    I was at this show. A great night. Bowie, if memory serves, only played his own songs until Lou came out. Then he played Lou’s songs. A true sign of respect and admiration.

      If Reed had been as beautiful and stylish as Bowie, with his songs … time would have stopped somewhere around Lexington 125.

    Bowie is ridiculously cool. No effort required by the man.
    Both Lou and David were putting out decent music around this time. "Ecstacy" is one of Lou's best solo albums IMHO. All I Wanna know is where's Iggy? Woulda been perfect if he'd crashed the party.

    Reeves Gabrels just shreds the shit out of these songs, what a brilliant guitarist

    • @Charleybones
      @Charleybones 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +David Prince Agreed. He really brings power to his guitar. I bought the first Tin Machine cd 26 years ago when it was first released. And like many, I was disappointed to hear that it didn't sound at all like Bowie's earlier stuff. A few songs grew on me for a few weeks, but that was it. Last year, I was bored with all my other cd's, I dropped it into my car cd player. Reeves guitar work immediately jumped out at me. I am a guitarist and didn't even notice how good it was back then. Reeves is absolutely up there with the best of them..

    • @dexterdog717
      @dexterdog717 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      +Charleybones I think that the last group of musicians he had were (forgive me if I'm not using this word right) virtuoso level musicians. I guess that means the best of the best. Reeves, Mike Garson, Gail Ann Dorsey and some of the others from the 90's and early 2000s were some of the best in the world at what they did.
