These polyfect kos have been around for at least 15-20 years and they keep churning them out. Your advice is right on - set your expectations really low and they can be quite charming in their way. There are 3 scales. Relative to the g1 combiner kos, there's 9", 7", and a very rare 5.5". There are also simplified variants like you showed with the train bot. I have a (mostly) fully transforming devastator, and one where you can only get vehicle modes but no bot mode. The most interesting one is the 5.5" devastator that fits perfectly with the WST line. I do not know if they ever did the other combiners in that scale. If what you're showing is a new wave, it'd be interesting to see a side by side of any further simplification they've made.

As bots/formers they’re not great, but they do look awesome on display with 6 inch scale action figures. Thanks for doing this. Many toy shows later and I was feeling insane looking for their existence. Accused by one dealer of printing them myself!

These things are even cheaper and have been simplified by removing parts or changing the molds. Like for example arm limbs don’t extend so the arms are stubby.
Back in the day I bought a version of the "Trainemprise" combiner and it pretty much was a 1 to 1 KO of the original Sixliner. The individual bots could transform and they could combine. It also came with the battleship that is a KO of the GoBot Man-o-War. I was expecting these to be the same as that KO I had, but they aren't. So, thank you for saving me the money. Even KOs were better quality back then.

@@classiccomicsforum you know, I was surprised to hear you don't like G1 mini combiners, and this thing 10:38 made me a little suspicious. So I looked it up, and it seems like they changed a little bit more than meets the eye... to put it lightly. Bruticus I have is just a smaller version of real thing, every single part (legs/arms) is a transformer. Yes, a crappy one, but let's be honest, legs and arms of G1 combiners wasn't exactly masterpieces too. Now it's just a placeholders, like solid block shuttle with retractable peg, or plain helicopter. So maybe there was a better, older versions of Voltron and Six Liner too.
Some sentai KO figures from China were even banned in the Philippines because of some dangerous paints with high levels of lead that were found. This is why some of the KOs having packed in the same way to what was shown here were sold cheaply.

That Voltron isn’t an undersized copy of the big one we got over here. Or an oversized copy of the smaller one we got here. @classiccomicsforum I remember those too. Back in maybe 90 91ish, I'd go with my grandparents to a weird wholesale auction house. So just a point of clarification these are in no way new. In the early to mid 200s they were everywhere at discount retailers like Gordmans, and biglots. The cool thing was originally they were 1 to 1 remakes with full transformations. Even the bigger g1 combiner KOs were the same. I get the Voltron. One of the car foot is very loose. It look ok on display but can't movie it. Also own the golden samurai dinosaur. Is imposible to transform. It feels like is going to break. 😅😅😅
Yes, I was really disappointed with the Golden Samurai dude from Brave Great Goldran. The original is a favorite of mine, and I really hoped the KO would do more.
The Voltron is based on the gb-72 version. It is the correct size.
They've been sold at collectors' conventions in Japan for about 20 years at least. I've seen them sold by Chinese sellers at Wonderfest, etc and they were always overpriced.
Sadly, this is a new batch that is of an even inferior quality than the older sets you're thinking of. I still like the Dairugger XV, though.
Here in the Philippines they just cost around 4USD.
@@naturalmystic1262 wow. I wonder if you could make a profit reselling them.
I love buying those here hahahaha
Where can i find these? I have 3 i just found randomly
Mostly giftshops that specialize in cheap Chinese imports. You can find some of them on Ali Express too.
I like k.o transformers but depends the design
The quality on these have definitely fallen. I bought the Sixliner back in 2011 or so and I remember the guy that forms the chest being able to bend his knees and fill out the two rectangular holes in the chest. The two chaps that form the legs were at least able to assume a more robot looking stance, but couldn't bend their arms. I had very fond memories with this set, but I doubt I'll be picking it up again since the visual quality doesn't seem to be as good as the 2011 version.
As a side note, I would like to see you review the Fighbird and Super Build Tiger knockoffs as there isn't really much information on them online.
@@DressShirtWeeb I haven't been able to find them, myself, but I'm keeping my eyes open!
Those have been around for years every so often they've reprint them and sell them again they've been selling them in Chinatown in New York City for over the last 20 years
@@TandLtoys except the quality has changed significantly since the previous releases. Backing cards are the same, but this truly is a new wave of KOs.
But still looks awesome
Absolutely.
how about a link to where to get
sorry now i know
It's kinda sad what they did with trains. They could make transformable 6 trains. Heck, those toys are so simple, so they could make just ko version of Takara's one.
I got the train one with them all transformable like 20 years ago at big lots and it came with a ko gobot. All for $10
So just a point of clarification these are in no way new. In the early to mid 200s they were everywhere at discount retailers like Gordmans, and biglots. The cool thing was originally they were 1 to 1 remakes with full transformations. Even the bigger g1 combiner KOs were the same. Unfortunately the molds were so overused the manufacturers had to start dumbing them down and the bigger combiners like menasor did get simplified and lost articulation.
Hence where these versions you have are.
@@mikecarroll6669 right. This is a new wave of KOs with a stark difference in quality, but they are not new designs nor the first time these toys have been released as KOs.
The big lots ko’s where 10 times better and all robots transform just like the originals… still got them in box from 15 years ago $7.99
@@charlesrudolph4584 those were fantastic. My first introduction to Build Tiger!
These Polyfect knockoffs are very sloppy IMO; I think some of the best knockoffs/bootlegs coming out now are the Metroplex and Metrotitan bootlegs. Those are absolutely awesome; Metrotitan even had a brand new knockoff of his Micromaster released too.
@@JomasterTheSecond yes. I've been enjoying those quite a bit. Unfortunately, you can't find those in American stores, so middle men end up marking them up quite a bit.
Still a fantastic value, of course. I've bought quite a few.
Good content, but what’s withe the square video?
I've never seen em ere in the uk
@@shaunhandley3050 they aren't showing up in the conventional places. If you know of any giftshops that do a lot of Chinese imports, try there. Also Ali Express.
i like my Goldran
@@breakingbasha have one myself. Not bad, but so much more limited than the original. Still, you can't beat the cost!
they had these in big lots in the early 2000s then they stopped selling them.
@@MidnightVCoco those were larger scale than these (and also higher quality), but I remember those well!
My cousin got the Defensor from this bootleg line and the build quality was terrible
Those bots have been around for at least 20 years
@@jax2428 yes, but not this particular release of knock offs. The box art is the same as previous releases, but the specific molds and quality levels are different.
Don't know why these bootleggers didn't made VOLTES V, DAIMOS and BIOROBO of Bioman
@@naturalmystic1262 boy would I love to see those. Voltes and combattler would be challenging to do in plastic, but Daimos would be absurdly easy.
@@classiccomicsforum i know they have a bootleg of the Voltron lion version. From what i remember as a kid back then. Not with this packaging, but same plastic and build quality
@@naturalmystic1262 I miss the old Gokin kos that actually used metal. I own quite a few of those - Lion Bot, Garbin, and whatever the God Sigma KO was called.
for starters that first combiner is not voltron it was a japan version power rangers megazord as a life long voltron/ power rangers fan from both japan and the usa both voltron was usa only not japan as were power rangers got there start in japan same with transformers or or the rough translation transmoprhers
It was originally from Armored Fleet Dairugger XV, which was not part of the Super Sentai (Japanese Power Rangers) franchise.
Jet Icarus and Jet Garuda from Choujin Sentai JetMan series. I don't like this knock off version because it is not enjoyable.
These things have been around forever. They’re crappy but hey, they’re cheap.
Having bought these off and on over the past 20+ years, I can tell you this new batch is even cheaper than what I've seen before. But they're also easier to find.
@@classiccomicsforum nice I might score a Dairugger XV for the wife, she loves that guy.
What do you want for $15
Been out for decades. U can order them direct from china for less than 5 bucks
@@memphismayhemAU where are you finding them for $5 or less? These are not the same ones that were available before. Very different quality
@@classiccomicsforum I order direct from china over the last decade plus but don’t take my word for it I guess. You don’t know where to get these for less than 5 dollars? That explains it then
@@memphismayhemAU not a matter of believing you or not. I have the previous releases and I have these.
Very cool that you order direct. How does one go about doing that?
@@classiccomicsforum I’m not going to argue with you. But the amount of Kos in china are next level if you actually browsed there wares forever like some of us have. Tfw2005 ko thread is a good resource on Kos. The ones u have r the ones I’m talking about. They’ve been out a long time. Their one of the cheapest quality Kos out there and are priced that way in china. maybe ur just seeing them now but they’ve been on the market for a long time. They make even cheaper quality ones than those btw.
@@memphismayhemAU well with inflation and currency prices atm I see them for 6 dollars these days. But I remember when they were 3-4 dolllars too. I think I read someone say they were 5 dollars on temu still. But I take it you meant jd, 1688 or taobao where they were cheaper
Dairugger XV? more like Dairugger X...
These are bad representations of knock offs. Go look at Black Mamba or Wei Jiang. They are not cheap but they definitely give Hasbro a run for their money.
Careful googling 'Black Mamba'😂
No, pay the extra and get the original.
