very few divers would or should ever attempt this type of dive. the level of training and knowledge is awesome. You guys are incredible. Thank you for filming these dives. To combine very deep diving with cave diving requires perfect execution. Having two ceilings one because of pressure and one actual ceiling gives you very little wiggle room for errors. Great execution.
Would you guys consider doing a video detailing more on your equipment / procedure for kitting up? I (and probably many others) are interested in just how much preparation goes into one of these dives - from CCR, to bailout tanks, to lights, to heating system etc. Great videos as always!
We have been discussing this matter in the team. Maybe in some day. Kitting up is more or less a controlled hassle each time. Our gear is qute standard. There is nothing special as such.
I really like how with the closed captions on there is text information about the dive. I don't think a lot of people know that feature, maybe mention it at the beginning of the video in a brief text statement. Amazing dives! Thanks!
Any chance you could share a picture of your scooter and camera setup? You always seem to capture much better video then I can manage and would like to see what setup you are using?
I will ask Tero to add a photo or short video of his light and camera setup. I myself have just a 50 Watt 12 Volt video light fixed with bungees on the scooter nose.
The cave maps are in our native language Finnish but the habitat is above the Decopuu / Deco tree. Deco tree is at 9 meters and habitat at 6 metes. Deco tree is just an old tree which we use for hanging deco stages and most of the lines are also connected to the Deco tree. The entry / exit point is called Portaat veteen in Finnish = Stairs to the water.

It has been a long way gradually gaining experience, doing training and buying dive gear.
Big factor is also the 4c water temp ! doing this in 25c water or in 4c water is a whole other story

Do you know what they were mining at this site? The workings look quite extensive.
It's a limestone mine. Thus the white color. They stopped mining because they could not contain water entering the mine.
What do you guys use for suit inflation? I think I saw an argon bottle on each of you.
Argon is the preferred choice. Air if argon is not available.
question for you guys. Do you worry about these old wooden structures, I assume they are old, maybe collapsing?
They are old ok. There are a couple of places which we have been discussing in the team. Some of the supports have already collaplsed.
Please would you tell me what cave lights you are using? They are fantastic!
We are using Northern Light Scuba video lights on the scooters and Northern Light Scuba canister lights.
crazy
I saw there was a death in the mine…. Did you know them??
Yes. May he rest in piece.
How old is this mine?
Wich DPV's are you using ? @arcticicedivers
We are using Northern Light Scuba DPVs.
Where’s the habitat?
The habitat is in the open water section of the mine at 6 meters close to the entry and exit point.
