole five bases, and turned one double play in the game. Valley Kings will travel to Cali Rangers for their next game on Sunday.
